Thanks bro! I finally found the manual for this online but their diagram for where the drain plug was absolutely horrible(imagine that.) And, of course, they said NOTHING about it twisting to lock/unlock. Great help!
So glad the hood can stay on to change the oil & filter on my troy bilt. Still have to remove it to adjust the valves though. I have the same 25 hp engine with over 500 hours on it. Other than a new carb and a little oil smoke at start up still runs good. Adjust the valve lash at least once a year especially if it gets hard to start.
He's not using 30w oil formulated for air cooled engines, or using the size container it comes in, so there's no way to know how much he added. The manual says 64 ounces for those V-twins.
This video was years ago, I was just getting started……..I was using a 50 dollar camera……..I’m a mechanic, not a videographer……..thanks for giving your not asked for advice👍

Hello, what's the oil capacity of this v twin engine ?? I have a similar model with you and I haven't the oil measurement stick on oil cap.

Enjoy the video up to the point where you were opening the oil drain valve. Your camera was jumping around so much I could not see what you did.

Sep 2020: A maintenance kit on Amazon provides a 48-ounce bottle of 10W-30 - so another hint for amount as well. :)
I replaced the cheap plastic drain gadgit with pipe..much easier and less mess now..
I always make a mess because I lost the 1/2 in plastic tube for the oil drain.
The tube is a huge help but it doesn't help with the filter change.
