So, you need to teach Rhett Shull how to balance his voice to guitars. He whispers and then tries to deafen me with random guitar playing. You have loud voice settings, and loud guitar settings. And it’s balanced between both.
My videos used to suck cause I didn't know what balancing tracks was. I see a lot of people mess this up, but it's not as easy as it seems sometimes hahah. If I ever get the chance I'll tell Rhett 🤣🤣
The most annoying thing about any gear demos is this. Talk talk talk then suddenly guitar waking up my neighbours and baby starts crying because someone doesn't listen to it when editing and think that it's super annoying for their target audience.
You are a really good & versatile guitarist!!! Your playing is very expressive.
Lmaoo I'll be at 42 Gear Street this year, I'm already dreading it cause everyone there is gonna shred the shit out of me hahah
the expressiveness is the fan he turns on while hes playing to blow his hair back 😂
I think everything he's playing is someone elses?
That wireless feature seems like someone finally did it right. Ive been thinking about getting a headless guitar, Ill look into one of these. Thanks!
Everything about this has my attention in all the right ways.
Dude great vid man
Thanks to Moore for supporting SixStringTV! I hope you guys will continue to do so.
If I may suggest one more thing, I wish Moore would make 24.75” GTRS models. They all seem to be 25.5” (not counting multi scale), and tons of players prefer short scale since they’re generally easier to play. I hope Moore will do that at some point. Would be amazing if they could offer each model with a choice of scale length.
Other than that, it seems like an amazing guitar. I’ve seen them before and always wondered if it’s a huge gimmick that falls short like other “smart” guitars. I’m glad to hear that you like the quality and playability. You’re correct that this is not for stadium gigs, but one could certainly do smaller gigs with it, play at home or on the road, etc. - that’s meant in a very positive manner, btw. Moore knows their target audience and is creating products that will speak to the masses. The easier it is to play and the more affordable (saving on pedals, software, etc.), the more likely someone will actually use it rather than quitting!
I have a pink one and it is my go to guitar. 100% I love adore it. I don’t even use the Smart Guitar stuff
Ur videos keep getting higher quality. Good job man keep it up.
Thanks! 😎
Doing sponsored content like this helps with that hahah. Currently working on getting a proper camera and editing rig going
I've always loved Mooer. I used to have a travel-sized pedalboard with all of their stuff. Glad they've dipped their toes into the guitar market with something reasonably priced with great specs, especially in the guitar economy right now.
Bro...your t-shirt collection is straight up unmatched.
You know it 🙏🏻
Always love to see more options for headless guitars. I prefer headless models, and these look especially great for the price.
Mooer make guitars now?
SLAYER!
Great review! I’m definitely interested!
Wooaah that neck looks so nice ! and it seems to be a cool and interesting guitar !!
That looks sick
Very tempting!
Mooer seeem to have made an awesome work with this GTRS line!
You're the Goat at shredding
Not EVEN close but I will take the compliment and run before you see me next to someone who can actually play 🙏🏻
Great video.
That is a pretty neat guitar. I feel weird saying this but I think actually want one of those.
That's pretty cool! I like the sound too. I hope the app is still installable and executable after 5 years and not like other abandoned products which get hard or impossible to run. I'm not excited about having to replace a worn out 0 fret either, but I can see they offer other more traditional models without it.
Depends on the materials it's made from.
If it's stainless steel it's going to be a fairly long time before you even need to worry about dressing it, let alone replacement.
Nickel, but still gonna last pretty much forever
Wanted to check the website, and said link is either broken or has been hacked and to not continue to site. Which sucks cause that guitar looks like it would be pretty cool to get
Lmao the site is safe, feel free to use it. Google GTRS W900 and go to a music dealer's website. I will tell Mooer there's something weird going on with their site. Cheers!
@@sixstringtv1 yeah, I will gladly use your affiliate link and make the purchase if they are able to fix that. Cheers to you and thank you once again for a great demo like usual.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The website doesn't actually make me any money, only the Thomann link hahah
Owing to you Is it possible to change pickups on a w900… to have better tones when battery is low
The stock pickups are awesome. I'm sure it's possible to change them but they specifically advise you not to open up the guitar cause the electronics in it are more complex than in a regular guitar
what is that song from 4:37 and from 4:45? I know it but can't put my finger on it. Overkill? Annihilator? Lich King?
