Some wildness is tamed and lost in the process of refining from demo to album but almost always what is gained on a great album outweighs the loss from the demo.

A demo is a makeshift recording under unideal circumstances, an album is a recording under ideal circumstances which allows for the clearest manifestation of the composers vision. There's more to death metal than murky recordings, many classic albums utilise clinical and sterile productions, e.g. Death, Suffocation, Gorguts, if these are not to your taste then you are a certified poseur. Out of the few hundred death metal classic albums maybe only ten of them I can say I dislike the production of, where clarity is eschewed to the point where the music suffers and is indiscernable. I discriminate by quality not by superficialities. I find it really insufferable how the modern metal fan whines about the production of great albums.
as much as i love hardcore - metalcore, old school nyhc, post-hc, melody hc... but there's the one and the only genre which is top for me - it's the pure old school death metal
Proud to say , I still have this on cassette. Much more brutal than the CD version and MUCH heavier than the remix after Jan changed vocal style to the more "hardcore" sound .
