As far as I can see in your video, you’re playing with your right hand using the flesh of your fingers. Would not it be better to use your finger nails to hit the strings? Almost every fingerpicking guitarist I’ve seen uses his/her nails to strike the strings-especially classical music guitarist.
Hey Stan. I always teach my students to use the "half-nail, half-flesh" technique where you start out with the flesh of your finger, and end off with the nail. This gives it a nice warm tone. Picking with only the nail of your finger sometimes gives a sound the is too bright, whereas picking with only the flesh gives a dull sound. This is what I've seen inside the fingerstyle/classical community.
