I grew up in a Small Town (About 3000 People) then when I got out of the Navy moved to a City (Over 300,000 People) and now in a Large Town (About 30,000 People). I would rather live in the Country.

It is rather easy to be critical but at least they are trying. The stories are improving.
These are usually sourced in non-English speaking countries and machine translated and read. Cultural differences and social structures are not accounted for and the use of American locations is a marketing effort with no effort to research locations, laws, monetary amounts and the like are often confusing. I love the substitution of Nebraska for rural farming regions - and lately Ohio being treated as a city. Recently, they have attempted gender neutral language, more confident women and everyone noe seems to work from home in some commercial artistic endeavor.
It's insulting to us in the US. They are so ashamed of their culture, they think they can change it up to the US and we will buy it. I swear these things only exist to insult.

@@paulredinger5830 Which means the stories weren't changed enough. I live in SE Arizona. Back in the 1990s, a Japanese pen pal spent a year at Arizona State, up north. We drove up to bring him to our home for Thanksgiving. We live a four-hour drive away. I still recall his astonishment at seeing mile after mile of desert and that we just drove there and back as if it were no big deal.

I really don’t understand these parents attitude that their thoughts or feelings really have anything to do with their children’s decision to marry or breakup. I get that couples would like their families to at least get along but it really doesn’t matter if they like each other.
