The original duo-sonics could sound like that by flipping the switches to have the pickups out of phase, I use mine that way quite a bit. His is a modern reissue with just the one toggle switch so yes, it was probably done with a wah. Very cool tone.
I'm a 70-year-old rocker that became a huge Chris Buck fan watching him dissect Beatle songs. Then I discovered him as the artist he is and became an even larger fan. This is awesome!!
If you consider the most influential and inspiring guitarists over the years, they made their instrument their voice. Chris Buck is at the precipice of the blurring of the lines between player and instrument. He uses the guitar in the most vocal and expressive way, often his lines become another melody, an answer to a question the vocalist is asking. I think of it as where you end and your instrument begins, the less apparent that separation, the more touched I am. I am also more touched by artists I know to be humble and warm, which he most certainly is. Anna Calvi, in a much different way has done this for me, if we are talking about newer artists. Should mention also, a very tight band and a lonely soulful singer in this band, even with his playing they wouldn't be getting this much hype if they didn't have something. Let this open the flood gates for guitar again. Please 🙏 Thank you for great music guys
Totally agree, Joseph. Chris has a rare sensibility in his playing that you don't hear very often. He is able to touch on those places of deep honesty & emotion and effectively express it through his playing. It is a true gift... one that is gratefully received.

@@gron-go The last guitarist who really blew my mind was Omar Rodriguez, and that was 20 years ago. Before that John Frusciante and J Mascis. I’ve started really appreciating Gilmore recently and Buck it’s up there with how he influences my playing.
I got to say that I like this song better than “ Tell me how you feel.” The slower tempo is really in Tom’s wheelhouse and his vocal phrasing is magic. Combine that with the virtuoso Chris and it is out of this world. I can’t wait for more.

Chris Bucks guitar soars never oversttated but always on the mark and he always takes you with him. The soulful vocals reach in and grab you, what a atriculated voice. I have not heard such a talented band worth a listen in my 75 long years. These guys are exiting and goung to the top and they deserve it.
