legit thought you were about to drop a discount code for this festival lmao
Adema wasn't but rock, but Kris, their drummer says what's up.
Yes, let's get tallah, tetrarch, falling in reverse all on one show
WTF where the fuck is the PUYA?!!!!
These are all my CDs from the 90s....my rack was one of those spinning ones... Still a hell of a line up...didn't even know a lot of these bands still tour
Every time Finn edits in “here’s the thing” it gets me lol
But that's not all
You voted for us three years in a rowwwww
What is the original clip from?
@@milesbell184 revolver golden gods awards 2013 I believe. Black veil brides.
He's explained it before, but what is it from?
There are so many fans that love these bands that haven't had the chance to see them because they were too young when these bands were in their prime. Dont be upset that they are at the top, new bands will have a chance to develop, they have time
I was too busy to go to other peoples shows back then. I missed my life there. So many bands in this thing I wanted to see. I couldn't go.
Seeing Korn, Deftones, Health, Evanescence and 100 gecs all in one day sounds like the ultimate rock festival experience to me
One song per band. Amazing
@@PsillyApeUSA Earlier in the day bands will get 25 to 30 minutes
I went to when we were young and with all the stages I almost thought they could fit more bands lol
Total Agree
Got these tickets mainly because it’s mine and my husband’s 14th anniversary, he LOVES Korn and SOAD, and also because we’re seeing Blink the week before. Going to be an amazing anniversary month!
Bands that got left out of this one:
Limp Bizkit (Maybe because of Fred's health concerns?)
Mudvayne
Slipknot
From Ashes To New (They deserve to be on this)
Adema
Hed (Pe)
Drowning Pool
Reunions that would've been perfect for this:
Taproot
TRUSTcompany
Spineshank
Factory 81
40 Below Summer
I'd add Nothingface (personal fave of that era) but unfortunately Matt Holt passed away a couple years ago.
@@reaverofsouls Yea I meant more so ones that were possible. Shocked God Forbid or Shadows Fall didnt make it on this since they're both back. Third Strike, Primer 55 and Nothingface won't happen sadly since all of their frontmen have passed.
I completely agree. I would also throw in Nonpoint and American Head Charge.
@@aalfonso1981 Yea shocked Nonpoint didn't get on this one. AHC would've been perfect. Maybe also Chimaira if Mark Hunter could handle it with his vocal issues.
Trust company was great 🤘
Coming from a 13 year old who was introduced to metal through korn, soad, slipknot, and bands like that this is a festival I would really want to go to
Me too. Im 23 and i want to see all these bands
Used to LOVE soad and slipknot... Now I'm just tired of them haha boring and so much cringe when I hear about stuff of members of both bands
I'm 19 and a lot of these bands are my high school faves. These are also bands that a lot of non rock/metal fans would recognize, especially young people. There's definitely a group of teenage stoners that would kill to go see this live.
Damn you've been alive for 13 years
@@Foryes78i thats crazy bro was born like a few months ago fr
100 gecs and Death Grips make perfect sense cause both go insanely heavy live. MC Ride is dope on the mic
Death grips are industrial hip hop and a large chunk of this line up are industrial it makes perfect sense. Death Grips are pretty much the biggest non legacy industrial act of the 2010s.
machine girl, DG, and gecs playing in the same place is fucking wild lmao
You’d be surprised with how much Gen Z knows about all these artists, this is definitely catering to nostalgia but Gen Z worships Y2K era music and style. This will be huge.
This is true - there's old nu-metal songs blowing up on TikTok.
GenZ hates millenials, but they also really love to cosplay as them and obsess over their culture...
It's the same as the weird millennial fixation with the 80s. Stranger Things wouldn't have blown up if it was just Gen X old folks watching Netflix.
Yes, its a weird paradox that most generations both love and hate the previous generation.
Fr I hear nu metal on tik tok soooo much
Incubus are still killing it today Finn, really big and a lot of output
They should ask Finn "Are You In?"
@@RatelHBadger HI YO!
@@RatelHBadger To anyone who doesn't like Incubus: Nice to know you, goodbye!
Came here to say this and glad someone else did. I've been to a handful of their shows in recent years... Hell! The first concert was when they toured with Deftones and holy shit I was blown away having gone in with no expectations.
They put on an amazing show, the energy was incredible and can say without a doubt one of the best I've been to
Incubus live is amazing 😭 I love them so much! Hopefully they don’t overlap with Korn or Evanescence so I can pop in and see them!
