the music with the short shorts and new balance sneakers really makes this video, good job once again cold steel. production value really shines through
I need about 50 of these throwing stars from Cold Steel. Yes, I said need. Lynn, some of these prepubescent dorks want to make fun of your portly form but I sure would not want to be against you with that aim of yours and a pocket full of these bad boys. Keep up the great work. I'm a huge fan. Have been for 30 years.
Just got my sure strikes in the mail today and good god these are incredibly dangerous and simple to use! Cold Steel does it again! Lol keep up the good work!
I own 2 of these, the light and the medium. Defiantly buy the medium. In my opinion the heavy is just to hard on the arm to throw and the light will not stick but rarely. The paint is good and only paint that is worn off is where the edges of the star go into the wood. They are amazing. I have had throwing knifes and stars break, but these are rock solid and not much more. Why would you not buy these?
+cole emslie ,so the "heavy"1 is to heavy?,iam looking to buy me first shuriken,so i need some advise, these ones look good quality, and i seen video`s of light shuriken that diddent stick on target,so i thought more heavy is better, but what exactly do you mean ,its to hard on the arm?
After a while the heavy one may start to make your arm sore. It depends how strong you are but for me the mediums are amazing as they stick practically every time and are easy to control and I can throw them all day no problems. This is just my preference and I do not own the heaviest one, but in the store it just felt like after a while it would make my arm sore and tired. Like I said this is just my preference. And the light ones stick about %75 of the time but they seem to curve in the air and can be a bit hard to control since the don't weigh much. I throw mine at 3/4" plywood and the tips stick out on the other side sometimes when I use the mediums so they have plenty of power.
+cole emslie oke thanks, its a good tip,i prob.will go for medium then, because if it stick its oke,or maybe i buy both, but to be shore i will order the medium aswell,so if the heavy is gonne make my arm tired/sore i can use it to throw just sometimes in between, thanks
I had an issue one time with a CS product. Their customer service was stellar and took good care of me. At the time I was a 10 year customer of theirs. That was 5 years ago and my collection keeps growing. My daily carry is an old school CS "Night Force" lockblade I just put a razors edge on yesterday. Buy with confidence.
I'm a huge fan of ninja and ancient Japan in general and this looks like one of the best shuriken I've seen, I'll have to save up my money to buy a few. Can't have just one now can I? Lol keep up the good work with all your stuff, it's all high quality and I should know. I bought a set of medieval training daggers and a one handed sword from you and I haven't put a dent in the things yet.
well this is a coincidence, i was looking through your catalog that i got the other day, and low and behold you guys do sell shuriken (on the arizona site, did not know that was there) and i see this video on my youtube homepage. how convenient.
The guy might be heavy, but he knows how to swing, stab, and throw like a pro. May not have stamina, but I believe he'd be a one swing, one kill in a fight.
Something to note. I was looking at the California penal code definition of Shuriken. It stipulates "one or more sharp edges". The Sure Strikes I got didn't come with sharp edges. So they should be legal in CA. But more than likely you would still get arrested and would have to fight it in court. But "no sharp edges" gives you an argument to make in court.
Now i love throwing star's, but the real deal ultimate ranged weapon for close combat, is a throwing dart. Like a ranged dagger its unbeatable. Now you guys have things like the torpedo and rpg, but im looking for a real 4 to 5 to 6 inch long, feather or wind guarded throwing dart. They essentially look a lot like a blowdart dart, but there longer, and more triangular, with greater piercing. with more wieght at the tip.
Wow. I bought one yesterday, and I am pretty impressed... those things have PUNCH. I threw one at a board and I had to put my foot on it to get it out hahahaha... but it's all thanks to the demo video that I bought it. Thank you Cold Steel, I
hey cold steel I ordered a medium sure strike and was throwing it and the tip broke off and I really like the throwing star only had it 1 day and it broke can I return it for a new one
@veyronman Cold Steel has an excellent reputation and makes extremely durable products, I bought a tanto in the eighties(?) and loved it, it was stolen in a break in.
@KyuzoHirata I agree. If you watch enough of the cold steel promo videos you see that he's actually pretty well trained in various fighting styles. What is rule #1 in martial arts? Never underestimate your opponent.
@Fa1nTy 1st: It is illegal to carry any type of weapon. 2nd: you CAN carry a gun legally or throwing starts (real name Shurikens by the way) if you have a CCW permit (Carrying Concealed Weapon Permit).
a very good throwing star I got 3 of them. as a gift from some. and I tried. them out. I now plan on getting a lot more of them because that are so good., and what convinced me to get more of them was when I hit a sament wall and it stuck in it one of my good friends that was with me all he could say was damn and he is going to buy some of these to. so yeah do like.
@SouthPads Cause arrows require a bow! But seriously, shurikiens are not mean to be used on field combat, they are usually thrown to put your enemy off-balance or off guard just before you charge them with a sword of other melee weapon.
they replaced it with a heavy one and i had medium before but they ran out, it hasnt arrived yet, it either arrives today, tomorrow, or monday depending on if they have saturday shipping. but should any type of wood work?
im not just amazed by the weapons but also the guy throwing it.. his a dangerous dude
the music with the short shorts and new balance sneakers really makes this video, good job once again cold steel. production value really shines through

Sweatshirt, gym shorts, heavy metal. The true underpinnings of ninjutsu.

"For work today I need everyone to come out to the lawn and throw ninja stars."
Takes out that 2L like a gunshot. Respect.
@veyronman Cold Steel has an excellent reputation and makes extremely durable products, I bought a tanto in the eighties(?) and loved it, it was stolen in a break in.
Thumbs up if you love how the fat guy smiles at the end of almost every video!
@KyuzoHirata
I agree. If you watch enough of the cold steel promo videos you see that he's actually pretty well trained in various fighting styles. What is rule #1 in martial arts? Never underestimate your opponent.
i got three of these, and love them, but they're getting hard to find

Hello, i'm from South Korea and finding my new battlestars for assassinate, but are there any smaller product? its too big for me.
Hes pretty good at this.
your guys must love your job...
that guy has good throwing aim
@Fa1nTy 1st: It is illegal to carry any type of weapon. 2nd: you CAN carry a gun legally or throwing starts (real name Shurikens by the way) if you have a CCW permit (Carrying Concealed Weapon Permit).
@Falconwing yes
@mytarget2 Look when he throws it at the bottle the first time. It looks like after it hits the bottle it flies to the right and lands in the grass.
a very good throwing star I got 3 of them. as a gift from some. and I tried. them out. Q pontaria 👏👏👏👏👏😁😁😁😁
Will you be doing any other shapes such as the senban shuriken? Think that'd be a cool shuriken from you guys.
Have you ever thought of making a razer or cleaver shaped blade? I would really love to buy something like that from you guys.
