They would be more likely to for the trick that works first and then repeat it. A baby would be smart if they could recognize which block is intended to go into which hole. However as adults it is expected that they should be able look at a block and then find the hole that it fits into. Pattern recognition if you may. However showing that all blocks fit the same hole proves that the adult is able to think outside the box (no pun intended) and show that the patterns are not necessarily the only correct choice.
