Definitely my favorite song from Chapter 2! Fell in love with it when we first enter the town and play a mini-game with one of the music guys. I mean, that was the perfect way to introduce us to this town and enjoy this upbeat song.

@@gunweizard6125 I agree. I felt skeptical when Deltarune came out and even when chap 2 was released. The reason being the sheer amount of expectations we put on him. Then the feeling of realization that the game still has that "certain" charm is always nice to come back to.

I love this game. I'm a 45 year old truck driver who's usually not into stuff like this. But i'm so happy i gave this game a chance, it brings me back to when i was younger and i was a bit more open minded about things and was more interested in trying new things.
I played Deltarune cause i lost a bet with my 18 year old daughter and i'm so happy i did. I love the characters in this game, especially Ralsei, he's my favorite followed closely by Susie. Thanks for making such an amazing game that captivated a side of me that i thought was long gone. I can't wait to play the rest of the series.

I recommend playing undertale as well, because it was made by the same person and was made before deltarune. Undertale was intended to be played before deltarune.

This song honestly gives me such a feeling of celebration and of a triumphant return to the Dark World and the story of Deltarune as a whole, especially after having waited so long for it’s return. It felt like returning to a home we had long been away from to embark on another grand adventure.
This is so true. The impact of returning back to the dark world in a new chapter is so much stronger when there's actually been a big irl time gap in between them, i'm happy to be a part of this since it's not something you can quite experience when every chapter is out and new players will play them all one after another

The beat drop is absolutely phenomenal, so much edm vibes, and so much different from Core's OST. I love it.

The transition between the mini game and the first zone of the cyber world was SUCH A PERFECT MOMENT.
1:05 Hearing this part while playing Chapter 2 for the first time, immediately gave me 009 Sound System vibes, and I had to pause for a second to just appreciate it for a minute or two. I am a 2000's kid, after all.
It reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy X's soundtrack. Those synthesizers in the background that sound like singing voices have straight up ascended me to heaven and beyond, bro.
I think the best part of the Cyber World is hearing so many distinct synth-y or chiptune instruments that were prevalent throughout older RPGs. As well as the whole setting being a callback to the 90's-early 2000's perception of what the internet world looked like in the eyes of someone unfamiliar with it, the computer lab being used as an entrance to the Cyber World is extremely fitting (if only there were some Magic School Bus reference in the PC lab x3). Learning how to use a computer at school 16 years ago evoked the same intriguing feeling as listening to this song, there's just something so wondrous and mysterious about the internet when experiencing it for the very first time that Toby somehow captured in essence. Experiencing that feeling again despite all my years having taken it for granted is a beautiful thing...

This song is the new Field of Hopes and Dreams to me. It slaps just as much and I had the very urge to listen to it right after I beat this wonderful game! I think it was much greater than Chapter 1. May it take another three years, I am always looking forward to Chapter 3! Thank you Toby Fox and your clever ADHD like around the box kind of humor and your genius in music, weirdly funny and interesting headcanons and everything else you come up with in your brilliant mind! I will be happy to see more fanart and other fanmade stuff people put their love and heart into, just like Toby does it for all of us. :>
I don't think Chapter 2 took three years. He was gonna release it all at once so that's why it was taking so long. The reason why Ch 2 even came out right now in the first place was because of the fact Toby decided to throw us all a bone.
@@thesnatcher3616 Thank you for pointing this out! I was just referring to Chapter 2 nearly coming out three years after Chapter 1.
@@thesnatcher3616 In the 2020 progress report he did, Toby said that chapter 2 would be done by the end of that year excluding polishing, so it was probably only properly finished sometime this year. But it was being developed at the same time as the upcoming chapters, so those shouldn't all take 2.5-3 years each.
The main reason it took so long was because Toby was busy planning out the story of all seven chapters, and was experimenting with different engines for the games code. Then Covid happened, then Toby injured his wrist stumping his ability to work at all, so all of that contributed to Chapter Two taking so long. So with this in mind, Chapters 3-5 probably won’t take anywhere near as long to come out (Toby said he’d release 3-5 together as one.)

