Me clicking on this video: Oh, lyrebird, I bet it sounds like a musical instrument. Lyrebird: *Sounds like a laser beam shooting monkey robot* I can't stop laughing. Help.
I think the name comes from the tailfeathers. You can see near the end of the video that the tail is framed by two feathers that look like the frame of a lyre.
Lyrebirds often learn their sounds hereditively, and one mimic'd sound can stay in use throughout multiple generations of birds. My question is: who exposed a lyrebird to Star Wars?
Ah yes. I’ll have you know that the dark side commonly recruits lyrebirds. You may have to rewatch the movies if you really want to spot one these fellows
It really does sound like what an “out of ammo” sound would be. Do you think it was stringing different bits of sound it heard together like a mashup mix tape
Steve Thea first off, you put way too much effort into that. Second, I hate that there is like 2 letters I can’t understand. Third, give me translation pls, its hard to read bird.
My service dog just gave this nervous little half growl/half whine. He doesn't usually react to sounds on TV, computer, etc, but I think that bird just broke his brain! 🤣
I moved to South Carolina from the West a few years ago and I just love the Mockingbirds all the different sounds they make. They can't even compete this bird
American Innovations podcast has 3 episodes they put out in May of 2019 that recall the history of how Starwars was made. The guy that collected sounds used for the effects would’ve loved having recordings of this bird I’m sure.
It sounds like there are different kind of birds doing the sounds. So amazing! I’m lucky that I still hear the sounds of birds in our surroundings everyday .They are the natural singers in the rural areas . When dusk comes late in the afternoon, there are so many black birds in big groups on top of the trees as if they are ornamental decorations. It’s so lovely to watch them especially when they fly altogether.
@@minatosensei0315the bird imitates nature. 😅 No humans arent the ones making the sounds so no, humanz arent the ones imitating clearly. Imitation is when you repeat the sound you hear, whos repeating thw sounds in this video!
Billy Hollister I don't play video games but this was the first thing I thought of. It truly sounds like every video out has one of the calls this bird made. 😂😉
Just imagine, teach one of them those crazy sounds and soon all of his lyrebird friends know them too! The whole forest will sound crazy af in no time.
@@jumpiko4553 thats because annoying children are running around in the resort with such toy guns bought from the shady souvenir stand on the market near the hotel... "shooting" around. The bird is mimicking sounds it hears and finds interesting.
So birds are basically evolved dinosaurs with their ancestors DNA witch was witness to the alien wars here on earth responsible for multiple extinctions and he is trying to warn us of the coming Apocalypse, do not raid area 51 so they are not freed to repeat history OK lil guy your so cute...
IloveyouLenaKatina - Wrong! These birds are prolific at mimicry and can easily and perfectly imitate many many noises including machinery such as chainsaws & other birds or animal vocalisations. They are known for it.
The birds sounds like when you discover the Sound test menu in a Mega drive/Genesis or SNES game and go through the all the sound effects one after the other.
Ice Bear the bird doesn’t actually shoot the lasers out it’s mouth, that’s just the intimidation before it unleashes it out its eyes killing everything in its path
And then they'll shag em:^( It's probably trying to guess/find out what group the person comes from and is using its range of learned vocals to communicate with them. If I remember, birds that can mimic noises tend to make their own calls to tell apart who their friends and enemies are. Well idk.
In childhood I have a toy gun, gun change its voice of gun to stanegun to bomb to tank and many more voices, when trigger pull and release, after watching or u can say listen this bird I remember my child hood. Thank u

Shubhankar Shukla Well, if you yell it with a Swedish accent maybe your balls will retract into your body because of cold and a viking will appear under your bed.
Lyrebirds also pass down their songs through generations. Cool story, In the 1930s a flute player owned a lyrebird and then released it into the wild, And the flute playing was adopted by the bird and passed it down through generations
"What is clear, however, is that lyrebirds have a stunning ability to accurately mimic the sounds of the forests they inhabit." What kind of forests has this bird seen?!?
This specific Lyrebird is named Chook (slang for chicken), he belonged to my local zoo in Adelaide. Most of the sounds were from zoo guests or construction work on the zoo He’s been in a ton of documentaries because of his above average mimicry and in person he was always very friendly, last time I visited they explained he’s been retired from meeting guests as he’s getting old (37) and they don’t want to stress him.

I think the name comes from the tailfeathers. You can see near the end of the video that the tail is framed by two feathers that look like the frame of a lyre.

When dusk comes late in the afternoon, there are so many black birds in big groups on top of the trees as if they are ornamental decorations.
