Great repair here. You know what ? I understand your frustration with the CPU socket but I think that an optical microscope would give you peace of mind is such kind of repairs due to the stereoscopic view and perception of depth.

Jap, probably true. Sadly they are very expensive and its hard to justify it. But it would be a lot nicer!

I can feel the pain looking at the socket. Just got scammed today with an expensive supermicro server board. A lot of the 2011-3 Pins are bend like someone dressed them down using a finger and the way bigger problem is a broken/split DDR4 DimmA1 Slot. Those serverboards are really rare and I need this exact model. Its pretty unique and sells refurbished for atleast 400€... 4x NIC onboard, 8xDDR4 Slots that take LRDIMMS and even 3DS RAM up to 1536GB total RAM. Onboard SAS3008 Controller etc etc.
Since the first RAM Slot is dead, i cant even use the second B rows...
You do repairs by any chance?
I really need this board and the seller even won't give me money back. I'm a bit stuck here.

Just a hint: In order to avoid burning plastic parts I usually use aluminum foil to cover these parts. That worked very well so far for me.

If the socket is bad enough it might be possible to solder the CPU directly to the motherboard although you're probably wouldn't be able to sell it

Probably better off just reflowing a new socket on