Finally a festival where I can see System Of A Down, Cradle Of Filth, Death Grips, Turnstile, and Mr. Bungle all in one fucking go.
Don't you think that it's not about current state of rock music, may it be just because of the power of any single record, the groove, riffs, lyrics, angst and anger, the combination of it all just keeps people hooked up for DECADES and it's not a bad thing! Yes, it's okay to be excited to hear a live performance of your favourite song from 2003 record! When artists put so much effort and emotion into songs, they simply are not getting washed away in time.
P.S. Chevelle is incredibly underrated band and their latest album fucking slays as much as their prime records
I will say, as much as the nostalgia thing is annoying, that I think it's cool for people who thought they'd never get a chance to see these bands live to now have the opportunity to see them all in one spot. Especially for people who got into older acts way late.
I can’t get over Mr Bungle and Death grips playing the same festival, it feels like a meme
People don't want new music from these bands. We just to hear the old music that we love
As someone who graduated high school in 2000, I am seriously considering flying out to see this from new England, not because I really love most of these bands, but it's like a one-stop bucket list of nu-metal bands that I never saw back in the day. Although, Limp Bizkit and Rage really should've been on the list...
I never got the chance to see any of these bands back when I was into them in my teens, so sure, I'd probably consider going if Las Vegas wasn't on the opposite end of the world, even if obviously none of these bands are in their prime anymore. I get it. It's certainly a problem that nostalgia acts are the only things having any kind of impact on the rock/metal scenes anymore, and it's depressing to take a look at the lineup of most rock festivals, but this kind of thing is a symptom rather than the cause of the problem
They probably couldn't get rage on the Ticket due to Zacks Foot injury.
If they could get RatM and SoaD on the same bill though, my soul would probably leave my fucking body
@@Astrlfire Yeah, I know, it was more of a Nu Metal completionist fantasy lineup kind of thing.
@Jamie DeLorenzo Seriously? I'd go check out Stalin's band if he released bangers like Rage. Who gives a f**k? There are no party lines in the pit.
@Jamie DeLorenzo: 🤣 tickets would be tripled just by RATM being there. Their whole fuck capitalism unless it works for us thing.
Sevendust is super underrated in my opinion. They got cool/unique sound; kind of like blend of Hootie & The Blowfish mixed with Korn.
THE KORNBLOWERS?
I must say this is one of the most impressive looking festivals I have seen in a very long time.
Indeed.
Chevelle is a damn good band, thank you.
Incredible band.
They’re great live too. Loud and heavy sound
Deftones & Korn - nuf said ♥
NARROW HEAD

I'm going for Deftones 100%
facts
Beyond Nu Metal, this is an incredible lineup for anyone who was into industrial music or was gothic adjacent. KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, Sisters of Mercy? This transports me right back to climbing through Rory's window after school to play on his computer while he slept and had these records playing on repeat.
System Of A Down has released new music this year dude. All of those headlining bands are still making records. They've put out enough of a catalog to headline. They sell enough tickets to warrant a setlist that long. The last Evanescence album was really good and has some of their best material to date. Deftones are still my favorite band from the time that I first I heard Around The Fur. I think the bigger issue is that Limp Bizkit isn't headlining. Their last album was nice and they've proven that they can play in front of hundreds of thousands of people at Lolla just last year. I was fortunate enough to catch them the day before with Spiritbox, at the Metro which holds 1100 people. Great show. Spiritbox was good but the energy in the room when Limp Bizkit came on is something that you can't describe anywhere but a Limp Bizkit show. The reasons why these bands are up there is because they've did their time and have earned it. They have what people want and they can deliver it. I don't see Spiritbox ready to headline Lolla. Bring Me The Horizon is just starting to earn a spot like that with like 9 records. Limp Bizkit did Woodstock by their second album, Korn was on their 3rd. It's up to the bands to make music that people like, it's not up to you to decide what people like. Sorry, big fan, but not sorry for disagreeing with your take on "nostalgia" vs. earning your spot as top dog by grinding.
Limp bizkit needs to be added to the line up 100%
Thank you for shouting out Evanescence! I agree about their last album! It’s 10/10 worth the wait for us fans 😭 seems he isn’t up to date with any bands 😂 people who don’t listen to rock/metal always ask me when I wear my evanescence shirts: they’re still around? 😑😂 it’s a bunch of 30 year olds too lol
Do a video where you out together your own 2023 modern rock/metal festival with all up and comers or newer bands. Who'd headline? Spiritbox and Lorna Shore?
