I'm in NETTTS right now which is why I'm on TH-cam studying. NETTTS is terrible then they wouldn't be in business anymore. They have done nothing but help me I'm only one month in but they are helping.
I test on Monday through all state in CT. All states instructors are great but there is no curriculum. Everyone teaches differently and opposes things other instructors might have told you. A couple days with good instructors and I felt fine. The trucks tho, are garbage.
NETTS is my Alma Mater graduating in September of 1990. Been grinding the gears ever since. Starting a new job (only my 3rd in 32 years) next week, and knowing a pretrip and roadtrip were part of the deal, came back "home" to brush up on a proper pretrip, thinking I may have pick up a few bad habits along the way. Thanks for the refresher, Coach!
The one and only. Make sure to drop in his channel and give a subscribe. He's still there pumping out the knowledge. 💯 there's a link in the pinned comment
This video was recorded not so much a teaching tool but to show how efficient we can be if we study the pre trip with a certified lead instructor,..like me
Put in David Remus in search Have videos on Connecticut brake test Massachusetts break test Massachusetts walk around inspection and under the hood inspection a little slower more informative
This is a link of a more in depth Massachusetts pre trip walk around by Dave himself. Make sure you guys drop by, subscribe and drop a like on it!! BTW 1:35 the water pump is gear driven! Just had to correct it, thanks to a comment. Thank you 😌 th-cam.com/video/-kk5hma_St4/w-d-xo.html
Seems like he’s more or less just reciting this from memory, rather than actually doing a thorough pre-trip. As fast as possible in his words. That clearly shows it’s not thorough.
A mediocre pre trip. He ,definitely , should not rush. He has missed a lot of parts, especially where he forgot to mention that the slack adjuster and a push rod should not have more than 1" of free play " WHEN THE BREAKS ARE RELEASED " .
Well there's another pre trip he made more in depth. It's posted as a linked comment. It more on the emphasis for the mass ppl since they have a time limit for test
i go to nettts right now and this has taught me the pre trip better than any of the instructors, nettts really is terrible rn
Super trash....

You made a mistake when you said water pump is belt driven... it’s actually gear driven.
1:35 water pump is gear driven NOT belt driven!!!
I'll note that on the description

pretty sure we do not say that here in mass while testing.
going too fast
Very fast (haste makes waste) but very ineffective to me. No system, order or explanation to help a mechanically challenged person remember this.
He speaks to fast
You never kick the tires
