Same thing happened to the 2nd one. Ex 2.. peter actually helping connors after the school fight, i would argue that this was needed in the movie. @Default Bot I think tasm 1 is decent and tasm 2 has some of my favorite spidey moments but it's so damn messy. The whole parents storyline is so dumb and unnecessary and electro is a cartoon character. They also tried to shoehorn Peter and Harry's friendship but it feels so forced. I also think they killed gwen prematurely cause the goblin wasn't even peter's archnemesis yet.
3:53 - Connors' Condolences IS A GREAT SCENE. Gives the villain more character with a moment like this. Definitely more sympathetic, and his words ultimately inspired him to mask up
Thank Avi Arad for the movie's downfall also Avi was the one who forced Sam Raimi to include Venom in Spider-Man 3 even though Sam Raimi only wanted to include Sandman and Harry's Goblin.
I cannot believe these were cut. Theses scenes make the movie 10x better. Bens death was way more effective and kinda scary. I always hated how he tried to stop the guy with the gun when he wasn’t even doing anything
Honestly the final cut where he wrestles for the gun is still a good way to kill Ben. It shows that Ben is living up to the “if you have the power then it’s your responsibility or everything else that happens is because you let it” but unfortunately Ben didn’t have the power and paid the price. Which hurts even more for Peter because he knew he had the power and he saw the crime happen right in front of him which means everything that happened afterwards was because he did nothing.
@@portsidedyldo2661 nah i honestly thought it was stupid. i get what you’re saying but in the context of the movie it made no sense. in fact what he did was the most irresponsible thing to do. the guy wasn’t gonna shoot anyone. he tripped and the gun fell out. why on earth would you try to grab someone else’s gun if they weren’t doing anything. it made it look more like the thief basically acted in self defense while uncle ben was tryna take his gun from him for no reason
The Amazing Spider-Man's version of the Lizard is easily my least favourite Spider-Man film villain due to how little there was to his character outside of wanting to turn people into lizards. And I really do feel that the deleted scene featuring his son Billy (along with the other deleted scenes involving Curt) would've actually gave Curt more of a personality outside of this motivation.
In the final cut, Peter just happens upon Connors’ hideout, and finds out everything he needs to know from a video Connors made, is all convenient and stupid. These scenes however, show that Dr. Connors voluntarily takes Peter where his hideout is whilst in his lucid state, giving the impression that he knows he’s gone to far, and wants Peter to know what he’s done to help him.
exactly. They really missed out on showing that Connors needs help and Peter is just trying to help him. These scenes just show how much better the movie would've have flowed if they kept the scenes.
Not really the scene isn’t Peter getting lucky, Conners made this video so if anyone ever did find his hideout they would know why he did what he did in case he died or something else happened
I think we needed to see more of Kurt Connors' decent into madness as well as his relationship with Peter like the Cathedral scene. It continues with the idea of Peter's struggle to have a father figure like the Rami trilogy. That alongside the scene with him and his son show that he isn't attacking just because he lost his job, but because his dream of being able to properly hug and be with his son was essentially crushed by the company that he had spent loyally serving for years.
They absolutely need to release The Lizard Cut. If I was Rhys Iffans I’d be fucking furious about how they cut some of these scenes out. I can’t believe I never saw these before now but holy shit he nailed this role.
This is legit one of the many reasons as to why I love Connors so much! The amount of effort and emotion Rhys Iffans put into his role as Connors/The Lizard was incredible to see!
After watching all of these deleted scenes, I love Connors even more! These scenes added a whole lot more to him, and it’s disappointing that they removed these.

I don't get why cut a movie with such unique character moments, with such passion from the director, to be just a scene by scene rehash of Raimi's movies. Also, Peter knowing who the Lizard is and helping him, that's their dynamic from the comics.
I do not find it a rehash of the raimi movies. and another thing- a big complaint about the holland movies is that they aren't following the same tropes as the raimi movies. Very silly double standards in this community.
@@bagelbramble7335 not really. In no way what so evere raimi universe Ben saw a black silhouette and thought it was Peter and chased him down the dark alley.
