I honestly thought the same thing about this place but it's actually more expensive to do it this way. The overwhelming majority of what is dropped there is green with the occasional blue but purple is basically non existent so if you want to upgrade things that are blue or purple you will have to spend the sollant on converting the green to blue and if you are going to purple from blue to purple and that is soooo much money to go through all of those stages. I was going broke converting the materials I got from there so I stopped going for materials, now I go because it's fun to see how large of a group you can get and how quickly you can kill them while it's raining green materials all over the place, it is quite satisfying lol.
I never said it's the best spot for purple upgrade, normally even at level 50 people should focus on blue gear first till they can reach max power out of it, for blue upgrades i find it pretty efficient honestly, maybe because as a mage i can farm a lot in very limited time, and as u said it is indeed very satisfying for me too. Another thing is that this dung i can farm it for 15min for example when I'm waiting for some event or matchmaking due to the convenience of doing it alone and fast.

Personally as a pure dps staff/wand player eith 3k gs i can solo crypt / island with a breeze and since you get way more blues and possibly purples you can easily just dissolve them if you really really need the green and/or blue books mats.
Which game phase / level are you talking about because again i never said this is for endgame farming/upgrades :) This is an MMORPG new players everyday, and yes this is the best for midgame farming you can compare it with Sylu's 1 and 2.
I never said to replace Sylus or Crypt but Abyssal tokens allow you to get way more loot on ant nest since it's low level in less than an hour of time, I do one hour a day, and also when you need a lot of items for traits. It's very profitable loot/time spent.
Have you ever wondered why this is the only dungeon that doesn't have contracts on too ? Cause it would be too Op since the abyssal contract consumption is already low and dung can be solo in 20min.

If you dont have a contract there youre wasting your abyss tokens. Do not do this
