Oh love the idea of using oil on them! The best part is the boards are from my local dollar store so if it doesn't work they are easily replaceable. Thanks so much for the great suggestion! ❤️
@@homewithkellyp Glad to help! They do sell cutting board oil, but any oil could really work. You wouldn't want it to be an animal based fat, and preferably an oil that doesn't easily go rancid.
For the dish soap & hand soap, I used pint size mason jars & got pump lids on Amazon for them. I really like your backsplash. I too just recently “discovered” the name of this décor style that I’ve been using for several years now, & I love it. So calming & comfortable, not cluttered or stuffy.
Everything was looking so nice until you brought out that large bottle of Dawn dish soap. If it has to be on your counter then I would suggest putting it in a nice dispenser bottle. Of course, it’s your kitchen so you should do whatever you like. Just thought you might like my suggestion. Thx so much for sharing. It all looks beautiful.
Haha - I know. Honestly, I have tried so many other bottles and I cannot find one that works and looks good. Still on the hunt for something! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment - love to hear what suggestions people have! Hope you have a wonderful day!! ❤️
Hi Kelly ...you did a great job with the coastal theme . My idea for your lantern is to keep the candle in it and I also put battery warm white lights and it looks great !
Staining the wood chopping board with just a medium shade would be great! The lamp shade is not christmassy but maybe adding a ribbon or anything with blue/yellow tints would bring it together with the rest of your decor! Thank you for sharing your decorating time & pieces! ❤️
Hi Rebecca! Thanks for the encouragement to stain the.boards. I think I am definitely going to try it - on at least one. The good news is they are from my local dollar store so if they don't look nice they can be replaced easily!! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video!! I truly appreciate it! ❤️
I love the lantern, could you maybe change to something other than the evergreen if it reminds you of Christmas? Maybe some springs of thyme or blooming rosemary sprigs?
Thanks for the tip about the peonies. I have some but have always feared the ants in my house. Your kitchen turned out lovely. And I don't think the hanging lamp looks Christmasy. Totally right call though moving the plant to the other side of the sink. It balanced better. :)
Hi and thank you so much for your sweet comments. I have to say the peony trick worked so well and I swear it preserved then somehow beause they lasted in my kitchen for over a week! And I hear you about the ants - it was always the reason I never wanted to bring the flowers inside. Have a wonderful day! ❤️
Hey, Kelly! Everything looks so pretty and I love the "Coastal Grandmother" look. This video popped up on my suggested page and I realized I hadn't checked you out in a while. I hope you're doing well. I love the tip about the flowers. ❤
Hi Sherri!!! Omg! How are you doing? I just got your video on my suggested page too so I am so happy to reconnect. Looking forward to seeing what you have been up to. Honestly, that tip for the peonies is amazing! After 5 days mine still look fresh. ❤️
Hey everyone!! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my kitchen refresh. I love the way it turned out.
The lamp….maybe add some shells ? So it removes the Christmas feel
Very nice, but you can decant the dish detergent into a pretty pump bottle for a nicer look. 😉
I love blue and white. Such a lovely kitchen! 😍🥰❣️
Thank you so much Olivia!! I really appreciate your kind words. ❤️

The blue and white is very pretty.
Love how you decorated your coffee bar - very nice touches.
Everything looks lovely. I would leave the cutting board, there is something about light wood with white/cream background.
If you oiled the cutting boards it would pull out the color differences and deepen the color a bit as well as conditioning the wood.

@@homewithkellyp I'm doing well. I can't wait to try the flower trick.
I put my “dish soap” into a pump dispenser…the sort for hand wash …
I appreciate you don’t want a Pinterest kitchen. I don’t either.
I don't have the energy to keep up with a Pinterest worthy kitchen - LOL! TFW!!
If you are going coastal I would wipe white paint on them and wash off wipe off …so they look sun bleached .
Food grade stain for your cutting boards.
Most stain not food safe could try mineral oil

The lantern looks nice-not Christmasy.
I don’t think it looks christmassy. It looks like a lantern