Sum of these scenes made Connors feel more like a human, and like a real inspiring guy, which would make it better for the story cause you see the transition from that to the lizard and how the lizard affected him.
It's kind of funny that they decided to use the Lizard, while deleting the most important aspect about the character in the comics, that he's a caring father and husband tragically turned into a monster.
@@damjanmijajlovic3570 You're actually kinda right tho. This one has almost no context. But the other one feels forced imo. So it's really a matter of pick your poison.
The Lizard is an amazing villain in the comics. Like, Green Goblin levels if you read the right places. This cut of the film would have showed that a little better.
I loved the darker take on Spider-Man in this movie. Too bad ppl don't appreciate it enough, and I don't think there's ever going to be a Spider-Man movie that is dark in recent times
As much as I love Tobey Maguire there is something extremely special about Andrew Garfield.....please tell me I'm not the only one I want another Spider-Man film with Andrew Garfield in it please make it happen. If we can have multiple Batmans simultaneously in cinema why not spider-man?
Andrew is a more broken Peter. When he is down, brutally beaten by his own anger, someone who loves him will always be there for him. He then rises from the darkness, from his own misery. He becomes the Amazing Spider-man. But good things never last. The one who was there for him, every last one, will be gone. Ben, Captain Stacy, Gwen.... After losing so many people, no one will be there to help him rise from the darkness. So he succumbs to his own anger. He stops pulling his punches. He stop worrying about what the kids who adore him would think of Spider-man. But those anger, those hatred, those loneliness make him even more powerful. It made him the Superior Spiderman At least this is how i want it to went down. Andrew and Webb's version of spiderman is what i need spiderman to be. Broken and emotionally tortured. Up to the point where he needs to stand up by himself without anyone helping him
In literally every version of the lizard that is good, his son is an integral part of the dynamic, so it NEVER made sense to me that they cut that scene from the film.
@@johnhenry4844 when u see it individually it do..but I feel there's no right place to add that scene in the movie,if they could mention his son in some other way it would have been apt ig.. like in conversation or a photo or sth, that would be more powerful ig...
@@mridhulml9238 I always thought Dr connors should have just been a scientist that had a relationship with Peter for whatever reason, like he visited the school a year ago and was impressed by him, so Connors is like another father figure in the beginning of the movie. Maybe mention his family situation then. Overall it have given his decline into madness a better feel and more impactful to Peter Rather than parent bs but idk
Yeah and the doctor connors confronting him about his uncles death and telling him to be greater is probably what this movie needed. If they had that scene before the vigilante stuff that would make it understandable and probably a better overall movie
I actually never had major issues with the first Amazing Spider Man movie (with the second one either), but if they decided to go with all these cutscenes, the movie could have been so much better
That's not an opinion, that is a fact. Uncle Ben's death was handled way better than the one we got in the finished product. That would've gave the audience that spine chilling feeling because we know that wasn't Peter when Ben thought that person was Peter. Much better than Uncle Ben trying to save the day.
@@ashgreninja-flurriko2173 "that is a fact" no its not, Uncle ben was the type of person who would indeed try be a hero, because he felt that way. Thats how it happens in the comics and even in raimis spiderman, he doesn't die randomly because he followed someone, he dies trying to help people
@@mikechartofilis He didn't die helping anyone. Some random dude dropped a gun while he didn't harm anyone and he just yelled and went for it. I enjoy this movie, but this death just feels better.
Me neither I was like are you stupid it's like you're trying to get yourself killed and then the fact when she gets shot Peter screams call the ambulance people just walk around like they didn't see anything which was very weird
Seems a more human reaction to grab the gun at close range not wanting to be shot anyways. You just don't know how a person will react under pressure, and sadly its always been canon that Uncle Ben dies anyways. Being robbed in New York City and being shot in a random street crime, is always quite realistic, ironically enough!
The point of this was to show that even though Uncle Ben had no great power, he saw the gun and had the responsibility to stop the criminal from hurting anyone else, that's why he grabbed the gun, because with great power comes great responsibility
If you will look closely in Tracking Connor's part then you will see Doc was wearing a green sleeve to be replaced by the VFX artists later with Lizard hand, that means these scenes were ready and with final cuts were just not sent to VFX departments
Sony messed up Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and got too involved and controlling with Spider-Man 3. They then messed up TASM franchise with all these deleted scenes and studio interference then finally they made Tom Holland leave the MCU, he’s back now but still... Whenever Sony gets involved Spider-Man never works. Insomniac Games made it work first try. Reasonebeing they didn’t have Sony.
