I'm waaaay past complaining about the TRASH story of this game but let's just sum it up in one statement:
The fact TEEN adapatations of Spidey have dealth with Both Enhanced Kraven and Venom, better than this supposedly "10 years experienced" Playstation version that SHOULD be in his PRIME...is simply PATHETIC😐.
This game is te WORST Spidey adaptation and I'll DIE on that hill. Say what you want about other versions, as bad as they got, they NEVER showcased this much MISunderstanding if the character and SPITE for Peter

This game killed any hype I had for this version of Spider-Man and made me appreciate the classic Spider-Man games more. Like god damn, Edge of Time is peak storytelling and giving both Spider-Men the respect they deserve in comparison, and the hook of that game is literally another Spider-Man saving Peter from dying.
Thanks for watching and commenting on this. Hearing the voices of people who actually experienced the past feels really good to hear. Shame they don't port the older games, but I honestly speculate that they won't preserve them because they sense that it would embarrass the current games.
And in EoT having Spider-Man be saved ONCE by another Spider-Man was actually compelling and justified, since mf was going against Anti-Venom which drained Peter’s radiation, and STILL Peter gave him a big fight. Not like in this trash SM2 in which it feels rigged as hell for Miles to keep saving Peter like an idiot.
Edge of Time always had the BEST story of any spidey game and BEST Spiderverse story too💯

This game killed my excitement for Marvel games moving forward.
After months, I finally understand now why the stab was so fatal for Peter. We know that he's been stabbed before. An example is in the final fight with Doc Ock on the side of a building. We see a blade of the tentacle pierce Peter's chest, there's blood when he pulls it out. But it didn't go all the way through, just pierced his front side, not back. So when Kraven comes along here with a ridiculously sharp that he penetrates Spidey with hard & aggressive enough force to pierce through the back, & then forcefully break it while it's still inside Peter, of course that's not gonna end well. He may he a superhero, but he's mortal. He bleeds & if caught off guard or not on his peak, enemies can get the high ground on him.
Ok, maybe you should take a few more months to ask why the writers wrote the scene in a way that would make a hero look pathetic. It's almost as if he was nerfed by ill-intent writers,

My points still stand as this is the only time where someone else tells him where he's going wrong as opposed to the self-reflection that every other adaptation has. Shots of Miles straight up out strengthing him doesn't really help either as it makes the writers intent clear.

1. Not all spider-men are the same across all continuities.
2. Peter wasn't trying to hurt/kill miles or mj. (Unlike web of shadows where it seemed like he wanted to rip black cat apart.) Hell, the same goes for miles and mj.
3. Peter didn't beat the sinister six when they first met. He got his ass handed to him. Afterwards, he beat them by having them be separated into twos! (Hell, he didn't really beat Rhino or Scorpion. They beat themselves.)
4. It was established that the lizard was mutanted to be stronger by kraven. Peter beat him before.
5. The first game had a similar scene to the fridge scene, yet no one complained about that. (It was the scene where he gets trapped under a bunch of computer stuff after a professor was told to kill himself by Mr. Negative.) Also, how is a 11 second clip proof that insomniac hates peter? Why not have an entire game show that instead? Oh wait, the game doesn't.
6. Just because someone watches a video of someone killing someone else, that doesn't mean that they instantly know how strong they are. It's absolutely possible that kraven was holding back in that video, considering he didn't see him as a threat.
7. The very first scene that shows the symbiote guys shows that they are very strong. (Peter even says that he's missing the extra symbiote strength at that moment.) Plus, he has a bit of symbiote in him as well, which could've been influencing him to surrender to them. (Also, miles was struggling as well. The only reason why they were able to get out was because of Mr. Negative.)
8. No shit venom is kicking Peter's ass, he is the strongest foe peter has faced by that point. (Hell, miles struggled as well.)
9. Why would venom treat mj as a serious threat? (Plus, the first game was about peter trusting her more.)
10. You say that they don't "find a way to beat venom", except they do. It's by using the collider to wipe out all of the symbiotes. (Plus, Peter's anti-venom powers.)
11. He loses all of these fights? It's almost like the threats in this game are mant to be stronger then the ones in the first one. (I mean, would you really want the bad guys in this game to be weaker then the ones in the first one?)

