I still have my dads tyranids sitting in a box. Can’t bring myself to look at them. All my armies were started by him, but the tyranids were his favorites. Kept those when he gave me all the others.
@@goranlindgren9842 This is going to sound a little morbid, but it’s important to have a will! Fantastic work. I myself have taken on the responsibility of becoming the custodian of a collector's passion. It may sound silly, but I do look at it as a responsibility. Cleaning and maintaining the items and putting on display in a new home. Thanks for all you do.

Great video Goober and keep being a positive light in a sometimes grimdark world.
I think you did a wonderful job in honoring Chris by cleaning, restoring and finishing the painting he did not get a chance to complete. The figure looks fantastic and you can clearly see his vision in painting this model. Thank you for sharing this great tutorial.

Not only is the attention to detail as regards the restoration impressive, but just how much attention you pay to your impact on your viewers. You've given all of us a lot to think about by talking about your newfound relationship with Mr. Chris Price. I would also love to see more of these models restored to his own style.
This is why i like Gobertown hobbies. Philosophy by a genunie good guy while painting. Never change Brent... well that sounds restrictive so iguess i meant stay excellent Brent.
This meant a lot to see as an artist. Most of us disappear into obscurity with time, so it's really nice to see when fellow artists deeply care about keeping us alive in some small way no matter how small or unknown.
I absolutely love that you made this video. It's not that the model has sentimental value to you, but that it meant something so someone else, so you honored the original painter. This is why I love your content, keep up being awesome Brent!

Just when you think Brent can't be any more of a stand up gentleman he goes and restores a paint job on a mini to commemorate a guy he never met. What a top bloke.
I love to see this! This is one of my favorite things to do. There is a comic store near my house that re-sells old minis from people's collections. When I can get a cool old model with a decent basecoat, I carefully clean it, touch up the basecoat, add some highlights and depth with a wash. A few simple steps that really make for some great looking tabletop models. When I'm doing it, I feel like it's a collaboration with another painter, and I feel it's respectful of their time and effort. These old minis I restore are some of the favorites in my collection.
