This felt amazing after a hard bouldering session. The best thing is it doesn't take much physical effort so you can do it when you're tired. Nicely done - it would good to see more of these, especially with a focus on wrists, fingers, elbows.
Hah, perfect, Max! I had to search online for the meaning of this phrase and glad to know that you enjoyed the session and that I learnt something new:D
@@yogaforclimberswithievaluna hah, I had a feeling that phrase would confuse and intrigue you! Good to know you looked it up :) I am studying Spanish and it's lots of fun learning another language hey!
Sometimes I just feel really tired after climbing, particularly in the evenings and after consecutive days of climbing, but this flow is such a kind and gentle way to unwind, appreciate the effort our bodies go through, and rebalance energy levels! Thank you Ieva :)
Awww, so so good to read your comment. And yesss, these calm, slow sessions feel so good when the body (or mind) is tired. Simply to surrender, breathe and relax :) Thanks for practising with me, Varalika!!
This was such a lovely way to end a perfect day of climbing. I definitely feel like you found some very under-stretched and over-worked climbing muscles here! I will definitely be back to repeat this one after my active days. Thank you! :-)
Glad you enjoyed it, Jane, and that you are planning to come back to this session again in the future. It feels so nourishing to simply take it easy, to stretch, and take some calm time for ourselves after active days.
I have been searching for a climbing yoga series that I like for a while and am over the moon with your practice! Keep putting out excellent content and thank you for sharing your practice
@@yogaforclimberswithievaluna I was recommend you by a friend of mine, who said you were excellent! Keep up the good work, you have made it into a small climbing community in Montana
Your channel has really helped me feel less alone since this pandemic started. Returning to flows you have posted a long time ago (relatively), I feel like I am practising with a friend. It is joyful and joy bringing. Thank you for your light.
Awww, smiling to read your comment, Emma. All the comments (including yours!) I have received motivated me and inspired me to continue sharing yoga and movement classes online 💕 Thanks for sharing this!
I use this video to do some gentle movement and stretching while having a low back injury and absolutely loved it! On that note, a video focusing on genlte stretch to prevent low back issues would be amazing! I love your hip mobility and strengthening practices, and would love a more gentle version of those! Thank for doing amazing free yoga videos!
Hope your low back is feeling better now after the injury! I'm glad to read that these gentle movements felt good for your body, Charlie. I would recommend for you to check out these two sessions below. They are similar to this Slow&Gentle Stretch flow, yet slightly different. They are part of the 7 day and 10 day series, but you could do these sessions separately too. th-cam.com/video/t5UMzXjM4tM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CommunityYogawithIevaLuna and: th-cam.com/video/1tTouaBYyfQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CommunityYogawithIevaLuna Let me know what you think if you do any of those! And thank you for future video suggestions, I'm putting it down to my notebook 💚
Hey Ieva, I really enjoy your classes. You have a lovely, gentle and warm manner. Thanks for sharing your practice and spreading such good vibes out in to the world :-)
Aw, happy to know that you rediscovered this session, Constance! It's a curious experience to do the same sessions again after a while. To observe, to reflect, to see the difference how the movements feel. Similar as reading the books we have once read long time ago💫
oh yes, slow yoga always feels so nourishing after an intense climbing day. Glad that your body appreciated those stretches 🌝 Where did you climb yesterday?
