But if you take a serious enough consideration, I believe you will find out many interesting things about movie's performance! Try out Shawsank Redemption's Tim Robbins performance in 1994 and Micheal Douglas performance in Falling Down (1993), I thnk you gonna see the difference here. The point is not about hard work, since other actors also put lots of effort in their performance too, we must jugde on the quality of the performance, dont let anything else let in :)

I was born in 1980 so I am kind of for the first time in my forever (as the frozen song would say-or practically forever) aware of 21 year olds who have no CLUE. I have a younger cousin that age so you would think it would make sense but somehow it is like WOW. I don't know it is like when you live your childhood you don't think about it as dated and before you know it is. I don't think I even meant super old movies I just thought about stuff like GWH and such again and realized 15 year olds seem Ben and Matt as "old people" let alone how old this guy is featured in Forrest Gump. Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump; if you win an Oscar with a field like that, it's pretty much the biggest acknowledgement of all time. Even though Pulp Fiction is my favorite movie of all time, and Shawshank Redemption lies well in my top 5, this award was well deserved.
+Rasmus Eskesen he had not competition in the actor category that year. Morgan Freeman was more like a secondary role, so John Travolta. It wasnt best work from Paul Newman and Nigel Hawthorne wasn't a popular actor.

I didn’t think I would see what the world has seen in Forrest Gump
I've seen Forrest Gump countless of times and seeing this brought a tear to my eye. It's one of those films that shows how lucky you are in life. Tom Hanks plays that character so true and so humble it's unbelievable. Everyone should have a Forrest Gump in their life no matter what. Pure love and pure friendship. What else could a person ask for. Do everything for someone but never ask for anything back. Ano it's a fictional character but I wish I had a Forrest Gump close to me at times. Morgan Freeman and John Travolta were amazing. But Tom Hanks... Tom's in a league of his own. Just ask yourself, could anyone possibly pull off Forrest Gump the way Tom did? How would you describe the movie without Tom?

ok, my second thought is Shawshank Redemption is way better than forrest gump, and Morgan Freeman deserved that Oscar instead of Tom Hanks.

carlos tejada ive heard that some liberals dont like forrest gump for the reason that they believed the movie was a contrast between a liberated and a conservative characters of young people wherein the free spirited and liberated jenny wasted her life while the conservative forrest adhered to his moms advise and put his life into good use.
@@henriliimatainen8701 Shawshank Redemption is a better film than Forrest Gump in my opinion, and both did amazing in their roles, but Forrest was a different character, more difficult to portrait than Red which could have been subbed for another actor more easily than Forrest
When comparing the actors nominated for these roles it's important to remember how incredibly challenging it must have been to bring Forrest to life. It had to be approached in juuuust the right way to make him feel authentic and emotionally honest. Tom hit it out of the park.

Tom Hanks is one of the best actors in the business. Forrest Gump is a classic. I'm watching it right now in 2019. Tom is just an all around good human being.

Forest Gump is a good movie but before that there was a movie from Tamilnadu in South India called Nayagan a tamil movie by actor Kamalhassan and directed by Maniratnam , by nowhere Nayagan is inferior to forest gump I do request all forest gump fans to watch this movie Nayagan basically in Tamil then you will understand and realise this kind of forest gump story is long done on Tamil movie industry I do congratulate forest gump but do celebrate Nayagan by Kamalhassan from Tamil movie , please do watch the original Tamil version not the Hindi one, Nayagan was released during 1987 in India.
Damn those are some really close movies. In that situation Tom Hanks definitely wins out for Forest Gump, but that was a year with a lot of great films
