This has got to be one of the greatest achievements in gaming history. The dedication and hard work that went into beating this map is truly inspirational.
when the guy who has beaten TMNF blindfolded has retired from the competition - u know , you have accomplished something special - biggest congrats to Bren!!!!!
Figuring out the right route in this confounding maze, and memorizing it, are both incredible feats on their own. It would be interesting to see the design process.
Bren has become the Deep Dip 2 god now. Though watching the mistakes, the repeats, and the plethora of shortcuts found so far, i wouldn't put it past the community to grind down the total time to under half an hour, maybe even less with TAS.
While I congratulate Bren, Elcon almost destroyed everyone and deserves a shot out for coming in second. Man spent quite literally a quater of the time and got second, insane. Congrats to both though for finally finishing. Well deserved! Now Wurt can grind it out and grab a finish.
I mean, his total finish time was about 209 hours, Bren's was 220. Not a huge difference in total commitment. It's true he spent a lot less time on floor 16 than the others but he also didn't have to explore any new parts of it. It'll always take more attempts when you're the first player trying sections since they haven't been solved by anyone yet. Bren definitely deserved the victory in the end, but yeah definitely impressive that Elconn got 2nd despite being 4th to try F16.
I'm watching this and... this is *_unreasonable_* difficulty. This is that sequel syndrome of, 'We have to make every part of this bigger and more complicated, therefore better.' Whoof. There's no flow to this. It's so start-and-stop. Each mapper wants to keep you in their own little world longer so you can be impressed at how clever they are. but it's just... Sympathies to Bren and to anyone else who went into this expecting any fun at all.
why does that dirt wall plastic bounce reverse thing near the end take so many retries even in an active run? it's not even a trick, just skip from 44:00 to 58:00, you won't miss anything
I feel so bad for hazard, bren and him made a deal to split their prize money 50/50 if they finished 1-2. but hazard couldn’t make it in time. and so elconn took second. Sadeg
@@TrackmaniaReplay yeah, I realised just after posting that comment (which your notification might have shown said "didn't even get a medal") and edited I it.. definitely not a "perfect run" by any means, no terribly massive falls, but that dirt-wall-ride-turnaround took an insane number of attempts! most of his Twitch streams end up being 2am for me, so I'll have to congratulate him next time I have a sleepless night.. (EDIT) ah, wait.. that was specifically a "practice wallride" section, missed that part... my bad.
An anticlimactic finish, teleporting you to start area. Honestly, I expected to see some in game congrats/award considering Bren spent 100's of hours trying to achieve this. It was very difficult to get there. It would be nice if game developers would consider to allow builders to create some sort of ceremony at the end.
This video is recorded from the replay of his record, so you aren't seeing the actual finish. Although the actual finish isn't all that spectacular either.
That's just how TM replays work, this is just a VOD spectating his ghost. If you watched his stream POV then there's some celebratory effects on the finish screen as well as an epilogue speech.
It's a 1h map if you spent a month grinding away at the thing full time and even that isn't enough for the vast majority of players. It's a monster track with almost inhumanly difficult tricks that only the best players have mastered. In addition to that, the levels are stacked on top of each other and there are no save points. The levels are also constructed in such a way that you have no margin for error. If you screw up and fall off somewhere, chances are that you fall all the way down to the ground and have to start all over again. Hundreds of the best players have been trying DD since it opened on May 3, well over a month ago and so far there have been two finishers and I see two others that are really close. Then there are a further twenty players that made it more than halfway up. The rest, all excellent players haven't even gotten halfway up yet after a month of trying. Famous Trackmania streamer Wirtual, who is probably singlehandedly responsible for 70% of the people outside France even being aware this game even exists, had to give up a great run (he was among those near the top) to maintain his sanity. It's the most stupidly challenging thing ever made in Trackmania and if there's going to be a Deep Dip 3 it's unlikely they'll make it as hard as this one again; they clearly overshot the mark this time. Is that enough of an explanation?
@@MarkHadjHamou "Failed" is a bit harsh. He noticed grinding the track was destructive to him and his relationships, so after "just" a month of attempts and getting "only" to floor 14 or thereabouts, he decided to do give up on the competition and return to the map later, without the pressure.

it's a very good achievement but there are many achievements in other games that took insanely good players from these games more than a month to do
when the guy who has beaten TMNF blindfolded has retired from the competition - u know , you have accomplished something special - biggest congrats to Bren!!!!!
The lead up to the top was like Sam and Frodo trudging up Mount Doom, just slow and laborious with everything at risk. So glad he made it.
With the floor 0 mistake, that's poetic

Damn! What's with the spoilers? 🤣
I love deep dip I love deep dip I love deep dip

soo yeah... he spends about 15 minutes for training in floor 16, and respectfully, that was the best choice instead of falling really near top
Really good mapping, to have a forgiving place to train for the upcoming monstrosity.
I was thinking what was the point of that ohhh
Insane just insane. Bren fully deserved it. Well done. Immense will power to finish the map.
What an achievement, Bren paved most of the way and deserved the win! Congrats!

Wow! Gg Bren.

does bren use a flight stick or a controller? new to trackmania world

I think floor 12 has the smoothest sequences, and look at how he does it, perfect.
