Learning Objectives:
Identify the normal sonographic appearance of the bowel
Identify posterior acoustic shadowing
Summary:
Bowel has a characteristic 3 layer wall
The gallbladder has a single layer hyperechoic wall
Gas within the bowel will cause shadowing
sir it is misleading. Please correct it. The outer most is serosa which is echogenic, next is muscularis propria which is hypoechoic, next is submucosa which is echogenic and lastly is mucosa which is hypoechoic.
Submucosa in your video is actually corresponding to Muscularis layer and is well seen , is hypoechoic (!)

isnt the sbmucosa hyperechoic and muscularis hypoechoic?
can we identify the muscularis propia on US? or does this layer blend with submucosa??
The muscularis propria can be seen as a thin echogenic stripe. It is particularly visible with the stomach.
@@RadiologyEducation is not submucosa hiperechoic and the muscalaris hipoechoic under serosa. and another muscularis layer in mucosa?