That was probably Seasons In the Abyss from memory
@@sixstringtv1 right, of course :D dumb me
I'd seen previous versions of these like a Strat style or something, and it just seems overcomplicated. Any time I try to get fancy with my stuff, I end up just creating more problems so I go back to a simple setup again. Not really the guitar for me, but I think being able to plug headphones right in and get good guitar tones would be handy.
Glenn will hate it, unless you give him still just the DI. :D
Can you attach a prosthetic head to it so it doesnt look like something youd play on the Enterprise Holodeck or gig with in the Cantina at Mos Isley Spaceport? Dont get me wrong, Ive been moaning about lazy guitar manufacturers avoiding putting onboard effects into guitars. GTRS apparently reads my youtube comments or has at least half a brain in this regard enough to sell something everyone wants. Sounds good. Costs a grand. Time for the Big Three to get skinned for juuust long enough for Mooer to become rich enough to resist being bought and ruined, then get the message and start putting this stuff on Fenders/Gibson/PRS's. Good.
Link says the guitars are no longer available at Thomann.
They're definitely available here, maybe not in the US
@@sixstringtv1 ahhh, that would do me in. thank you.
This is like the ultimate travel guitar. Would be amazing if you didn't need an audio interface. If Moorer had PC software that you could connect the guitar to via Bluetooth or something🤷
Technically all you'd need is one of those tiny USB interfaces for 10 bucks with one jack input.
Horns up for the Slayer riffing 🤘🏻
That guitar looks amazing
I love when the neck as a strip of wood going through.
Me too. Most guitars actually don't need it, since it was originally a way to insert the truss rod on maple fretboard guitars if the neck and fretboard were the same chunk of wood, but it became a style choice along the way 🤷🏻♂️
@@sixstringtv1but muh WeNgE neck structural integrity stripe 😢
Dammit, now I want one. The green one though. I've been eyeballing one since they started advertising them.
If you're European buy it through my Thomann affiliate link! 😂
Great piece of content my guy.
Maybe you can do some Mooer pedals Vs expensive pedals someday?? Always been curious about moooer pedals but only ever bought a looper. Tend to stick to the brand names but I wanna venture out. Keep the content coming 💪🙏
I know I'm late to this. I've had one question about this brand and their guitars. Is it easy to swap the battery or if you use it for 5 years will the battery health go to shite and you'd be forced to use a cable for it and effectively it becomes a normal headless guitar?
Battery is very swappable!
Does the last used sound stay in each bank? That would make it that you can choose the sound you like in each bank and just change it up with a push of the button.
I believe that it resets to the last set default, but you can set them with the corresponding editor application.
With the Bluetooth pedal they offer separately it extends to 4 banks with four presets each that you can switch between on the fly rather than needing to push the button to cycle through them in order
the links to this guitar are dead, has it been discontinued?
No. the US Thomann link is dead cause it's out of stock there
Hi can someone recommend me how to maintain maple fretboard because I recently bought my first maple fretboard guitar.
If you can swap those pickups... Oh, my, the possibilities. Also, if you can put active pickups in there... YIKES! GAS ACTIVATED!
The manual says not to take the pickguard off since obviously the electronics in this guitar are much more complicated than normal. That doesn't mean it's not *possible* but I wouldn't do it hahah
Nice lamb of god riffage
Great review! Does the Software have a pitch shifter to practice in other tunings? This would be a definite argument towards buying one for me
It actually does! One of the pedals is a pitch shifter. Goes 12 semitones up/down
@@sixstringtv1 ah very nice !! Thanks for the fast reply! Is the pedal movable ? Meaning, do the pedals all have a Fixed Position in the Chain or is it possible to move them around?
Update:
Purchased the guitar - the pitch shifter is not that useful unfortunately. The wet Signal is not isolatable - or I can't find the right setting - which makes it kind of useless. I hope Mooer can improve that in a patch or future Update
I have a strandberg and i love it, idk how id like a headless strat tho
It's *very* comfy. But I'm biased to S shapes anyway
so weird they went through the effort of slimming it down so much, but didn't do the thigh cut like a strandberg
Sweetwater link says it's no longer available 😂
Lmao I just said sweetwater in the video not knowing they don't actually carry it 😩
Sorry, I actually meant to say Thomann.
