    You just help me tremendously with this video. I got an FX6 for my birthday. I just set it up and after about 30 minutes it started with blowing the mini bubbles. I had no idea why so I started searching your channel and because of this video I realized my intake was directly in the middle of and air stone and was sucking the bubbles in. Unplug the air stone and my FX6 is working like the champ that it is.
    Thank you sir.

    Hey kev can the micro bubbles be beneficial to the fish and plants and add air exchange?

  • @skliris5
    @skliris5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Kev, thanks for another helpful vid. A detail I found out that works when we get an oily surface is that when we use a suction hose, we actually suck water from under the surface. So it would take quite a few cleaning sessions to get rid of the oily surface. Thiis is why it is important to start by taking out the first quantity by using a small cup or bucket by hand, and focusing only on the surface water. After that it's the normal suction drill!

I thought the rubber gasket that seals the canister was a simple band used to hold the hoses during shipping. I cut it and threw it out. I bet you know what happened next! Micro bubbles...after watching your video, I realized my mistake. I've since ordered a new gasket and the problem was fixed. Thanks so much for the help.

    Had microbubbles with my Marineland C360. Drove me nuts. Every few minutes you'd hear that "spewing" noise of air being released. GRRRR!!! Researched a ton online only to discover a boatload of unsuccessful fixes. After many weeks I finally, FINALLY discovered the solution. It has to do with the seeding of the trays inside the canister. They must be PERFECTLY seeded and aligned or you will get bubbles. Even when you think they're in there just right, they're probably misaligned. Now I use a tape measure and after placing each tray inside the canister I measure all four corners from the top of the tray to the top of the canister. All four corners need to match in measurements or else they won't be seeded properly. Perhaps this is overkill but it's better than hooking everything back up only to discover bubbles minutes later and having to re-do the whole process. Thank you for your videos Mr. KaveMan!

    • @KaveManAquatics
      @KaveManAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trapped bubbles could mean your water is oily. Something in the tank or possibly the food you're feeding is adding oil and/or dust to the tank. Water changing will eventually remove those bubbles. But you may want to try a different food.

And yes I added a air stone inside . . Would appreciate your input and thought on this

    My FluvalFX4 started microbubbling out of the exhaust port for no reason. I've read that it could be a trapped air bubble so I simply unplugged it and large air bubbles popped out as it was adjusting its' internal pressure. Plugged it back in and microbubbles are gone. I am by no means an expert but try this before taking the filter apart, it may just need a burping.

    I have a Fluval 207 canister for my 30 gallon tank. I just cleaned out my canister yesterday for the 1st time. Now I have these little tiny bubble floating around my tank. It’s not the size of the bubble my air stone makes. They’re much smaller. But it makes my tank look dirty. I’ve taken the tank apart and made sure it’s all sealed properly and there’s no leaks in the hoses. I’ve been following you for a while and saw this video. First confirm if the bubbles are coming out of your output. if they are, make sure all the trays are seated properly inside, then after you close it back up and seal it. turn it on and rock the canister back and forth. side to side and front to back. Sometimes that helps releasing any trapped air inside

I have a wave maker on the left side of my tank causing surface agitation going from left to right. It doesn’t seem my fluval makes a lot of micro bubbles, because when I turn the wave maker off, bubbles tend to be very minimal. But when both are running, I have tons of micro bubbles. Any ideas?
