  • Hello everybody! Today I want to show you my new restoration video project. I bought this bolt cutter on the scrap yard for 3$. At the beginning I cleaned up bolt cutters from rurst. They have been painted and sharpened. They also got new grips.
Thank you so much for watching my videos!

Enjoyed that but a little more detail explaining the sharpening process would help

Depends on what brand you buy. No name cutters aren't nearly as good as American made which are more expensive.

Well shoot... I didn't realize that I can clamp a drill onto my worktable and have a stable working surface! I need a drill clamp! I'll buy a belt sander later... ;-)

I might be wrong? But i was always told when you are filing something like metal you only Push the file one way? Not back and forth like that?

Hey I just started a resto myself on some bolt cutters. What type of primer and spray paint did you use? Thanks...!

Any idea what brand those bolt cutters are cuz I have the exact same set and I can't find a name on them anywhere

I think mine is called HKP and it is almost exactly the same as the one in the video. The only different is that on the one side of the bolt cutters, where the blades are, there is a tiny flathead screw in the horizontal plate.

@@sapphire8916 HK Porter are some of the best Bolt Cutters out there, especially if they are the American made pair. Newer HKPs are made overseas and aren't as good. No name cutters are less expensive and are low quality that break easily. Hold onto the HKPs, they are worth restoring.

i just bought a 600mm bolt cutter for 9,80€. i don't think it's worth this restoration... i mean if i ask someone to restore it for me, it will cost more than the bolt cutter itself... well maybe if it's a branded one...

Просто ніякого смисла. Бо таке можна придбати просто зараз у будь-якому магазині.
