Spandau Ballet are one of Britain’s great iconic bands having sold over 25 million records, scored numerous multi-platinum albums and amassed 23 hit singles across the globe since their humble beginnings as a group of friends with dreams of stardom in the late 1970s. It wasn’t long before they became fully-fledged members of the iconic Blitz Club scene and established themselves as one of the super-groups of the 80s.
The band's classic line-up features brothers Gary and Martin Kemp on guitars, vocalist Tony Hadley, saxophonist Steve Norman and drummer John Keeble.
After two decades apart, the band reformed in 2009, embarking on a sold-out tour. In 2014 the band released a critically lauded documentary film ‘Soul Boys Of The Western World’ and returned to the studio recording three new tracks 'Steal', 'Soul Boy' and 'This Is The Love' for the anthology 'The Story'. ‘
This has been followed by the ‘Soulboys Of The Western World’ world tour wowing crowds and critics alike with the band making rapturous returns for the first time in 25 years to USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and parts of mainland Europe.

I was in high school when they first shot into stardom. They were great then and so glad they put aside differences and play again. A truly amazing band. Glad I saw the Live Aid performance in '85. Simply amazing band.

Love you guys and would never judge. But why the capo with bar cords and scales?
MrBuck6566 I never saw Gary Kemp play this track with a capo before. Possibly to cater for Tony's ageing voice (altho you'd expect it in a lower key). Possible the guitar was tuned down a semitone for another song in the set and he didn't want to mess tuning it back,but then again surely his technician would do that. So ultimately, only he knows! Tweet him and see if he replies
@@garfield4108 Same pitch as the original. If you play it, it's still a lot of bar chords but it's a heck of a lot easier to play with the capo.

Can any of you make out the serial number of Gary Kemp's guitar, it is on the head stock but a bit bury. I am trying to figure out if it's a vintage Fender Strat or reissue. thanks.
1978 or 1979 fender stratocaster. Seems like a vintage one not reissue

Yeah, that’s why Gary wanted him to come back so badly 🙄. Not many singers who kept their voice in such good condition as Tony has done. Still one of the best singers around. And a great guy as well.
