This guy is so wrong about Scarlett. I beat the train interception EX for the first time thanks to Scarlett burst clearing missles from the train. My EIN could not do that. I switched out EIN for Scarlett. So yeah if you a player like Zoux that spends too much money on this game and has every character then sure maybe for him and him only Scarlett can take a back seat. This guy needs to remember he is the 5 percent. 95 percent of players are not in this scenario
A lot of them don’t consider that their high CP account and most players low CP account doesn’t utilize certain units the same. When Prydwen said Scarlet is better than Black Scarlet in most content they were absolutely right.

I am at synchro 255 now. Pulled one copy of Ein to replace Scarlet on Solo SIMPLY BECAUSE I can never get another set of fcking Pilgrim gears. I think the edge of Ein over Scarlet is no hp loss.

I have OL 10x3 MLB3 Ein and OL 10x3 MLB1 Scarlet, there is no any situation where Ein does more damage than Scarlet given their own set of teams/supports even when my Ein has higher combat power.

the reason prydwen scales scarlet so high in high deficit and boss adds is because she instant kills everything that aren't the elite raptures or bosses. after that all her attack buffs plus full bursts just let her laser those elites or bosses left down to zero. RH, Alice, and SBS might have more damage output but you'd need to be more strategic in what you kill first, whereas scarlet kills everything instantly.
i play at over 30% deficit and 9/10 stages Scarlet outdamages RH by a heavy margin

A majority of endgame players aren't worrying about high deficits, they're more focused on solo and union raids which primarily consist of solo bosses. In that regard Scarlet isn't top ten since her burst skill is practically useless considering her normal attacks can catch up to that damage in less than a single mag. And since she's an AR she'll only perform well against bosses with no pierce and no exposed cores

@@Snootz86 it's really not that difficult to understand. If scarlet can kill every rapture on screen and RH is used to dps down the elites or the bosses, it's pretty easy to understand why Scarlet would outdamage RH. They both serve their uses. SBS is far more situational because of her distributive damage, if you have a lot on screen, especially when things attack fast, you're more likely to die before she can kill them.
So, Scarlet is just like Bay, you won't ever use any cause both are just meh... for you :)
As an owner of both Scarlet and Modernia. Both have their uses and both have their weakness and imo, Scarlet edges out Modernia by a bit.
Scarlet's AUTOS' HITS HARD.. the hardest autos in the game. Because her autos hit like a truck... You know those annoying maps that early spawns the jammers, planes that spit out 1hp bombs that take 50hits to die, and kamikaze bombers that come 2 seconds right after the stage starts... Scarlet clears them out without having you to charge the burst gauge to B3 for clearing them out. By the time the B3 skill is ready.. either someone is dead, you're jammed, or youre busy hitting those 1hp creeper bombs.
The only times when you're really using Scarlet's Burst to screen wipe is when there's too many mobs on screen.
Edge lord Scarlet, Red Hood, Alice, Doro, etc all rely on their Burst skills to do damage. Without their bursts, they aren't doing much.
Trust me ... invest into Drunk Scarlet similarily to your Modernia and you wont regret it.
While I agree with you that Scarlet, in terms of just raw damage, has been replaced by other Nikkes, she is still one of the hardest hitting Electric code DPSs in the game. She has a very simple niche - laser-beam single target AR damage, non-elite mob clearing with her burst, and PVP team wiping. Granted, it comes at the cost of her HP slowly draining away, but we have so many healer supports that she can be dropped on any team. Her flexibility is what makes her good. S!Anis might hit harder, but she requires last bullet shenanigans with Privaty. Ein is also pretty investment heavy. Scarlet will work with Tia/Naga, Bunny Girls, Crown/Healer, or really anyone who can keep the heat off her and heal her when she gets to low HP. You might as well just spend the 4 Custom Modules and get Scarlet to Lvl 0 OL gear to see what she can do.
I still use Scarlet when I need Electric code DPS, mob clearing, DPS in Pilgrim Tower, or someone who hits hard in Solo/Union Raid. I'm at Commander lvl 326, Nikke level 309. Scarlet gets me to Arena Top 3 and SP Arena Top 10 in my server group, Solo Raid Avatar Frame II, and just does work. My team for Campaign and other PvE modes is Crown, Liter, Red Hood, flex DPS, and Rapunzel. Scarlet more often than not goes right in the flex slot, but why shouldn't she? She's 10/10/10 with full OL gear and 2 Max Ammo lines. Though, I will concede that she isn't an auto-inclusion on every team like Red Hood is.
I notice your account has the syncro level at 322 in this video, I would say 80 to 100 more levels in your syncro and you will see that there is a strong emphasis on "how" the damage is applied because at that point you have enough damage to clear the content. With that said, I find great value with the way Scarlet front loads her burst damage, and when its enough to kill I get faster clears over others who need to take several shots or pick off the enemy one at a time.