I love how randomly there’s 100 gecs and death grips
Youre being a little rough. I turned 21 during 2020 lockdowns and this is the music i grew up with. All these bands speak to me.
Right. It's some old hardcore dude that complains about everything except some average hardcore punk & emo bands.
I saw Chevelle in 2019... because my dad loves them and it'll always be a great memory. These bands bring people great memories. Rock/metal fans know the state of our genres but do we have to stop caring/ being excited for memory inducing events?
Chevelle's in my top 3 favourite bands and they still make great music that doesn't sound close to nu metal.
@@davidf7485 I've always heard TOOL influences in Chevelle but that's tye closest to Nu-metal that I'd consider it. It's just good rock and rock from the 2000s. They've maintained a great sound without following trends over the past 20+ years!
"do we have to stop caring/ being excited for memory inducing events?" Well said.
Chevelle puts on a great show, they’re definitely not washed, just not as mainstream (not that they really were)
I saw Chevelle with breaking benjamin and three days grace in dallas. Shit was lit
100 gecs’s live performances are very nu-metal. Almost every song is remixed to be a lot heavier, and it was so cool to see live!!
Yep! Exactly! It is way, way heavier live with tons of fun elements thrown in.
Also, it wouldn't be out of the norm for them to do a completely special set of heavy songs not on their albums/EPs.
So excited to see them & death grips with my boyfriend who loves hyper pop lol
i saw them live with brockhampton in 2019 and it was right before money machine blew up on tik tok. they put on a really great set and the crowd didnt super get into it but they are great musicians
Ty for the insight.
I hate their recordings, but hope to give their live show a go next year.
Being of the older generation, I’m all about seeing Ministry, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Killing Joke and Melvins. Plus to see them all in one weekend (I’m pretty sure this isn’t happening in one day as it is shown) is awesome! But, I do agree, there needs to be more new (not nü) acts on the bill.
I’m only a millennial, but I’m right there with you. So awesome to see all of them and Thrill Kill Kult on there. Big fan of industrial music.
Saw Skinny Puppy live, met Nivek Ogre at a horror convention, coolest down to earth guy, drew some art for him and he displayed it the whole show at his booth. Also the coolest show I have ever been too, definitely would be worth seeing again. Up for the others mentioned, and Mr. Bungle assuming Mike Patton is heading vocals
@@jollyrot3145 yeah, it’s the Bungle lineup with Dave Lombardo and Scott Ian. Totally worth checking out, because I don’t think they’re doing any extensive touring.
@@jollyrot3145 yeah, it’s the Bungle lineup with Dave Lombardo and Scott Ian. Totally worth checking out, because I don’t think they’re doing any extensive touring.
AAF is auch an underrated band. Mostly cause they majority of people only know the Michael Jackson remix. Their entire first album was amazing.
Agreed dude, 'Anthology' was a great listen! Their first independent LP 'Greatest Hits' was top tier too, and surprisingly heavy.
@@dugp1862 Album of the year on California or something. That shit was fantastic.
Yeah that band was super good!!
Even AFTER 17 years of SOAD not releasing music , they are HEAVILY beloved by the metal community and their music is SO amazing and superior live that we are starving to see them perform live and tour!
08:50 KMFDM was also a huge fixture in 80s industrial, they just took off in the early 1990s when they added Gunter Schultz as a guitar player. I saw them in 1995 and they changed my whole perspective on music (set me down the electronic path). They are one of the *few* bands on that line-up I would travel for. Korn is the only top-tier band I’d go see. I could care less about Incubus…they’re a “time capsule” band.
Kmfdm are way under appreciated in terms of their overall influence of industrial metal. Amazing band, very unique but also very much a product of their time, in my opinion. Incubus always seemed to have success due to girls being into Brandon Boyd, rather than their actual tunes.
@@revivedfears Exactly. They were the nu metal equivalent of a glam band. “Drive” being the perfect example.
Wow, Stabbing Westward is a name I haven't heard in absolute years. Save Yourself still goes hard!
They have been back since 2016! They released a couple EPs, as well as a great album earlier this year.
@@damnitboy9635 Nice thank you, I had no idea. I’ll have to check out the new album. My friend loved Darkest Days and I always liked their singles
@Adamack Beats No problem! To be fair, they've kinda flown under the radar since reforming, playing small tours and releasing music through smaller labels.