Back here again for another post-climbing yoga session. It feels great to be doing this session after each climbing session and I'm sure it will have a profound effect over time. It seems unfair that I can only give this video one like I have a question for you, do you ever use any self massage tools in your own practice or in your teaching? I have some lacrosse style massage balls which I use to massage my body (particularly my back, shoulders, chest and arms - nothing quite releases my lats from climbing like the massage balls) which I find to be crucial in helping keep muscle soreness and tightness at bay. There is only one issue - I get distracted and do not have the discipline to do every part for enough time! However, when I'm following your guided yoga sessions I find myself thinking "has it been 30 minutes already??". Therefore personally I would love it if you did a guided 15-20 minute self massage session whether that was with a ball, foam roller, something else or a mixture. I get that strictly speaking that wouldn't be "yoga". So then I wonder do you use these kinds of self massage tools and techniques at all? If not then perhaps I only need them so much for recovery from climbing (and from typing at a computer for work and life in general) because I haven't done enough yoga 🤔 (not enough yoga... yet! Your channel is helping me change this as we speak!). I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks again for your excellent content, long may you continue making more
Thanks a lot Richard for your informative comment! I absolutely love tennis ball self massage (next day after a hard climbing session this massage feels divine!), and sometimes include it in my real life classes. It's quite a coincidence that you shared this with me, as actually in the beginning of next month I am going to take part in 30 hour training where one of the components will be Acupressure with tennis balls :D After that I might record a follow along practice for my TH-cam community, too! And of course will include that in my upcoming retreats🤸🏾♂️
Hey Ieva! It's the 3rd time I'm here for the warm down session, so I decided that this time I won't leave without saying Thank you! I love the idea of not pushing our body too hard - not to mention the knee kissing! :) It's just too sweet and well put - and makes me want to return. Thank you and see you next time!
Awww, thanks so much for sharing and being here, Myrto. It means a lot to me that the idea of not pushing our body too hard and kissing the knee - resonated with you. Hope to see you again in the near future in the comment section under my yoga videos 💚
I did this while recovering from corona, and it was exactly the level I can handle right now! Felt so good. Looking forward to do your more challenging videos again! So glad I have found your channel!
Wonderful to hear that, Laura! I saw your post on IG with mtb and the mountains look breathtaking!! Big hug and hope to see you sometime in the future in Siurana again💚
Would you be able to make a 10-15 minute post-climb cooldown video for impatient souls like me? I really enjoyed this session, but can't do after every climb.
Loved this practice! The kissing of the knees brought me so much emotion. I didn’t realize how much I needed that until I did it. May I request a practice that focuses on the hamstrings and lower back? Thanks so much again.
Aww, you are so welcome Mario! We all need a hug, and first it should come from within ourselves 💚 Glad to hear you enjoyed the session. I have few sessions that I could recommend you. For hamstrings: "Lower body flow 28min" or "Heel Hooks, Keeping Feet on the Wall". For Healthy Spines - Day 2 of 7 Day Rock/Yoga Warrior series focuses on our posture, but not necessarily only on lower back. It feels quite nice though, nevertheless! Big virtual hug to you🤗
Thankies Leva that was lovely and relaxing. I’m wondering if you have down a warm up video? If not I think that would be my suggestion. Cheers! 🧘♀️❤️👻
Thanks for your comment, Polly and for practising with me! Yesss, I do have a warm up video, it's one of the most recent ones and was requested by quite many people 😊. Enjoy and let me know how that goes 🌞🙏🏽
Your yoga is fabulous. It hit everything perfectly after climbing. Thank you! Random question, were you named after the novel by Isabel Allende? I love her writing.
Aw, thank you Amanda. Lovely to know that you enjoy my yoga classes💕. I just searched the author Isabel Allende, as I haven't heard about her before. ieva in Lithuanian language is a type of tree, I think my parents named me after that🤔 I might check out the novel by Isabel, too 🙌🏾 do you have a favourite one to recommend me?
@@yogaforclimberswithievaluna Very cool! It's a beautiful name. Her novel I thought you were named after is Eva Luna. Very similar. But my favourite novel by her will always be House of the Spirits. First time here. Just wanted to thank you. I'm just starting with Yoga and this positions are pretty hard to hold for me. I wanted to ask you, is it better to reach the final position with help? Or just where my body let me without quitting the position? Thank you again.
Welcome Benjamín and thank you for practising together! I would suggest not to force any postures, less is more and with time your body might allow you to go slightly deeper. If something is uncomfortable take one step back and explore how the movement feels there! Then with time things will start to get more familiar. Keep it up!
Thanks for your comment and for practising with me, LunaRoseMoon! If there is any discomfort or pain while you do the moves, take few steps back (not going so deep for example) or perhaps stop the move/posture all together🙏🏽 Even though I am very passionate about movement, human body, biomechanics - I am not a medical professional therefore I couldn't give you exact tips, especially without seeing a person in real life. Sometimes when part of our body feels tight, it might be that that particular area needs strengthening first and then stretching. Foam roller massage also is a nice bonus!
