Those bunkers and positions are huge! The 15cm guns were monsters! I believe the ammunition storage was set up so that shells were stored separate from the powder and fuses. That is why the ammunition storage areas are shaped in concrete for those purposes. Strange that the aircraft parts were laying around. Thanks for toughing out the weather to bring us the history of the location!

Thank you both for enduring that horrible wind and rain, to bring us this fascinating gun position! And thank you again EE, (and HH), for the amazing Christmas History Tour, that has brought as such amazing places as this! The size, and depth, of those bunkers near the gun positions themselves, is incredible, and would have taken to much work to complete. And it was quite stunning to see that crew bunker, with the bunk hangers, and even the floor boards, still in place. These little glimpses, even though well worn by time and nature, really help to visualise what those bunkers would have been like, to live in, back when they were being used. And it always amazes me to see the white walls, almost pristine, after all these decades, in these bunkers, despite the storms, and dampness, that they bring. Just incredible stuff. Looking forward to see what else you found at this location! Cheers to you both! Stay safe (and dry)!

That first gun emplacement was amazing; loved how they used the rocks around it. Sad they closed off those bunkers. Even though we have seen lots, it would have been awesome to see them!!! Can't believe those "trays" were stacked up and still there! And loved that the hangers were still there to know it was a crew quarters. Was that wood on the floor there(i know there was sand, but looked like a wooden floor too)??? Ah and the fire control bunker! I knew I saw something in the distance. Can't wait to see that, esp since you mentioned about how something about it is different. Did you keep any of those plane pieces? Be interesting to figure out if friend or foe, lol. It's a good thing that you were well dressed for the nasty wet environment. Wouldn't be surprised if you ended up with some respiratory aliments. Yes, EE is such a strong young boy. So determined to finish the mission and so very knowledgable. He can rattle off the stats. The waves did seem vey high. Would have really been somethig to see the original 15 cm guns. As always, thank you for the photos showing these key points. The foundaiton for the 20 soldier Barrack was still standing. I can't help but wonder where the rest of the structure ended up. The two room Bunker with the MG Turret might have been crude but it suited the purpose. Would have been so interesting to be able to access the 622 Regelbau with the Tobruk. Maybe it was flooded or the local authority felt it was unsafe? Maybe the aircraft fuselage was from an Allied aircraft as you mentioned they were making a huge effort to take control of that defensive position, in which the Germans had quite a stronghold on. Thank you for the photo of the 15 cm gun. The structure was well fortified and posiitoned in an ideal zone. Thank you for taking us inside. I would imagine that the German soldiers came down with sone respiratory condiitons staying in the Crew Bunker with the electronic equipment. Very damp and possiblle mold/fungus. That Atlantic Wall locaiton WAS fantastic. Looking forward to P2. 💕