Fanboy Comix I mean technically he’s still with marvel because he still counts as a marvel character. Marvel and marvel studios aren’t the same imo, I associate marvel more with the comics and cartoons and marvel studios with the movies.
Fr bro, never let Sony get in the way of a Spiderman movie or any movie in general. They mess up everything. I dont get why they're still a thing. They get so much hate for what they've done and still have the balls to keep messing up Spiderman. Now they're putting Holland in their universe with Venom, but Venom isnt in the MCU. How tf does that work. Screw Sony. The only thing good that comes out of them is the playstation
Certain scenes were rightfully cut, like Peter bringing home the eggs at the end of the released cut was more touching. However, having Conor's/lizards character being more sympathetic/tragic to the viewer, similar to Jeff Goldblums' character in The Fly, where you really want to see him saved rather than killed, would have been more unique in a film like this.
1st deleted scene - Seeing Uncle Ben assume that bank robber was Peter was a very spine chilling moment because you know that wasn't Peter. It adds suspense around that scene. Definitely better than Uncle Ben trying to save the day and that cop out "Not my policy". What a ripoff of "I missed the part where that's my problem". 2nd deleted scene - Seeing Dr Connors show Peter the same rat that was missing an arm got his arm back and this is what was convincing Peter to stay at Oscorp because without him, Fred never would've got his arm back. 3rd deleted scene - Yeah, I don't think this was needed. 4th deleted scene - Seeing Rajit (Irrfan Khan) find out that Dr Connors was starting the experiment by himself makes you wonder what he's going to do next. It makes the audience actually think of what's to come. 5th deleted scene - Now this is the scene where we learn that Dr Connors has a son, which shows character growth because it gives us more of a reason why he needs his arm back so he can hug his son again and be a normal father. 6th deleted scene - A beautiful romance on top of the Clock Tower showing us more of Peter and Gwen's relationship. 7th deleted scene - This is definitely the scene after Dr Connors found out that Peter is Spider-Man and figures out what he's trying to do with his research. He was scared at first and then, immediately knows that he's stronger than Peter due to his transformation that gives him so many attributes of a lizard. 8th deleted scene - Unnecessary. 9th deleted scene - Now this is the scene where Peter discovers that Dr Connors was The Lizard. 10th deleted scene - Because of Peter's intelligence, he finds out that Dr Connors is using this to transform the population into lizards as well. The exact moment where Dr Connors transforms back into The Lizard, Rajit shows up to get the research, Dr Connors kills him after transforming into The Lizard, and escapes to turn everyone into lizards. Seriously, that's so much going on in just a few minutes and this is literally what was missing in the movie. You have emotional moments with Uncle Ben's death, you have character growth with Dr Connors and his son,you have the brutal scene of Dr Connors killing Rajit with no mercy, and you have that beautiful romance with Peter and Gwen at the Clock Tower. All of that is just, for some reason, out the window. That's stupid. These scenes are what fill up gaps in between scenes of the movie.
Totally agree :) I would just also add that the 5th scene is also imortant, in my opinion, because it shows how Dr. Connors leaves his son with a parting message that encourages violence or retaliation. I'm not trying to say self-defense isn't ever justified, but it seems to parallel Peter's initial quest for vengence too, to me. (Maybe this is reaching a bit, but the end of scene 5 contradicts what Connors said he wanted for the world in the deleted sewer scene. Bc in the sewer scene, even though he claims to want *equality,* he asks Peter, "Would you go back? Would you give up the *power*"; that points to Connors's own misplaced sense of shame and weakness over the loss of his arm, as if human vulnerability is itself corrupt and in need of fixing by him personally, which also points to his vainity. Keeping the scenes with Connors in the sewer, giving condolences to Peter, talking to his son--they all make Connors a more developed character, as you said, and give more context to Peter's later decision in the movie to protect/spread hope rather than seek vengence as spider-man).
