    Great budget build videos. I used to play years ago, but an injury stopped me for 30 years. I had been wanting to try playing again, so last summer when I saw the Glarry guitars, they were so cheap I bought one of their strat clones. If my old injuries were going to keep me from playing again I'd only be out 60 bucks so I couldn't lose. That went surprisingly well, both the playing and the guitar, but left me wanting for a better one. My injuries still limit me so I didn't want to invest Fender money in an instrument, but this has me inspired. I can literally build exactly the tele I want for a fraction of the money, and no soldering. The sound was amazing too. I am in the process of putting my parts list together right now. :-)

    You may already know this but a good solution for the enlarged hole for the tuning machine issue is to put cut a toothpick or dowel close to or smaller than the size of the hole and just shorter than the depth of the hole, put a little dab of glue on the end of the toothpick (not enough for it to squeeze out of the top), let it dry. If needed drill the hole again. This gives you hopefully a fresh start to try again and drill another hole that way you be sure your screw goes in straight and do not risk the hole being stripped out. Great sounding tele and the quick headphone jack type plug blew my mind!

    • @kleptoliapennyfeather6078
      @kleptoliapennyfeather6078 ปีที่แล้ว

      The other way to do it: put baking soda in the hole halfway and put a couple drops of liquid super glue into it. Then repeat the step to fill the hole completely. Then re-drill.

    The Tele with the single coil in the bridge and the hummer in the neck is my favorite design. The first person that I saw customize his Tele like this was Steve Howe of YES. Whilst in The Police, Andy Summers played a Tele with the same pickup configuration, that was customized by his guitar teacher.
    I bought a brand new "American Fender Telecaster H/S in the 1990s in a gorgeous "Chrome Red" paint job. It also had a single coil in the bridge for the traditional Telecaster, 'ICEPICK THRU THE FOREHEAD1" tone and a humbucker in the neck for a warm, Jazzy tone. The guitar also featured Fender's revolutionary, "-Way Switching."
    When I tried to replace the one that I had lost, I found that Fender had halted production of the model. Perhaps it was too cool for them/////
    Anyway, I'd love to do this build. Do you offer a "shopping list" with prices.
    Excellent presentation, as Always, my friend!

    Is that just a two way switch? I noticed you didn't show the tone for the mixed pickups, just the splitting.

    The "prep work" of measuring & drilling is what I wanted to see. Since it was done off camera, we can be pretty sure he didn't do it.

    He mentioned "part 1" of the build, in which he applied the shielding paint, pre-drilled holes for the pickguard, etc., but I can't find it anywhere.

    I bought the same pickups for my tele build. I find my lil' puncher to be excessively bright. rolled the tone way back, and it still doesn't sound great. Did you have the same findings? what if anything did you do to get the tone you have out of it. Maybe I got a bad one, but if you have some tips, i'm all ears. I love the neck pickup! I just can't get the two to sound good together.

    after this, you should build the exact same style of guitar, but use the highest end parts you can buy, then the next vid after that can be a shootout between the high end and budget. That would be awesome!!
