use 200 lbs of steel tubing and 10-15 welding rods just to lift two computer monitors. thats the type of overengineering that make me proud
some people just prefer objects like this to be stiff and solid.

I love that the speakers rising is slightly delayed. Very cool that they only start rising when the the monitors are about 2/3 of the way up. Quality job!

I love our classic german overengineering. This gives me lot's of ideas for a desk in a camper (omni-)bus. Especially the table top could be used as a light blocking roof. Also if it does not flip over, you could place plants or other things on top which just move upwards with it. I love the idea of the second, lower platform to put the keyboard and mouse (and other peripherals) 😍

Für alle die dachten Nerds machen nur was mit Computern. So mag ich TH-cam. Das ist für mich "Broadcast yourself". Was geiles für sich selbst geschaffen und dann andere daran teilhaben lassen. Einfach nice!

wow, was ein Unterschied zwischen Deinen Tesla Verarsche Video, wo Du wie ein schulmeisterhafter Lehrer rüber kommst und diesem DIY Video (und weiteren guten anderen Videos). Beide Inhalte sind gut, wobei mir der DIY Inhalt deutlich besser gefällt. Danke für die vielen guten Inspirationen, ich werde wohl auch mal wieder etwas aktiver werden.... FETTEN DANK

Hätte ich so eine eigene Werkstatt, würde ich mir das ebenso machen. Ich liebe es Zeit damit zu verbringen, nützliche Dinge im Haus einzuplanen. Dabei kann man das Design vollstens selbst bestimmen und ist nicht dem typischen aufgeklebten oder geschmackslosen Trend ausgeliefert.

Two, no less, unless Apple's free standing monitors have changed appearance recently.
Still, you can obviously install other operating systems on a Mac if you find you need that for your workflow, but given that all the games you're probably about to mention already run on Mac and probably even Linux these days, you may not even need to do that.

that type of stuff is not worth it, if you take work time + cost of stuff used, nobody would still think about buying it, and you can make alot more by just doing regular jobs, otherwise it can only work when it gets an insane exclusive price.

Great piece of work and as someone already pointed out, highly over engineered, but to me that is perfect! I just wondered if a power switch on the monitor cage might be in order so that monitors turn off and on automatically as they retract and extend?
Man this made me want to open my book on my electrical engineering program again. Never thought that a simple arduino with limit switch could made something like this sophisticated tech. Lol.
Well, an arduino is kinda overkill for this. But I guess the fastest solution in that case.

That is by far the most amazing desk I've seen! Throw some LEDs on there and what a gem... Can't image what it weighs and how hard it would be to move it around though. Very cool!

Mega nice. Aber du solltest bei den Eisenstangen, die die hintere Holzplatte hochheben, einen sanften Stoff verwenden, sodass das Holz nicht langfristig belastet wird. ( Kratzer Spuren )

DIY so long as you have a welder, shop setup for metal working and carpentry and the computer knowledge to program an arduino unit

Wenn man die Kommentare hier mal kurz überfliegt, merkt man gleich der Bedarf an einer Serien Produktion ist gegeben. 😉
Ist halt in kleiner Stückzahl eine ziemlich kostenintensive Geschichte.
Aber inspiriert einen wirklich. Könnte man noch verschiedene Modelle produzieren, betreffend unterschiedliche Materialien, indirekte Beleuchtung eventuelle Glaselemente, IR Fernbedienung usw.
Möglichkeiten gäbe es da viele echt... Wie bereits gesagt, äußerst inspirierend das ganze. Tolles Projekt und wirklich spitze umgesetzt.
Super Idee und mega Umsetzung! Werde ich auf jeden Fall zum Teil klauen und in mein „Van Life“ integrieren... da kommt es nämlich ganz besonders air platzsparende Methoden an! 😍👏🏼👏🏼

Und vllt noch eine Art Ablage die man unter dem Tisch hervorziehen kann um ein ipad, Stifte etc... Zu verstauen
Tips, Tricks & More man könnte auch noch eine idunktionsladestation für kabelloses laden in der Schreibtisch Platte verstecken, sodass sein Smartphone automatisch beim Ablegen lädt.

ich bin auch gerade am Überlegen mir einen Schrank mit einem aufrechten Schubladenlift zu bauen, da davor das Sofa steht. Die Idee einen Rolladenmotor zu nehmen finde ich sehr clever :). Ich hatte zuerst überlegt den Antrieb mit einem Nema Motor zu gestalten, aber damit hätte ich noch ein bisschen mehr proggen müssen und auch die Elektronik wäre viel umständlicher geworden.
Bei mir wird das Gerüst zwar aus Holz, da ich leider zuhause kein Schweißgerät habe und zum anderen Holz auch einfach günstiger ist. Ich bin mal gespannt, wann ich es dieses Jahr schaffe. Viel Erfolg bei deinen weiteren Projekten!

Locksmith? That just looks like a general metal workshop to me. Regardless, the plans are of course useless to anyone who doesn't have access to any kind of workshop. Good thing that it can also be made out of wood with the addition of a few extra beams for stability

Was ist wenn der untere endschalter nicht auslöst da würde das System sicher selbst zerstören oder hast du ein sicherheitsfeature eingebaut wie eine Sicherung die bei zu große Last abschaltet

Das ganze wird ja von einem Rolladenmotor angetrieben. Dieser hat eingebaute, mechanische Endschalter. Der Schaltpunkt dieser ist wenige Zentimeter unter dem eigentlichen Endschalter definiert. Das System stoppt also immer!
Über eine automatische Abschaltung hatte ich auch nachgedacht.... Leider kommt man aber nicht an den Ausschalter des iMacs um diesen mit z.B. einem Relais zu triggern. Man könnte halt einfach die 230V kappen, das soll aber laut Google bei dem PMS (Power Management System) von Apple Geräten nicht so toll sein....

@@TipsTricksMore Wenn du mit Abschalten das herunterfahren des Macs meinst, gibt es doch viele Möglichkeiten das zu realisieren. Auf die schnelle würde mir da einfallen, mit dem Arduino, den du nutzt, über den seriellen Port ein Event an den Mac zu senden. Dafür müsstest du dann noch ein Script auf deinem Mac schreiben, der auf den Befehl wartet und dann einen Shutdown ausführt. Aber so könnte man den Mac natürlich nicht starten, was das Problem somit also wohl nicht löst :D

@@TipsTricksMore theoretisch kannst du auch mit einem Servo mechanisch den Schalter am Mac bedienen lassen
Einfacher wäre es wohl den Schalter im Tisch gegen einen Taster zu tauschen. Damit dann den Mac einschalten. Sprich den Schalter vom Mac verlegen. Den Tisch und die Bildschirme kann man auch darüber Steuern. Der Taster gibt halt nur den kurzen Befehl die Aktionen auszuführen. Wie es bei ein PC auch ist. Man drückt nur einmal drauf und er geht an. Ein zweites mal drücken lässt das System runterfahren. Ob das beim IOS auch geht wie bei Windows weiß ich nicht. Windows kann man einstellen was es tun soll wenn man den Powertaster drückt.
