Literally watched this movie for the first time last week and i love it, i honestly cant stop thinking about it. Now i'm constantly watching youtube videos regarding Leon The Professional and Natalie Portman. Happy to have found this channel and community who love this movie as well.
I always wished Léon could have made it out of New York with Mathilda, using the money he had stored with Tony. God, this is such a fantastic movie. I wished I could see the integral version of it, though I've already seen all the scenes that were, unfortunately, cut.
@@benjamindeharo314 Yeah, it is unavaliable in mine, for example... Damn it. I do sure appreciate your advice, though, my friend. Is there another video of the extended cut? I assume not, but just asking.
Truly wish that Leon survived, and moved on, and we got to see a happy ending. Still better than the orginial Verison, Besson was going to place, where they had all died. Just a masterpiece of a film, and how much more the extended version had showed, when I watched it in comparison between the official one. So much more meaning and context.
If only he survived at the end, instead of leaving us all heartbroken with both of them living on happily. Originally, Benson was going to have all of them die, which luckily & thankfully did not happen. Not only that, but the extended verison of the film, with most of the original scenes, really just makes the difference of the orignal shorten verison where you don't get so much build-up compared to the extended where he explains his past and etc along with much more context & sense to the film, instead of the shorten offical verison released where it just cuts out at some parts which leaves you a bit curios and blank on what happened, controversy and etc. Such a legendary and iconic film, not only that but as for this scene its literally the most touching scene of the film, best as well. A scene that literally just puts you through emotion, tears, heart, and intensity of what's going to happen next. A scene where Leon starts saying his final words of peace and telling her how much she meant to him, how much she impacted him, changed him for the better, gave him meaning & all that he wanted in life, a second chance to change for the better alongside doing good. Even his facial expressions, really just puts you through emotion, piercing right to your heart, with intense feeling, the dialogue as well which is just so memorable & amazing. Like it just touches your heart so much especially when Leon tells her; "You've given me a taste for life- Have roots" it truly shows that he wanted to change, and how he doesn't want her to be like him, but the opposite, with how much she impacted him of everything he wanted - love, peace, and doing good, not always having to recall and experience life in the dark but in the light instead, not always being secretive, sad, regretful from the past, and the fact that he even says "I Love You" makes really just shows how he knows he made the right choice in saving her, especially with everything he went through as well as was going through with. Even the emotion of Portman, puts you in tears, both of them do, that's how heartfelt & intense it is. Literally a masterpiece. A scene where it starts hinting towards the end. Literally the most intense scene of the film especially the prior scene and a scene that you can't help but be on the edge of your seat hoping that he would make it out alive, with everything that happened, and the duo they've been along with how much of a build-up they had on each other, as well as how much they meant for each other, how much they cared for each other, how much meaning they both gave to each other, with Leon having something to care for, loose for, help for and much more. She was the light to his darkness, and he was the darkness to her lightness, so that she wouldn't end up just like him, but simply, a protegee in case anything happens. A film with so much build-up, filled with raw emotions and feelings with a film that is truly memorable, unforgettable, legendary, and filled with emotions that you honestly can't help but feel alongside the characters & the emotional story behind it, especially what happens at the end which just makes this film turn to a sudden turn of just pure sadness especially with the build-up & how emotionally intense it was. Like man this film just changes you, pure chills, pure tears, pure emotion, pure sadness and much more as well. So much to say, its honestly endless, with so many emotions & feelings. A film where its just pure black and white, that has such strong emotions & feelings from/to your heart. Its a film where you just feel pure raw emotion as if you're the character or if you're seeing it first hand in person. A film with such a perfect selection of a cast with such underrated actors such as Jean Reno, Natalie Portman debuting in her first ever film which launched her acting career, Gary Oldman, and so many others. A film with such an emotional bond that you honestly can't explain it fully, its something that you honestly have to feel it to experience it. Its a film that's meant to be experienced through emotion, not through explanation just like Leon whenever you would see his character's facial expressions of what he would feel, like the amount of strong emotion behind it, is incredible, especially towards the end of the movie where you'd expect it to end off in a happy ending but it ends sadly. It can't be described fully in words, just through your own heart & emotion, especially with how perfect the film was, like there's no flaws with it. It's a film filled with strong emotional, action-packed storyline and soundtracks that honestly make you feel sad for Leon and Mathilda as if you're a part of them. Jean Reno truly nailed the performance like hes so underrated, and it really shows the amount of talent Natalie had which started her career in one of the greatest films of all time like all the roles were nailed perfectly. Its just a masterpiece. Not only that but this movie didn't have much of a budget either, and it turned out to be so successful and one of the greatest films of all time, which you can't deny, its something that everyone agrees on, like it or not, it is. Luc Besson the director literally nailed it & also proved how even at the time you didn't need that need such a huge budget to accomplish these things, and what an era it was, and what a big name for European Films if not the greatest European film, in comparison with American films that need such a big budget to accomplish the effects, it really shows the difference between the two as all thats needed is raw emotion. Such a masterpiece, a film like I said filled with such an emotional bond that you honestly can't explain it fully, its something that you honestly have to feel it to experience it. Truly unforgettable, memorable and much more. I honestly wish it got more credit that it was unfortuantely given, it honestly deserved so much credit, especially an award for Jean Leno and his performance. Such a perfect selection, such a perfect story, film, and of course music selection. One of the few films where you experience raw emotion, and feelings. Like even the trailer itself is just amazing. A film that you honestly feel through your heart, its just heartfelt like the emotions of the film just go through your heart and makes you feel it as if you're one of the characters especailly as Leon and Maltithda, and not only that but heartbroken as well, especially at the end of the film where you see a flash of light slowly entering and then fading away knowing that hes passed & finally achieved the peace he wanted, while also having something to loose for, and love with actual roots being placed - a meaning for him which was Maltithda and when he finally took all of them out, including Stansfeild, he finally got revenge for Maltithda so that she would no longer suffer in life, and she could finally live in peace, and not exprience what he had to go through and be just like him. Like even now, when I watched this movie, I still feel the emotions thats how strong it is, its attached, especially every time when you look back to it and it always hits you over and over again. Like it's just unexplainable, you can try your best to explain it, but its something you just gotta feel for yourself like I said and its so emotionally intense. 5 stars. A film that literally hit me hard so many times in my feelings, and made me realize the true meanings of love & life, purpose. regret, change and gave me a perspective, a will, a reason, change - everything. It literally has so many messages, and feelings, of dreams, hopes, and roots. Like man this film just changes you, pure chills, pure tears, pure emotion, pure sadness and much more as well. So much to say, its honestly endless, with so many emotions & feelings.
