Marilyn Mccoo is such a classy lady. The world is a better place because of couples like her and Billy Davis Junior. What a great song! Her voice of course, but even the way she enunciates the words. I miss the 70s music. Thanks for reacting to this Ace! Love seeing you get so caught up in great songs like this.
The 5th Dimension was a hit factory of pop music. Try "Last Night I Didn't Get to Sleep", "Puppet Man", "Stoned Soul Picnic", "California Soul", and "Wedding Bell Blues".
Marilyn Mc Coo & Billy Davis Jr continued their careers as a duet long after leaving the 5th Dimensions! Check out "You don't have to be Star"! I was privileged to see them perform live at the Latin Casino in the '70's!
A true singer, enormously talented , her voice takes you to heaven, a place where everything even a tragic topic is perfectly beautiful sung so exciting each time I hear it it’s appeal never diminishes, a Burt Bacharach song this song belongs only toMs her.
Reminds me how much society has changed in my lifetime (I was a preteen when this song came out). Ain't too many young woman today with a great appetite for picking up after boyfriends & frying them eggs...
Marilyn McCoo...great singer. Her husband Billy Davis Jr. also fantastic. Not to take away from the other three in the group...all tremendously talented.
A great era for this type of song and singer. If you want more of that, ask for suggestions. Same era as the Carpenters. Try Gladys Knight and "Midnight Train to Georgia" if you haven't done it yet. Lots of excellent male and female vocalists, plus Motown groups like the Spinners, Manhattans, Stylistics, and so on.
Four top 40 singles came from the album called Portrait by the 5th Dimension in 1970. One Less Bell To Answer, Save The Country, This Is Your Life and Puppet Man.😮 This is a great album with traxx that rival the four successful singles. This album is still in my vinyl collection even now😮😮😊It also contains their only three part medley called Medley. Please hear the 1997 Digitally Remastered version.
I was in elementary school when they were big and I remember when Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. split off to perform on their own. They had their own tv show and were always on different variety shows. She has a beautiful voice and I still remember her as she was back then.
And you forgot to say one other thing; that Marilyn McCoo is so beautiful. Yes, as an 8 year old back in 1967, I had a big crush on her, and continue to have a crush on her today.
I just love how you talk you are awesome keep them coming

No remastering required. Soul City Record Studios' production crew was phenomenal with reproduction of quality arrangements.
That’s when singers could really sing. No pitch correction needed. Marilyn McCoo was a terrific singer.

One of the great songs of my childhood. I’ve been in love with Marilyn McCoo since I was 9 years old apparently! 😊
The Fifth Dimension were fantastic. Marilyn McCoo had a great voice. She didn't get enough recognition.