Looks like an Axe, plays like an Axe but it’s MOOER.
Cool fiddle, but we definitely don't see eye to eye on what constitutes "bad ass" when it comes to looks. Maybe there's more to the odd looking carve at the upper and rear part of the body than meets the eye, I.E. perhaps it makes it super comfortable, more so than a more traditional comfort carve for your forearm like for example a Fender Strat, but that seems unlikely. Maybe it's got something to do with me having been around since not long after we invented fire, but I would consider myself far from a traditionalist when it comes to the visuals on guitars. I've liked a number of guitars that were strongly disliked, if not despised by traditionalists and I've loved design differences on Gibson Les Pauls that were almost universally hated by the vast majority of Les Paul fans, like the gecko burst paint I think it was called. Given the killer features and apparent quality, if the guitar you received is representative of the majority of their supply and not a lucky accident or hand picked for a reviewer, I wouldn't let the looks deter me from buying one if I were in the market for such a marvel of functional design and tech (near) wizardry, but for me looks aren't very near the top of the list of must haves for me to start with. Maybe you young whipper snappers are more likely to really dig the looks than us fossils who had a pet velociraptor as a wee lad, but in addition to the ungainly looking body carve, the bit that isn't a headstock kind of looked like they stuck a chunk of unfinished 2x4 to the back of the top of the neck for some reason in the wide shots and my first impression of the pick guard was that I thought it might have been 3D printed or something. Hopefully in person it's more apparent that it's actually metal, because mistaking it for a 3D printed piece instantly made me think "cheap looking af" and if it's actually functional for shielding purposes that would be a definite tick in the "they actually thought about things" column for Mooer. Also, the headstock "weirdness" that bugged me at a distance doesn't look nearly as bad to me when you brought it in for a closer look. My rambling is me mostly just giving you a few light jabs in the ribs because you seem so excited about looks that in part land it in "fugly" territory for me and it's all in good fun for me, so no offense intended. The ugly girls need and deserve love too and it's great that you're here for them. Also, maybe try decaf, kiddo! ;)
They make strat shaped ones as well, though they are not multiscale.
It looks like the same factory that old legators came out of.
Well, the shape looks similar, the factory probably isn't
@sixstringtv1 Ps, your channel is pretty awesome. You are brutally honest and pretty good at playing guitbox. I hated it in the beginning, yet over time your rants have grown on me. Thanks for the content. My apologies if my legator comment sounded negative. It was not intentional.
i mean it looks cool
Is this made by a subsidiary of strandberg?
Hahah no, it's made by Mooer Audio
i always enjoy hearing a song i recognize emerge out of your testing riff salad
It's a pain to edit the riff salad cause really the raw footage is just me noodling for 20 minutes
@@sixstringtv1 i think ur choices are good they highlight a good range of diff sounds and play styles
I'm sorry bro, but I'm not a headless guy. Great video.
I was annoyed at all the effects in the demo at first. I was like "how is this a good sound demo of the guitar if there's all these effects on it?"
Lmaoo
The perfect video to watch while eating Chinese food, let's gooooooo
Lmaooo
How appealing is a headless Super Model?
I always like when you throw some old slayer riffs in there :)..but I hate that guitar. The only useful built in feature on a guitar would be a tuner...it would also free up space on the pedal board...I know this would free up space too, but too many drawbacks...and I think it's ugly...I don't like headless. liked.
They have a regular HSS Strat style one too!
@@sixstringtv1 Booo!!!! strats are sss anything else is sacrilege ;)
Slayerrrrr
Kinda cool, but price doesn't seems right.
Basically it's just a guitar with mooer/nux plug in it.(which also could be used with any of your guitars, not with only this one)
For near 500 it would be cool (as a guitar to trow into the car in case of)
But for nearly the price of japanese made rg550 - easy pass.
Much better than one of those shitty nux amp plug things lmao. You're paying for build quality too. It plays insanely well. If you're not willing to pay for it that's fine, but the price is more than justified.
@@sixstringtv1 I believe that all low to middle budget modern nux\mooer\harley benton\valeton\flamma etc plugs(and even processors between themselves) are using more than similar hardware and even firmware. Differences are only in PC\Android apps skins, if they obv have one.