Tbh i prefer what we got with Uncle bens death over the deleted scene. I feel it complements bens words minutes ago about power and responsibility. Instead of it just being a random accident of ben thinking he saw peter when he didnt. But I do think its important that Peter come off saying "not store policy" Its supposed to be peter dissing the guy as thats how hes supposed to learn his lesson. Tobey wasnt the 1st one to ever say sumn along the lines of "its not my problem". The cashier was also an asshole to Peter so thats him getting payback.
Marc Webb: So, I've got what I think this film needs, a humanized character, not a lot of plot holes - Sony: You should cut those things you just talked about. Marc Webb: What? Why? Sony: Giant. Lizard.
Some of these deleted scenes actually give more background and meaning to Rhys Ifans character of Dr. Connors/The Lizard. Wish we could see more though some of his deleted scenes actually are more striking to the audience since we wanted to see more scenes of the antagonist than just his wish of reclaiming his arm and turning everybody into lizards.
All these scenes should have been kept in the movie. However I am satisfied with the 5 seconds of the girls were talking in a bathroom stall were cut. That bit was just really awkward.
It was gross also you can see dr Curt conners using his actual tongue like licking at them clearly because the cgi was so bad. I actually felt disturbed watching that
The final cut of this movie you can tell it wants to be such a nuanced film, but it’s missing character interactions that would have helped it. These deletes scenes show me that there was a film with deep nuance and depth that was never able to be fully realized
I feel like in the movie we didn't really get a bonding relationship between Connors and Peter. Connors is a father figure to Peter and Peter is just trying to help him. So many great scenes with Connor and Peter getting cut are so disappointing. I wish they kept these in.
This movie could of been a masterpiece, Dr Connors and letes relationship from these scenes give me that vibe of doc ock and Pete's relationship from SM2, so many scenes that could.of made this movie up there with SM 2
When Connors is in the sewers talking to himself saying he's stronger than spiderman reminds me of when doc ock was in the building in the river talking to himself very similar scenes could of been great
In retrospect, I wish they committed to the idea of "this is a different spider-man". It probably wouldn't have pleased anyone or saved the franchise, but at least they wouldn't feel as close to the Raimi movies.
Honestly, fuck the runtime limit and whatever the studio mandated; I would’ve kept most of these scenes in the film! Except the Lizard tongue thing. That the movie was fine without.
Uncle Ben's death was so much better done here and hell Connors' revelation and his scenes with his son were so well done. Such a shame that they cut this out
Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 were the best! I just tier up whenever I see these movies because when i was younger I bought the amazing Spider-Man 1 when it first came out these will always be the best in my mind!
TASM 1 was the FIRST Spidey movie i EVER watched in the theatre IN 3D. Of COURSE it has a special place in my heart, no matter HOW many critics shit on it, and its sequel ( okay theres no point defending the SEQUEL) the first TASM is stiol my favourite incarnation of teen Pete, rivalled only by Specatcular Spider-man. But as a character , i much prefer the Ps4 game's version on Pete or the hobo Pete from ITSV.

I like the scenes with curt conners, these scenes would have made the fanbase who hated amazing spiderman love it instead. But sony is full of idiots.
Except for the "Bad Lizard" scene, these deleted scenes are pretty interesting (as well as mostly important) and would've benefited the movie more. Don't get me wrong, the movie itself is still good, but these would've made it better.
Marvel has a knack for making the most important scenes the most unseen. Like every single deleted scene had context and texture. They should drop a directors cut.
@@mridhulml9238 dont come at me like that internet p***y when theres literally a deleted scene where Hulk smashes out of the Hulkbuster, and even in Sony films how Andrew Garfield's TASM that had deleted scenes that could have solved most of the plotholes as you can see and it seems EVERY marvel movie has that issue. Catch up loser.
The way Uncle Ben died in these deleted scenes, and the original themes and events leading up to it are more accurate to the comics and just way better in my opinion. It's sad that these were cut.