i don't think so zxous, you never even care for her, what is big damage if that nikke can't do it in an instant. Where talking about instant damage, instant cast of damage, not just scarlet blackshadow can't do it in an instant wipe. Scarlet is still the best burst instant kill, your just talking DAMAGE not the instant wipe of raptures in the screen.
I mean scarlet still does more damage than 80% of the cast even though she’s been there since the beginning of the game… there maybe be more characters released that do more dmg but her dmg is still more than enough to carry you through content in the game (Also I think your scarlet could use a lot more ammo capacity.. 25 is kinda bad)

Scarlet is still one of the best units today. Her and Liter are characters that can be put be put into almost any team comp and it will work. Scarlet moreso then even liter since she will work and benefit from fast reloads like priv Sanis or more ammo with bunny girls. Her UTILITY and Lethality work hand in hand. She is still top in PVP, Bosses, and mob clear.
I once used her as a meat shield with maxed R Doll and Her Skill 2 obliterated everyone who damaged her, was jumping like crazy seeing her singlehandedly wipe the team so easily

I've been disappointed with OG Scarlet since I pulled her. Now I have her full overload gear with max ammo lines, and...yep she still sucks compared to Edgy Scarlet. That, and the fact that one screen clear on full burst doesn't even come close to comparing to Edgy Scarlet's 10 full seconds of constant screen clears.
I'll still use her in solo raid in my second or third team because her combat power still puts her in my top 15-ish strongest characters, but yeah, outside of Solo Raid, I don't even think about her, she's just so insanely inferior to her younger self.
Zxous is right, been had scarlet since the first few months of the game. Besides union and solo raid I never use her. She was the best dps in the game the first few months but now we characters like modernia, red hood, ludmilla winter, Alice, scarlet : bs, summer anis, ein, laplace fav item and more that are just much better than her. Scarlet isn’t as good as she once was 1. because you need to invest into her quite a bit, 2. You need a healer with her and 3. All she has to offer is damage.
You can still make a hard hitter team with her, No need for Alice bunny or Rapunzel. Every campaign team consists of Naga, Redhood, Liter, Crown And the Fifth one is a Flex Attacker. The fifth one is either Modernia (Nonburst) or scarlet, a raw non burst hard hitter is always suggested to the fifth Slot. Scarlet's Skill 1 Fits perfectly just like modernia she's A raw damage dealer With her additional Raw final atk self buff
While yes scarlet fell at some content she's still a Really hard raw hitter and her Skill 3 gets amplified by her Stacks (SKILL1) even in the newest Chapter 31-32 people use her due to her Insta Clear and not some consistent/Sustain damage like modernia
scarlet must have a .001% chance to pull. Took me a full year to get her and never got a 2nd one yet.
Not bad, we just got more options, more teams, more support for different units. What she would need is a support for her specific niche, being low HP for maximum buffs. Mast is sort of like this, putting the damage characters at a pseudo low hp situation without putting them in real danger, but if we had a support that could stick the attackers at like 20% hp and then protect them there it would be even better. Maybe even just a strong taunter + massive shields instead of healing.
I only say this because it would help my Guillotine too. Her and Scarlet are the same character but Scarlet has a nicer burst.
To play devil's advocate(or zxous' advocate i guess). Scarlet definitely is slowly falling from grace IF you're a long-time player with a built up account and here's why.
Personally, i'd say Scarlet's major claim to fame is her low investment cost for high damage, and easy to control or auto playstyle along with a simple-screen-wide aoe burst, no weird timing like dorothy's where you have to build up the damage and "wait" for it to go off. She's definitely built as a hard-to-get but easy to understand high tier character for beginners: skill description isn't complicated, controls are simple and you only need to time her burst for when a lot of enemies or the boss are on screen.
i'd say most of what makes her good doesn't age well as the player and the game progresses because you learn the systems so you can use other great nikkes that may have been hard to wrap your head around how they work when just starting out, or nikke that demand manual control with better shot accuracy and faster reflexes. alice is a great example. scarlet might out dps her at first but in the long term alice will end up superior even if you have both at high investment if you learn how to play her.
So what's left? Likely just her burst, i would say there aren't too many good pure dps aoe burst 3s out there right now, privaty's is more for the stun, 2B's isn't too bad but it definitely needs the build up from multiple uses, there's noir but imo hers doesn't hit as hard late into the game. So scarlet is living off of having arguably the only good single-shot screen-wipe burst 3 combined with low investment, so the moment a non-pilgrim nikke comes out with that type of burst in the 3rd slot and aren't too high of a cost on the skill manuals, it might just be over for scarlet until a treasurs drops for her.
Imo i think the best a scarlet will be able to do going forward to get as much out of her is moving on from general dps to element-focused dps with element dmg in overload along with her other usual substats for electric content since we don't have too many good b3 electric codes in the main pool for her to be threatened there.
Tl;dr Scarlet IS falling off but at a slower rate, her low skill investment is what's mainly saving her along with her being alone in the pool of good b3 aoe single-screen wipe and electric code.
This is near reality but I'd love to see them revamp her Skill2, if they do unrealistically SOMEHOW revamp her skill2 she'd fall from PvP meta but NOT completely she's still a menace there with Jackal + Centi. A revamped Skill 2 scarlet obviously wouldn't immediately put her the most powerful but It would certainly be the most fascinating day (for me) if it were to happen
@fellowcommenter8424 true, honestly I just want to see some kinda change in how arena is played, the meta is basically first come first serve to full bursts or some kind of anti meta with invulerability to block a full burst. I know there isn't too much you can do when it's full auto but hopefully champion arena doesn't fall into the same pitfalls current arena is in