1. an enhanced stronger version of the lizard(& keep in mind, lizard's supposed to be stronger than Spider-Man in his base form already in most adaptations)
2. a version of kraven who had already killed half of the sinister six, & thought electro was weak
3. a skyscraper sized sandman who had easily destroyed multiple buildings
4. and a version of venom who could lift an entire football field with his tendrils with relative ease
if it were any other Spider-Man, be it from the live action film's or animated universe's, they probably would've preformed the same if not worse than yuri's Spider-Man did against these guys. nowadays people think losing fights automatically equals to being weak no matter how strong the other opponents are built up to be beforehand

The other Spider-Man media was brought up as superior examples as one can assume it would be more fun to have our protagonist win, I legit named off every piece of Spidey media just about. Especially with symbiote examples of similar enough content like Spiderman 3 and Web of Shadows where he wins fights by himself even with the red suit.

The scream example is also not applicable- he was emotionally unstable, physically exhausted as stated in a phone calls with Connor’s prior to the fight, and held back more than ever since it’s MJ…. And it still counts as a victory as his intention was never to beat Scream, but to rescue his love interest…. And that’s exactly what he does (again with the red and blues although idk what’s so important about that specific costume)

@@ultamatejoker8282 Also most of the fights with peter I don't have an issue with, besides where peter gets stabbed and scream. Because of the fact that it could've been used as a boss where you actually lose. With the scream fight the whole point of it was him to get the symbiote off of mj, not to outright beat her so he was holding back significantly. Even with that he held his own extremely well in that fight. He only really got choked by her. With sandman if it wasn't for Peter's thinking both miles and peter would've lost because he was the one who came up with the arm laser thing to beat him. For the boss where miles and peter fought, peter was literally holding back because he was extremely conflicted because of the symbiote. Like throughout the fight he regains more and more control over himself so he wouldn't want to hurt miles. If he wanted miles dead he would be. And for the venom fight, it took both miles and peter to take him down because that's how powerful that version is. Even with that he not only gave peter a hard time but miles as well.
I have a lot of problems with the story, but I'm not sure if it's something from Insomniac or Sony.
Like, bruh, miles arc from his solo game was undone just so he could become Adidas Man.

The hype was there for the first game, I felt it, I loved it on PC, but even in my second playthrough I already began feeling off so for real, cope to the brim!
I've been seeing the sentiment being thrown around. Calling Insomniac Spider-Man 2 a Masterpiece is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. And the portrayal of Black suit Spider-Man is very much *tame* then how it is depicted in other forms of media.

Two main things:
1.) They have a woke agenda and it is super obvious, they want to trash on Peter because he’s white and they want to shoehorn Miles in his place as a better character because he’s “more diverse.” It’s not even just Sony behind this but Marvel themselves too.
2.) The plot writing was absolutely garbage and they didn’t leave room for THE DAMN MAIN CHARACTER of the game to be handled with respect.
3.) Marvel hates Spider-Man and they also hate the original versions of each white male hero. But they just got lucky and played it clever when it came to destroying Peter Parker and they’re getting away with it.

Spidey wasn't really nerfed. It's more of the fact that the people he had no idea about the power that the people he fought had such as Kraven. Considering it was his first-time fighting Kraven and he had no prior knowledge of how powerful he was other than a short video of Kraven killing scorpion which still didn't prove Kraven's power. All it showed is that he was capable of killing scorpion which was never really a hard feat. And when you bring up how he fought the lizard with the symbiote and other adaptations where he uses it. It indeed does make the fights easier, and it is implied in all media. And when you bring up shattered dimensions it's a completely different character meaning different power scaling. Some points I agree with but there are some things that can be debunked.

This is also a narrative adaptation problem the reason Kraven hunted Spider-Man in the first Place is that Spidey is supposed to be his greatest hunt as in he sees Spider-Man as a threat and has to use all his skills, potions and traps to hunt Spidey. By making him casually scale above spidey you destroy the point of the character he is a highly skilled street level villain for a reason! He's in the same Tier as Wolverine, Captain America, Black panther etc. He's supposed to be punching above his weight not down! By transfering that target to venom you make him a venom rival and spidey just so happens to be there which is stupid! That's like making Joker obsessed with Azrael instead of Batman and sidelining Batman in his own story it's a huge problem and nobody is talking about it and it's driving me crazy!
