A theory of mine is that the trash compactor destroyed chicas body, but only some of the parts broke which explains why when she yells whilst grabbing Gregory she doesn’t sound muffled and loud, so when Gregory kicked her beak off it ripped the wires to her vocal cords but she had a couple wires to make the loud machine sounds

At first I thought the trash compactor transformed each character into their Shattered variant, though I guess that isn't what happened here because if that were the case the compactor would have turned Vanessa into Vanny, which would have been funny to watch.