Arena is basically just competing who gets to Burst first and the most famous team as of now (in my bracket) consists Of Scarlet, Jackal, Centi, Biscuit, Noah. There's obviously other God tier teams But DAMN the Burst gen and insta kill is Damm satisfying and Sheepishly Horrible to deal with.
There are also stuns on the other note, Stun the enemy and hope your Raw power is enough to Take them down before they get up and shred yours.
And of course there's also the Brute force team: Alice Team Or Last Bullet Team. Heck put Redhood there who cares lmfao😆

People keep forgetting about weapons. Her weapon is an AR which is usable in any situation. Not to mention giving her increase reload speed, will make her do more dmg in limited time cuz of her weapon.
The only thing that's holding her to completely annihilate everyone in the Meta Brackets is her Skill 2 but her skill 2 is really really useful in PvP, but PvE content wise? Not so much, I can name 4 for certain

Not to mention, u need a healer and a def on almost every team, so she won't die . Second, she doesn't need more amo, give her a reload speed cube, and she reload in less than 1 sec. U just have to build her correctly. Sometimes, she does more dmg than my redhood( 2duped), same lv of eq and crown with naga and Litre. When redhood snipes once Scarlet already empties her 20 mags and then she reloads in less than a sec with reload speed cube, she is a very well-balanced nikke. Trust me
Sorry Zxous, can't agree with you, everybody else has said what I came to say so I won't repeat it. My scarlet for example is full 0W +5 and her skills are 10/9/10. She even has a purple plussie at level 10. She is old yeah, but she still slaps like crazy. Do yourself a favour and invest fully on her and then try to do another video like this to see the diference. Cheers mate

I have to admit, it's getting a bit rough for OG Scarlet lovers out there. Newer DPS units are coming to take her place at the table, but she still slaps.
Well, I think they should have other ways to get the characters . For example by the time you finally got the unit you already had others units that work out. What if the game implemented a mode in which you could earn more pilgrims molds ? That can help players to have at least a bigger chance to the XYZ character before they are no longer need it. Thats just wishful thinking but you never know.

Im f2p but im like at hard mode 28 boss. At least up to thos point. Scarlet is not used regularly at ALL. There are like he said, better characters that do damage and add to the team synergistically. It is somewhat ironic cause this dude says this but uses Bay when the best team for pushing hard mode is already essentially out. And also doesn't use alice.... and also doesnt have a scarlet thats built.
My scarlet is fairly built. The most play she gets is extremely niche stages and... pvp...

