This video starts off on the hardware side of things brief thoughts on the remote and the hardware options this device could provide you.
I've tested locally: Hdr10+, dolby atmos, DTSX MA, and some other files for compatibility. For your local 4k rips or remux the device seems very stable video wise depending on how you deal with judder effect from no automatic frame rate switching. However I did notice there was audio dropouts while playing dolby atmos and along with DTSX MA 7.1 gets decoded into PCM 2.0

My 2018 Firestick 4K easily plays the 400Mbps JellyFish smoothly as long the file is in the internal storage. Meaning the CPU of the 2018 Firestick 4K still great compare to the CPU of Rocktek G2
I am looking for a device to play my library of .mkv movies in a cinema with 4K projection and a modern sound processor (Atmos). I have been using a Windows PC with VLC to play the files. Some of the files are 4K, some have AC3 and DTS 7.1, some have Atmos. As you note that the G2 has a few issues, which device do you recommend?
Thanks for viewing, I recommend you look into the Zidoo and Dune Media players for your setup.
