Odin is the prime god of the Vikings & many heathens still exists today , I am one lol.
Fame & fortune had a lot to do with Viking raids.
In fact the word "Viking" does not mean a people it is a description of something they did "to go a viking" meant literally "to go raiding" & the Saxon word "Viking" meant a "seaborne raider" in essence.
The Norse or Northmen more covers the people & maybe Dane , in England it was mainly Danes & Norweigian Vikings that attacked us but mainly Swedes went East & traded as far as Baghdad & some say further along the silk road.
their songs "Twilight of the Thunder God", "The Hero", "Guardians of Asgaard", "Raise Your Horns", "Embrace of the Endless Ocean" and "Runes To My Memory" are all great...honestly there are many more I could list here but these are the ones I listen to the most.

Very nice reaction! Odin is the "All Father", the chief God in the Old Norse religion. He is also the God of Poetry, Battle and Death. Thor is the God of Thunder, and is Odin's son.
