Nice video my Encoder has jumped the odd frequency for years now but only does it when I change frequency fast. Might just change mine as I really like the push to do the span seems like a pretty good mod. I've done a few mods to mine over the years always loved this little radio it's got me all over the world. Cheers for the info really appreciated

Good video mark specially the mention of the thumbscrews as not all know that until the radio gets damaged , and I like the mod on the vfo encoder the push for the span option would like todo that too the lincoln I have here in the shack just need the info on the 2 wires how it’s done !

I don't have a link , But an ALPS, Or BOURNE will do the job, Loads in eBay .... As I don't have the Lincoln anymore I'm unable to measure anything up , But fitting is very straight forward 👍

Hi got a Lincoln today from a friend that past away. I turned it on but after a while it started smoking around the end transistor. I turned power supply off. I saw then my power supply was putting out 16 volt. After i Turn the voltage back to 13,8volt I Turned it on again but Lincoln did nothing, only the power supply made a weird noise. Any idea ? Thanks so much.

Hi .... 16 volts really shouldn't have caused any issue , It's a bit high , But not really high enough to cause smoke from the radio , I'm guessing that it wasn't the supply voltage at fault but something in the Lincoln itself , Possible a electrolytic capacitor has gone short circuit , Or possibly something loose has shorted out ? ... Without actually seeing the radio and doing a few tests it's really difficult to say what caused it .

Without seeing the actual encoder I really can't help much.. But I would assume another encoder from a different radio would basically do the same job.

Hi, Do you still have the RANGER 811H Power AMP? I'm looking for a video on how to use (1st Amp I've ever had). Is this something you could do?

I dont have the Ranger anymore, That went a while ago, But, Most valve amps work the same, ...Eg,,, Dip the plate current and peak the load .
