2024 #18 Canyon Ridge

This is the only trail in the Mt. Baker Ranger District allowing mountain bikes and motorcycles. Start in an old clear cut on the Damfino Lakes Trail 625 and quickly enter mature forest. In 0.7 miles encounter a junction, take the left fork on Canyon Ridge Trail 689, turn left and continue 0.5 mile to the junction with Boundary Way Trail 688. Take another left to continue along trail 689 and be rewarded with views of Canadian mountains, the Canyon Creek Valley, Tomyhoi Peak and Bearpaw Mountain as well as Mt. Baker. The western section of this trail receives minimal maintenance and route finding may be required. It may be difficult for bicycles, motorcycles and horses.

How were the bugs? We are heading up Excelsior this weekend.

Mosquitoes were present. I applied repellent and had no issues. Not too bad.