I get what you mean by your definition of “fall off” but I think the general term I hear with this situation is “power crept”, where get kit just hasn’t changed for so long and the newer characters all have as or even more powerful abilities to deal with harder gameplay modes. Fall off for me is just someone who used to be good but is now trash, but I get where you’re coming from
No max ammo scarlet is not proper scarlet. Lol still scarlet has two things better than any nikke. Clearing interruptions, and screen wipe.

Modernia and Red Hood are way better than Scarlet in campaign, RH has way better single target damage and Modernia's burst is way better for mob clearing

Whales already dropped scarlet or might have her as her 5th team in Solo-Raids and she is the most underperforming DPS NIKKE in their teams, even our favorite whale Sky already pointed that out for over half a year already on each video he uses Scarlet as the DPS Scale measurement base to determine if a NIKKE will be Good or Not Good, any DPS that can outpeform Scarlet is Good, and "obviously" (Zxous, 2024), if the NIKKE is on par or outpeform Black Shadow/Modernia/Redhood then that NIKKE is GOD Tier, but at the end of the day the Bar for DPS is set way too low with Scarlet nowadays, she was the best back in the day since 4 of nov 2022, but now? nope, she no longer great, she is just a Good unit but not Great. As much as I'd love to disagree and complain about it, I actually agree with this. It's basically how games work, Some old units gets Powercreep'd by Newer ones. Modernia/RH/SBS/Ein but her raw output is kinda argueable. My tip for everyone who doesn't have an insta screen kill, build her if needed so, if you value PvP she's gonna outshine everyone there (technically not everyone but you get the idea) she's still stupidly good with Jacket + centi team. Nonetheless every character has their ups and downs, who knows? Maybe one day Red hood is gonna get replaced by a true damage team, crown is gonna get replaced by a 10 second Unkillable Skill defender. I know it's near impossible but numbers are never zero, and there's already hints of Cinderella, never expect the Meta to last great.
After we get Elysion DUO we will then get a Pilgrim DUO, so Crown will be Powercreep´d just like Normal Scarlet, thats the law of gachas. Im still hoping for a Collab DUO on the level of Schoolgirls and then i can die happy.
In summary, the video isn't about her losing relevance but rather that there are more DPS options in the game. If you like her, you can use her without any issues, even though the title might lead you to believe she is bad now.

For all the nay-sayers in the comments, Zxous is right. In campaign, you're using a maximum of 5 Nikkes. In PvP you're using a maximum of 15. In Solo Raid you're using a maximum of 25. If before you made the team, and now you no longer make the team, by definition you fell off. It doesn't make you bad, but it does mean that you're no longer good enough comparatively to get a standard spot on the team. The more units get released, the more likely older units are to be pushed out by greater competition. It is just how it works.
But that’s just it. People still use OG scarlet in campaign over the units he’s comparing her to and she does better than most of them.

Modernia fell off a cliff. Scarlet is so much more powerful when paired with Crown making her basically have an infinite Clip since Reload is Instantaneous if your skill level isn't trash. Plus Scarlet can Burst and not Lose DPS like Modernia does. Scarlets Autos Hit infinitely harder than Modernias and with Instant Reload she edges her out hard the only good thing Modernia had is now gone with Crown Power Creep

Modernia is fine, doing her job of being high dps. She can slot into any 3rd slot on bosses and do work. The fact that she doesn't need to burst is a boon.
Moderna is still on par. But u’re right. Crown makes Summer Anis and Privaty so unnecessary for Scarlet. And Scarlet still outdamages all the units she’s compared with against mobs. I don’t know why these content creators are trying so hard to make it seem like she’s irrelevant
@@AbdulB Def not on Par Scarlet Destroys Train Rockets in half the time it takes Modernia to do it with Auto Attacks Modernias and Modernia is generally a Sub DPS since her Burst Cripples her DPS Scarlets only downside is now Gone She's edged her out in Sub DPS not even gonna bring up PVP
@@GenryuSaito it’s on par. I’d even say modernia is better even though Scarlet does more damage. Cos modernia sustains that burst for so long and eliminates those pesky little mobs that can one shot at high CP deficit for far longer.
