ALL COMMENTERS: the subtitles from the original video have been included in the English subtitles of my video. Everyone keeps asking how else they can see it, so there you go. That's how.

Yes, the English subtitles are turned on but completely covered with your massive link to your website. No one can read them This was poorly positioned and covers the subtitles. Perhaps should have been posted only for part of the video.

Thank you for posting this reaction! Your expression as you said, "Hmm, not rethinking my life choices at all..." was PERFECT! As many times as I've heard this performance, this is the FIRST time the lyrics to the song were included in the subtitles! Some reviewers actually asked if she was singing in English. Also, the subtitles incorrectly identified the blonde lady just before and after she went onstage as her mother, THREE times! Her mother is the blonde lady in the black leather jacket, wiping the tears from her eyes backstage when she realizes that she just lost her daughter to the world. Her mother didn't speak during this recording!

Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Audions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on TH-cam before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " 💯 *AJ* 💯

I always enjoy your reactions to Angelina. Just in case you haven't read the story before of why Angelina always sings barefoot, here is a summary of her book she had published when she was 9 years old becoming the youngest published author in Norway's history.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
I, along with other angels (fans) have been suggesting reaction channels do a better job of supporting the aspiring artists they feature. Please provide links to the original video and to the TH-cam channel for the artist. Since so few people read the description, please verbally encourage your viewers to use those links to boost the analytics for the artist.

You have not yet even scratched the surface. Carry on with Angelina reactions, you will realize what that guy meant. She has an uncanny ability to communicate the feeling of a song and make you hear its message. It is quite a profound talent. As a young artist yourself you might try to learn how she is able to do that.

Yeah, the last half of 2021 was extremely rough for me. So to let out all the frustration, I would intentionally choose songs that'd make me cry. Why? I needed to feel understood and found very very little ability to communicate my needs to my parents at the time (with whom I still live with and love so dearly). At the time, the only thing I had to show that something was off about me was irritability: I was extremely irritable in front of everyone. It's like nothing right in front of me mattered the whole time. And even still to this day, I have one special song (just like Gloomy Sunday) that has not only made me feel understood but reminds me of the mistakes of my own doing that went into the trauma. (Usually trauma happens because of other people AND me.) This song is called My Once Upon A Time from Disney's Descendants 3. The main girl in the film basically yells at herself for for keeping alive the trauma of her upbringing and finally had it with her parents. The core parts that made her who she was as she grew up before the end of the first film were still with her up until that point. That's when she finally let it all go since those core parts merely caused damage and emotional pain to her life. So I used songs like those to remind myself of who I am as I tried to push through that rough patch. From one old soul to another, this is my version of hers.

(born Angelina Jordan Astar; 10 January 2006) is a Norwegian singer whose audition for the 2014 season of Norway's Got Talent, singing "Gloomy Sunday" in the style of Billie Holiday, became a viral video online and brought her worldwide press coverage at the age of eight.[She went on to win the competition with her performance of George Gershwin's "Summertime". Since then she has worked to raise millions of dollars on behalf of environmental causes and children's charities around the world. She always performs barefoot, after befriending a young shoeless girl and giving her shoes to her. Jordan wrote a book about the experience and became the youngest published author in Norway.

Great statement of yours: "Hmmm...not rethinking my life choices at all.
Just seeing how she's able to, um (clicks tongue), control how you feel.
    Wowsers. Yeah..."
Just a friendly suggestion 😀 to move the video higher on the screen when you have subtitles. Your own title at the bottom of the screen blocks the video subtitles. Thanks for the reaction!

Great reaction - yes Angelina was born to sing, but more than that she has such a skill at story telling, she makes us feel a song, not just hear it.

It’s such and earth shocking performance to see this little wisp of a girl rocking to the tips of toes channel this intensely sad song. If you listen to Billie’s version you will notice how close her singing came. Just amazing!
