Hi there, this came up in my recommended and I am completely unfamiliar with fencing really but wanted to see more in this style. I particularly like the way that you move where you have to take big steps, anticipating what you are going to do with the blade presumably because it looks so heavy? Anyway really cool but just a cursory glance across youtube, is this "german longsword fencing"? I ask because other clips don't seem to look like the way these two do, maybe it's just a matter of speed but wondering if there's a particular name for this style?
@@sweetsoad Thanks for your comment! We are doing German Longsword but with particular focus on carrying out the style of Joachim Meyer, most other people posting on TH-cam sadly neglect the art of this style and instead do “what works in a tournament”
@@MagnumOrange sorry we made you nervous! Joe and I are quite experienced in the same system of fencing so we both have a good level of prediction over the other’s next move. This makes things like sparring with little protective gear favorable for more mobility