Having you dodge the bars at the beginning was an amazing way to introduce this new area.
While this doesn’t beat Field of Hopes and Dreams to the lack of epic adventure feeling and no sax, this is a close second due to the fact that it is just so fun, fits the area perfectly, and is just a bop

I wanted to cry when I heard this song. It was like the feeling of my first time playing Undertale 5 years ago, or the first time playing Deltarune almost 3 years ago. Even if it wasn't that long ago, the feel of nostalgia was overwelming. And with this incredible introduction I just knew the game will be as good as the others. And it was. Now to wait some years more
This song honestly felt like I was coming home. Like, the wait was over for Deltarune Chapter 2.
I never got to play undertale unspoiled but anyways it was my favorite game, so deltarune is like a dream came true, i love this game and can't wait to play chapters 3 4 & 5 in one or two years!

I always felt like this opening to Cyberworld was key reassurance that everyone's lengthy waits was well worth it, while also doubling as a welcome back to Toby's very distinct style.
The way this song was introduced in game was genius. When the rhythm section ended I was disappointed because I thought the music would stop, but then it just casually kept on going as the area theme, great stuff
Definitely the "Field of Hopes and Dreams" of this chapter. A catchy, atmospheric piece that introduced you to the world you're about to explore.

Ngl I was slightly tensed up when I was falling off the cliff expecting some crazy guitar hero esque survival minigame. Until I realized it was just the world warming up to the music for a beat drop intro.
Looking back at it now, that's an ingenious way to start the adventure. Just drop on in and let everything else play out to say "Welcome back to Deltarune." Felt amazing.

God Damn. I played this freaking 2 days ago and I'm already nostalgic. I'll never get that chance to experience chapter 2 for the first time again. So many tracks in this one make me feel that way. Toby did an amazing job on this.
Mate. I don't know why but this hits home so much. Is it because the world is changing that fast, is this because we're all sad fucks like I am ? Maybe a mix of both and some mystery. But what you say sure is true, I fear nostalgia because I miss the past so much, I may have finished this chapter not that long ago, it still feels like Childhood, and Im always nervous to play it. But in the end, Im always happy to hear it.

I remember I was mixed on it at first but after a few days this track grew on me so quickly.
It was this song that made me realize something. I was playing deltarune chapter 2. After waiting 2 years. I was finally playing it.
I love the way that they introduced the area to me. Having to slide down while having the bullets come down to the music. Beautiful.
For such a small part of a game, Chapter 2 was one of my favorite gaming experiences yet. Right now, it hasn’t beat Undertale for me, but Deltarune is shaping up to be Toby’s greatest work.

Not really. Sure undertale and deltarune have amazing soundtracks, but there are games with better ones. For example touhou (pls don't argue, I'm not psycho fan) and pokemon mystery dungeon

Deltrune/Undertale's soundtracks are pretty great and the somewhat retro sound they have reminds me of some of Blinch's works, specifically his work on the Loop Hero OST. Both Toby and Blinch are quite talented in my opinion and I wonder if they'd ever both collab at some point since they have some similarities in their styles.
I don't think you played that many varied games if you think that.
This is what made me realize the deltarune and persona series have one main thing in common: each new game is better than its predecessor

the beginning to this song gives me goosebumps each time because of that build up. god. magical. it was breathtaking when I first witnessed it. It's the musical equivalent of a red carpet opening to a new adventure. Never Change Toby, you and your team are amazing.
I have no idea how Toby does it. Just by music alone, he made a wall of pixel buildings and a scrolling 3D background become one of the most rich and wonderous locations I've ever experienced in a video game.

Frl when I played this game and came to this part of the game, the beat drop set everything up for an amazing adventure, a new beginning after years of waiting. I was crying tiny tears of joy inside, I knew this was the start of something amazing.

This has the same vibe of "Field of Hopes and Dreams". It's the super catchy song that plays at the start of a new dark would, announcing that the adventure has officially begun.
when it was 1997 and took our first steps into the newly forged internet, it truly felt like a cyber world, so much wonder and imagination at your finger tips, making our own "fountains" back then in the form of geocities blog pages, many places where you could get lost in fantasy and just forget the woes of the outside world.
This is what this song feels like, our youth and innocence being at its peak, enjoying the wonders of the world wide web, before the corruption muddied our minds and made things less vibrant.
With Undertale and Deltarune, Toby somehow managed to make games steeped in internet culture so wholesome and whimsical that's its inspiring. Lol This track for instance. :'3
