    Great video and for someone just starting out you have got some great shots. A tip for anyone who is looking for a good starter camera and likes the AE-1 from Canon there is also the AT-1 . It is just an all manual version of the same camera without the program mode and usually way cheaper. Minoltas are also a great option.

    Your desk camera setup looks great. What lens/camera are you using. Also next time you are in the Bay try Looking Glass Photo in Berkeley.

    Wow that was such a great video! Honestly I’ve been watching your videos for years! And I am enjoying your new endeavor! I’m along for the ride! Haha Because of you I just bought my first contax iia today and I’m waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I have 0 experience with cameras or film! So I would def love to see more videos focusing on the contax camera and what the different films mean? I get so confused. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos!

      Thank you so much for your support on my journey!! & so happy you got one too! I will definitely make more in-depth videos but to answer your question in the simplest form, different film-stocks just has different looks that’s all!😊

    Hi!! Do you normally shoot with flash? Or is it on auto flash? I have a disposable that I am currently using and I was wondering if photos turn out better with it without flash. Thanks, love your work!

    • @jlinhh
      @jlinhh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I usually only use flash in dark settings! I actually only have 2 photos using flash in this video; the one of me and andy at 7:23 and me in front of the spinning carnival ride at 8:35 😊

    For the cinestill 800T, did you use a camera with flash when shooting the night shots?

    • @jlinhh

      Out of the 15 photos shown, only one was taken with flash (the portrait of me in front of the swing ride)!

    Hellooo, I recently got very interested on film photography and I'm a beginner, is it okay when you accidentally turned off your film camera and you still have like 20+ exposure left and you wanna turn on again to continue the exposure left? Is that gonna ruin your photo or something?I know I'm a bit too late for you to notice my comment, but if you do,I'd really appreciate it. Thank you🥺

    • @jlinhh
      @jlinhh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!! I saw this comment right on time 😊 When you’re not using the camera it’s okay to turn it off! It wont ruin the photos. Just make sure not to open the back to expose the film until the roll is done!

    • @jlinhh
      @jlinhh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! I always keep it on AF mode but I make sure to use a higher film speed if I know I’ll be shooting at night (like cinestill 800t or portra 800). If it’s super dark then I’ll use flash!

    I get the feeling you should lower the microphone sensitivity. I feel distortion and a suspiciously small amount of detail in the sound.

    Your Tiktoks inspired me to shoot in film for the first time and I LOVE it! My husband is so happy that I'm into it cause he's been into it since he took classes in high school and has been a great help to me☺️ I started off with my parents' old Olympus Stylus Epic Zoom 80 from the early 2000s and now I want to try shooting in rangefinders. I'm in the market in getting the Contax G1 or G2 and I'm wondering if you remember the eBay seller you got your G2 from? 😊

    Nice video. thanks for sharing your favourite films and cameras! I do want to try film photography, but the only thing I would say is that film photography sounds attractive when others do it, until you get to the cost of developing your photos. $20 is a lot of money to develop 36 exposures, not including the cost of the film itself. $12 is a little better though :)
