    Great video and review. There are so many people stepping into doing video's like this but your quality shines, in large part because you are mic'd up. Your voice is clear and crisp, easy to understand, just that one tool enhances the quality of the video dramatically. Couldn't smash that thumbs up enough!

    Great video. Good info. Hopefully, this helps some guys with their decisions if they are on the market for a new bow. I like how you test these bows on their heavier offerings at 30 or more inches of draw. Very helpful. Keep it up!

    One thing to remember is this guy is in better shape than 99% of the everyday archer so his feeling of draw force isn’t going to be like the average person. But, he will be 100% honest.

Starting working on my form and draw and can easily pull high 70s while practicing with no soreness or tweaks. He has good form with the 90 degree elbow. It feels awkward until you get use to it. Bought the V3 31 for ground blind and back up (shot two sets of earrings out of my traverse). Brought them both with me when I went to shoot the phase 4. shot all three back to back They all felt the same. Then shot the Rx7 Ultra. Left with Ultra. traverse and v3 are back up bows now. Shot the phase 4 29 today. Aside from being quiet not impressed. At my specs 27.5 in dl, 75 lbs it dumped hard which surprised me. It also wasnt dead in the hand like advertised. It wasn't bad by any means but my revolt x is almost as quiet and just as dead if not better and is miles ahead being more comfortable to shoot. Can't even say it was a speed demon either. At the same specs my revolt x80 was 2 fps slower on comfort so it would be faster on performance and it would be slower than my pse xf 33 at 70 lbs. I dont get the hype, at all. Because its a tad quieter? I can mount my sight in the riser and buy their ridiculously priced stabelizers? I will say this, they have some damn fine marketing the best in the industry but IN MY OPINION theres a few manufacturers making bows that are just overall better shooting experiences.

    I understand a heavy arrow is quiet. But if you are having problems with axis deer jumping your string why would you go so slow and heavy with your arrow build. That’s just allowing more time for the animal to move. Makes zero sense to me.

    • @PrivilegedBowhunter
      @PrivilegedBowhunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      My bow sends a 600 grain arrow 280fps so I have more than enough speed. I need a quiet arrow and quiet bow so that the deer don’t flinch as hard at the sound. These axis deer are so fast that 300 fps wouldn’t be fast enough to beat them.

    Bro i killed whitetail with a 363 grain arrow this year i am shooting a 425 grain 300 spine airstrike right at 300fps outta my rx7 i dont see the need in going over 450 grains tbh speed isnt everything but accuracy should be over your heaviness imo

      How is accuracy factoring into your statement for arrow weight?

    • @tylerharty5537
      @tylerharty5537 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dansiemen pin gap. If you range a deer at 30 yards and it steps 3 yards further away from you im gonna smoke it with that 425 grain arrow because 30 yards to 33 yards isnt much of a difference when shooting 300fps but the fairies out there shooting their 650 grain lawn dart at 260fps their arrow is going to drop 6 inches and miss low. Im not saying its oess accurate really but it does open the door a little wider for human error. And a 400 to 460 grain arrow has more than enough penetration to kill anything in North America with the proper shot placement.

    • @dansiemen
      @dansiemen ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tylerharty5537 I understand your point, but just because a arrow is heavy, does not make it inherently inaccurate. Every point you used has to do with the archer. Weight alone doesn’t promise a pass through. If you’re shooting a large expandable, and you strike some kind of bone, that expandable is causing more friction, and grabbing more material, hence causing a large amount of energy loss. People fail to understand the point of a heavier arrow setup. It’s not so that you can aim at a scapula, or humerus, it’s in case something goes wrong and you happen to hit one of those bones. You can put a 300gr arrow through guts and get a perfect pass through. I do shoot a heavy arrow, but I have always shot heavy. I have a 30.5” draw so my setup is automatically going to be heavier. In the past three years, I have shot around 20 deer and I have yet to miss at any range. I hunt Midwest and in the south, so 90% of my shots have to be inside of 40 yards.

    • @tylerharty5537
      @tylerharty5537 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dansiemen i didnt mean it is inaccurate. It is still just as accurate. But it opens the door for more human error i like taking long shots i practice regularly at 100 yards. Its something i love to do and i have killed a deer this year with a 420 grain arrow at 45 yards with a mechanical broadhead ive also dead centered a deers shoulder with a mechanical and blown through it on the first side and broke the opposite side. Im just saying its no where near necessary to shoot a big heavy arrow that 420 to 460 is a prefect sweet spot

    • @derrickross192
      @derrickross192 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Tyler Harty don't forget about the many people that got minimal or no penetration hitting the same spot or even softer spots while using a lightweight mechanical setup. There's many reasons why people use heavy arrows. That 3 yard excuse of yours only highlights yours or the Archers lack of training. Every bowhunter should be training the " animal walked closer farther" scenario at the range. Example: set pin to 30 yards, practice shooting targets 5-10 yards farther & 5-10 yards closer than 30 yards, while using the 30 yard pin setting. It is possible to find a balance between heavy and light setups. I've found it with mine: Mathews v3x 33, 31.5" DL, 77.7lbs DW, 557gr TAW, shooting 294-297fps.

  • @absaloncabrera1709
    @absaloncabrera1709 ปีที่แล้ว

    All the bows should have been setup the same to get a solid comparison of speed! The Hoyt carbon bow should have not been compared to the Phase 4 you should have compared the Hoyt VTM against the phase 4, taken out the carbon bows out completely and compared only aluminum risers.
    Crank up that RX7 and Bowtech to 77 pounds and it will blow that Mathews out of the water not only on speed but on how smooth the draw cycle are.