5:11 that was sexual dude
Nuno knows how to write a riff 😩
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣
That’s the way yah do it
You know this is cool as shit but something just occurred to me in the last 30 seconds of the video
Everything in this guitar aside from the battery & the magic switch & wireless stuff is just a normal guitar
So? Take all the shit out & put it into whatever guitar you might find more use with that in it, or hell, just make this a normal guitar with a killswitch
Would you say the quality of the guitar on it's own is worth $900+?
For sure.
@@sixstringtv1 I have a Line 6 Variax and Spark40 amp. I rarely use either. The variax is nice for immediately changing tunings. But I'm afraid I'll just waste another grand on another cool looking gimmick. Lol
Say the guitar is no longer available on Thomann.
It's very available! thmn.to/thoprod/553982?offid=1&affid=2069
@@sixstringtv1 It says to me it is no longer available. Is that because I am in the USA? says this "The product Mooer GTRS Guitars Wing 900 Int APU is regretfully no longer available."
Im really surprised that you tried this out given your opposition towards the previous Mooer guitar in your “Amp Simulators are inferior” video. Would you say your sentiment has changed towards the topic or is it merely just the sponsorships alone? I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it or accusing you of anything because like you stated, your opinion hasn’t changed due to the sponsorship. It’s just interesting the sudden change after Blug and etc. Just curious about your take on this.
Just spending a full week with one and testing it in depth has changed my view a lot. Especially since I wasn't aware it'd be a fantastic guitar even without using any of the digital features. Plus Bluguitar amps are fully analogue and even partially tube powered! No simulation there 😎
another swiss army knife guitar that is advertised at being the best at everything, when in reality its not even close to the best at anything... I think its cool if you're just looking to have fun and experiment with sounds to find what you ultimately like, but then I'd probably invest in something that does that style and sound best. I just don't hear enough depth in the sound, it all seems a bit thin and flimsy to me, but that also seems to be a lot of modern metal, having the sound coming mostly from pedals and effects rather than just the amp and guitar, I mean shit, you could make a country gentleman chug and squeal wheel just the same with all those effects, but you'll never make a guitar like that ring and chime like the Gretsch would... it just sounds flat. I'm not really against these novelty guitars, I'm just against them being paraded around as more than they are in reality.
WTF M8 1:20 to 1:24 ! You shouldn't use pre recorded audio in a guitar review. P.S I like your channel though.
Wym pre recorded, all the audio is pre recorded. I can hardly record it after the video can I
This is a rhythm and a lead track, both of which were recorded on camera
@@sixstringtv1 AH, that was a D chord. I am sorry
No matter how good they are, headless Guitars are hideous!
They make a strat version too!
tell me if i'm wring didn't you say that you didn't like guitars that have built in distortion effects etc. i remember a video of you being very critical of plugins and things like this guitar and more for rel amps and shit because the way to get there was better. I remember you saying something like "if i went to a show and i saw a guitar that has built in amp, effects etc i would leave". you do say in the video that this isn't for musicians gigging but it still feels weird. If so this is a bit hypocritical man. sorry for the broken sentences
Spending an extended period of time with one definitely altered my view quite a bit. I don't think that's"hypocritical", that's called changing your mind? 🤨
I'm definitely still not a fan of just plugging it into the PA at a show and gigging that way, I think that's a bit lame. But that's not what it was made for.
I've spent most of my time with this guitar playing it through a real amp without any digital stuff on because of how killer it is that way
Ok but does it sound good in pee?
First-time viewer. Watched with anticipation until the part where you have a fan blowing your hair.
WHY?? So silly. Please ask the guitar to include the fan in the list of everything it changes.
Cause it looks cool
@@sixstringtv1 to you
It's my channel isn't it
@@sixstringtv1 Yes and hopefully you can find people who want a combination hair and guitar channel to subscribe if that’s your thing. Definitely not mine.
Bro take a hint, nobody gives a shit
I must say, its unspeakably ugly to me.
50s Les Paul/Stratocaster, the end, no need to invent other crappy guitars.
the thomann link is dead lmao
Works perfectly fine for me? thmn.to/thoprod/553982?offid=1&affid=2069
I'm thinking the link may have a regional issue. It says it's not available everytime I go to it.
