I’m not a DM but I’ve grown to understand why my DM runs. For mine, it’s fear of rejection and feeling he’s not good enough for me. I’ve been the runner and the chaser in my journey. When I ran from it, it was simply because the connection scared me. I thought maybe it was one sided and everything he was saying to me was just a game to him. I sincerely thought he was playing me. My own inner trauma caused me to be triggered by his love. I know it sounds crazy. But everyone has their own trauma wounds that cause them to act irrationally. I hope this helps.