It’s crazy to think how deep Connor’s story is here, the fact Peter gets to hear the fact he has been the one who made it possible for Connor to be in the state he is in. Connor knows he has gone too far and he rubs it in peter’s face. This scene has so much depth to it. But yet it gets removed and the story becomes half eaten and week. Maybe someone can edit these scenes in HD themselves and a re cut of the original movie.
The part where he was following connors was awesome, it gave that touch of stealth that wasn't really a big thing in the movie, the condolences were amazing, and even the girls terrified by the lizard. I don't get why they have to delete so many great scenes

Wow these deleted scenes actually add so much to the story, especially Connor's. Feel so sorry for Webb and Garfield ;(
The Amazing Spider-Man's version of the Lizard is easily my least favourite Spider-Man film villain due to how little there was to his character outside of wanting to turn people into lizards.
Thats great men
Not really the scene isn’t Peter getting lucky, Conners made this video so if anyone ever did find his hideout they would know why he did what he did in case he died or something else happened
Connors made tapes so if anyone's ever found his hideout they'd understand
@@rational_uppercut1392 fam, he's talking about the final version of the movie. These are deleted scenes, it says that in the title.

Also, Peter knowing who the Lizard is and helping him, that's their dynamic from the comics.

I guess Aunt May finally got her eggs
Lol I love that scene I don’t know why they cut it out
They didn’t cut it though, it is still in the final cut, Peter brings the eggs after the climax
As much as I love Tobey Maguire there is something extremely special about Andrew Garfield.....please tell me I'm not the only one
I want another Spider-Man film with Andrew Garfield in it please make it happen.
It made him the Superior Spiderman
At least this is how i want it to went down. Andrew and Webb's version of spiderman is what i need spiderman to be. Broken and emotionally tortured. Up to the point where he needs to stand up by himself without anyone helping him

The 1st deleted scene shouldn't have been deleted, I think it makes more "sense" than the actual scene of the movie. But it's just my opinion...
He tried to wrestle the gun away from the man, he was trying to stop him, he was trying to be a hero.
Every Connors scene just could give the movie more sense in every possible way
Uncle Bens death in this was way better. I didn't like how in the final cut, Ben yelled and tried to grab the gun, like... WHY!?!?!
Same
The point of this was to show that even though Uncle Ben had no great power, he saw the gun and had the responsibility to stop the criminal from hurting anyone else, that's why he grabbed the gun, because with great power comes great responsibility
@@kritheekbeemadi407 But like..aren’t people in New York able to bare firearms? And his killer didn’t exactly shoot anyone.

These scenes are better than what we got
"We have to be greater than what we suffer" - Peter heard this twice, from Dr. Connors and Gwen
I didn't even realise that Gwen Said these words until you mentioned it..
But it felt very lively when Connors said it
These made me happy watching them, but also sad too. I really wish these scenes as well as TASM2 scenes had not been cut from the films.
Totally agree :)
I would just also add that the 5th scene is also imortant, in my opinion, because it shows how Dr.
Keeping the scenes with Connors in the sewer, giving condolences to Peter, talking to his son--they all make Connors a more developed character, as you said, and give more context to Peter's later decision in the movie to protect/spread hope rather than seek vengence as spider-man).
last scene seems like gwen was at the door after the funeral
Not my policy happens on the 616 comics, except peter was just casually walking on the street
not a ripoff, he actually said it in the 616 comics bro check your facts
Tbh i prefer what we got with Uncle bens death over the deleted scene.
I feel it complements bens words minutes ago about power and responsibility. Instead of it just being a random accident of ben thinking he saw peter when he didnt.
But I do think its important that Peter come off saying "not store policy"
Its supposed to be peter dissing the guy as thats how hes supposed to learn his lesson. Tobey wasnt the 1st one to ever say sumn along the lines of "its not my problem". The cashier was also an asshole to Peter so thats him getting payback.
This film could have been amazing without all the studio interference. Andrew and Marc clearly had a vision for how it was going to turn out.
Marc Webb: So, I've got what I think this film needs, a humanized character, not a lot of plot holes -

The final cut of this movie you can tell it wants to be such a nuanced film, but it’s missing character interactions that would have helped it. These deletes scenes show me that there was a film with deep nuance and depth that was never able to be fully realized
