    Kudos for your credible reporting and being honest about coming off, and the resulting damage to the bike.

    It seems this segment is gaining a lot of buyers these days. Just saw the sales in the US, and ADV bikes have sold more than Sports bikes for 2018??? Is that right? So it may come as no surprise to me that Ducati wants to capitalize on that with an offering that is squarely aimed at the new 1250 GS Adventure?

    I just made an offer on a 2017 Enduro 1200 that was left-over. They declined my offer. I was asking too much for trade-in on my ‘13, I believe. So now I will put ~$2500 in scheduled and needed services into my ‘13 and wait for a 2019 Enduro to be left-over and discounted in a few years. 👍🏼

    Great review and refreshingly honest. Basically unless you are actually going to ride your 18K Ducati off road, don't buy one, get the standard Multistrada.👍👍

    -13.1db audio level. Just wondering, do you guys do this on purpose, or is there some reason for it, or is it just a mistake? Or do you not even pay attention to it at all when editing? Just curious.

      Also, would it be so hard to include the *sound* of the bike? A big part of the point of a video review is the sound. After all, we can already see the bike in photos.

    • @motorcyclenewsdotcom

      Hi there, we're sorry to hear you are experiencing issues. I have just listened back again and the audio comes through fine here. As for the sound of the bike, there was unfortunately some distortion in the original riding clips, hence the decision to overlay the piece with music. I hope you can understand. Dan, MCN.

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah but check your video, it's -13.1db. That is low. On a laptop or phone, easy enough to to crank volume 100% and hear something.. On a home theater it is very very low. But you kind of answered my question anyways. Thanks.

    Sorry guys no disrespect but but these sort of bikes are getting ridiculous only coz of costs.. the over the top electronics.. and only the talented few could possibly ride them to there qualities. .. happy 2019 to all at mcn cheers from dave...

      And yet the GS1200 is the best selling big bike in Europe and the UK. So it makes sense that Ducati is chasing those customers.

    I love the channel and enjoy the content, But i would really like to have a action camera rider view on the reviews. The view you have when you ride, cornering and on the straights is an important aspect of the bike. Still a great video though

    This bike is for someone rich, tall, with world class enduro riding skills who also likes long distance touring on tarmac. About as niche as it gets, LOL

  • @Delaunay73
    @Delaunay73 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Resuming the review:
    Don’t buy a ridiculous expensive supersportive off-road bike if you are poor and has no off-road experience. This years model will better suit shorter rich skilled pilots.

    • @tzon6802

      If that’s what you got from this then yes, go buy a klr650 they’re cheap, underpowered, they don’t do anything really well, but they’re bulletproof..and nobody cares if you dump it. It’s basically a utility vehicle

    I love Multistradas

    • @JpOcDenver
      @JpOcDenver 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill Kerr Like you, I love my Multi. Having taken my GT on some serious trails (nasty rocks, deap-ish sand) around my house with tkc80s, I can confidently say my next one will be an Enduro. I would’ve welcomed any improvement the 19” front could’ve offered. I did some damage to the clutch cover and rear brake lever that I believe wouldn’t have happened with the stock parts that come on the enduro. After doing a 1700 mile trip thru remote parts of New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah last summer, I would also appreciate the larger fuel tank. Additionally, while I managed fairly well on the off-road sections in Utah, the enduro model opens up some tire options that would’ve given me more confidence off-road, while still being good road tires. The 190 rear, and 17” front basically lock me into street-only tires, apart from the tkc80s which wouldn’t stand up to heavy highway use on a long trip. Also, I’d pick the enduro ONLY because I also have the Tuono, so I can afford to give up some road performance on my ‘tourer’. Otherwise I’d agree with you.

    • @Miata822
      @Miata822 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JpOcDenver A Multi AND a Tuono? That's doing it right! My fun bike is a Speed Triple but I still think I'll get the 1260 Multi S this spring for an extended road trip. A Multi with good street tires on rocky mountain twisties just brings the feeling that is the whole reason I ride. Sold my KLR but thinking about adding a CRF450 for Ozark fire roads and trails (but carried there on a trailer).

    To tell you the truth, Michael, that transmission by chain makes it look cheap. The R1250GS or the Super Ténéré are really the adventurers choice.

    • @Erikootje
      @Erikootje 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      how does chan look cheap? KTM ruled the Dakar rallies for the last decade with chain driven bikes....And what drives motoGP bikes? Chain is the way to go if performance is needed.

    Biggest advantage is the huge tank when compared to the standard Multistrada... Not sure I would go on anything more that a dirt or gravel road but still might pick this one
