Blooper is the most fun and inspiring pedal I've ever owned. I absolutely adore mine. I'm currently making an album that literally wouldn't exist without this pedal. This is a great demo of it as well

This seems like an awesome tool to create a soundtrack for a movie or game with, especially the sounds you got from just touching the cable were amazing. Also really great video overall, this basically sold me on the pedal even though it's very far removed from any kind of music I make (so far).

Well worth $500 and mono is completely fine because the signal just goes into all of my stereo effects so it works out great and I also have a stereo Looper in my chain as well but not everyone has that I guess
best part of the video hands down is the duckies.....the music is ok....i guess... =P (rockin' it!)....the degradation you get on the repeats is really nice!

I've been ogling the Blooper for some time now. The electronics shortage kept me from buying one outright, since I didn't want to put myself on 6-week wait list...at least not yet.
Is that Sound waves and light waves book worth buying without a deep understanding of physics? I have a good understanding of acoustic phenomenon, but Ive always been fascinated by the ways that those principles apply to other areas of physics. I know that I'll get lost the second it gets deep into the math though lol
Also, sadly it's not carried by perfect circuits but I think even just for a livestream, having the guy from nonlinear circuits on. He's the guy behind the famous sloths module, but he has some crazy stuff. Like a squid axon simulator eurorack module, who doesn't need one of those!?

As soon as I saw the out-of-focus background on the first frame I said to myself: _this man is shooting anamorphic_ - there's just those slightly elongated out-of-focus bits that are distinct signifiers. Could you tell us what lens you were using to shoot anamorphic?
It looks like Benn is shooting with the black magic pocket cameras that are EF or MFT which narrows it down a lot.
EF: Atlas Orions 2x anamorphics
MFT: Sirui 1.33x anamorphics
Could be other potential ones with adapters and tinkering but those seem like the most likely :)
Edit: Also noticed there weren’t any blue streak flares or other characteristics (hard to tell without consistent out of focus rendering or racks.). Looks like it might be good ol spherical Canon glass (based on his patreon BTS video) and some aspect cropping in post.
@@JxhnNichxlls Atlas Orions are great (if a bit of a crapshoot in terms of quality control - I've had some on shoots with uneven sharpness), but hella expensive. Then there are PL mount adapters for EF...
EDIT: Now that you mention it, it could be 1.33x, from looking at the backgrounds and the seemingly big depth of field.
@@vinylarchaeologist Atlas lenses are fine, they’re super popular and get beat the hell up from how often they get rented so you probably had some severely worn in lenses or a lens with a stigmatism. Just don’t shoot faster than T2.8 and things will be relatively sharp. They’ve got some new ones with controlled flare and updated coating coming out which seem nice. Also still gonna be the cheapest lenses to rent on the market for anamorphic.
PL to EF (and vice versa) doesn’t usually work because of hyperfocal distance and rear flange being inconsistent between lenses and the EF sensor. Atlas does have EF swap outs from PL though so that makes it more likely. I myself am trying to find a solution for PL to MFT since that ones a major pain in the ass it seems for consistency (currently adapting super 16 glass to PL to MFT for the 4k update)
I do think it might just be the canon 28mm he has for streamlining purposes on his 6k since Sirui only has lenses for Sony E and MFT. Big dof was probably stepped down without NDs and the chromatic aberration was pretty strong. Either way, hope this helps out fellow cinematographers!
@@JxhnNichxlls The Atlas Orion we had problems with (a 40mm) was on its first job. It had never been rented out before. The rest of the bunch (65, 100) were fine. My 1st AC managed to source out a second set, and that 40 was much better. Poor rental company had to pay the rent for the replacement lens, but that's how things go...
@@vinylarchaeologist ahh dang that’s a bummer. I work at a rental house and the ones we have had mostly get beat up so badly from constant usage. Also not a huge fan of the 32mm because of the distortion 🤮
