At what point do you stop and realize that it's starting to suck? I mean, didn't she think of filling in the white spaces first? What happened after that? "Oh, I didn't match the color right, so let me just CHANGE the color of the original to my wrong color?"

WRONG reporting, the elderly woman is a painter and she also had asked for the priest's permission and she also hadn't finished it. But I prefer this painting because it is the only Jesus painting that makes the whole world smile.

0:45 Wow! XD This was funny, but at the same time, old/valuable paintings should not be "retouched" *EVER*. Especially not by those who don't know what they're doing. I know the woman was old, but that doesn't excuse her for doing such a horrible job. Good thing they took a picture before she ruined it, although they could've just scanned the original and let her doodle all over the scanned version.

the artwork didnt have historical or of any value before the ecce mono fiasco. it was painted by a literal who art professor in the 1930's, experts suggest the artwork in its original form had a value of less than $1000.
Regardless of the facts surrounding the painting and its restoration, the Before and After images are hilarious. This is a funny story. The world needs more laughs. Lighten up.

- it is not she just "took it for herself", the priest allowed that and was well aware of it. he only wanted to save some money by not contracting prefessionals.
- it is NOT a rare and valuable painting, as the local council confirmed the picture was not even listed at the church archives as it was made from a local painter.
Leave the poor woman alone, get correct info and show some respect.
If the REAL Jesus looked like that, Christianity would never have taken off!