Not sure why you're dogging on this festival because it's almost everything the Nu Metal fans wanted. The addition of Limp Bizkit would make it absolutely perfect!
Its because its not underground, unheard of trash ass sounding hardcore/punk rock bands....love finn but hes literally trying TOO hard to reach for something. Like we get it, you dont like nu metal. NO THANK YOU
I'm 20, and I grew up on SOAD, Korn, Flyleaf, Papa Roach, Evanescence, all that good stuff. I can't wait to go to Sick New World and see all the bands I've loved my whole life live. It will also be great to see some more "modern" acts I enjoy, like Death Grips. I like this festival because yes it appeals to nostalgia lovers like me, but also has some newer stuff to show the evolution of the genre.
I'm all about the nostalgia and I'm all about new music, best of both worlds.
I actually want to see Spiritbox the most after System of a Down. When you said the people who are now in their 30's discovered this music in 6th or 7th grade it hit the nail on the head. I just turned 30 and started listening to System in 6th grade lol.
To be honest, I'm 35, so quite a few of these bands are longtime favorites of mine who I've seen before, but I think it's cool to be able to see them all at one place. Plus I'd be really excited to see newer bands like Spiritbox, Health, and Turnstile, but maybe I'm in the minority with that for my age. I think there's room for both new and old. You pretty much have to include the older bands mixed in with the newer, because I've noticed that most people won't go out of their way to discover new music, or go to see shows with only the smaller, lesser-known bands playing. I read somewhere that most people pretty much stop looking for new music to get into by 30 years old or so. But anyway, I also like the industrial rock bands on the bill like The Birthday Massacre, Orgy and Stabbing Westward (who just put out a really good new album earlier this year).
Yeah 30 was about the age when I stopped looking for new music. It's almost like your brain gets filled up with all the bands and you're just kinda good with what you know by 30. I still love hearing new bands I like by accident, I just don't care to go looking for it anymore. The problem with this post internet age is that it's way harder to accidentally hear something good. I'm rarely exposed to any new music if I'm not looking.
One of the best festivals I’ve ever seen in my life! I hope you made it. One of those experiences where you had to be there. 🤘🏾
the prices are insane too.
Interestingly, about a 1/3rd of these bands are industrial bands (KMFDM, Ministry, Sisters of Mercy, Skinny Puppy, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Stabbing Westward) or Industrial adjacent (Orgy, Filter, HEALTH, London After Midnight, The Birthday Massacre). Several of the newer bands definitely have some amount of industrial influences (Death Grips, Spiritbox).
Personally I would be surprised if we didn't Courtney make at least one guest appearance on someone else's stage (deftones/korn maybe?).
I think it's also important to realize that not every festival is trying to replace Warped Tour. They don't all have to present nothing but new bands, and the bands that have been around long enough for it to be their full time job "know where their bread is buttered."
If we’re lucky, we’ll see a metalcore version of this festival
Give it about ten years till you age into that bracket, if the world hasn't fallen apart by then.
Wasn't when we young fest practically that? or are you talking 2000's metalcore
Furnace Fest.
I flew all the way out to Vegas from Minnesota for this festival, and it was the coolest thing I've ever done in my life.
All the bands still got it, and sounded great. System of a Down was the best live band I've ever seen and the setting made it absolutely epic.
Spiritbox somehow fits in this lineup perfectly despite not being from that era
Due to rock and metal not being in the mainstream in the late 2000’s and all through the 2010’s, getting into rock music through exposure of a new artist wasn’t an option so those older bands are where a lot of us kids had to start that’s why they still headline
I didn’t see you saying the wwwy festival should have more new bands on it. This is a nostalgia concert with all our old favorites in one place. Any newer artist should be glad to get the exposure.
Exactly
I'm pretty sure he did just call it nostalgia bait and wished they had festivals with newer rock bands
@@ergoth154 he’s being such a hater boomer as of late. LA had the Substance indie festival a few weeks ago. 3 days of post punk, new wave, indie, dark tech, industrial, ebm. Yet he obviously didn’t cover it at all, a bunch of new and coming bands were in that fest. He’s just being lazy with his re search.
@@ergoth154 and im ngl im offended he is being so harsh to nu metal and industrial goth bands in this fest. I turned 21 during lock downs and before that have never been to any major concerts or shows. So naturally this festival really is something a lot of people my age want to attend im 23 now.
What’s awesome about this is that it’s also a bit of an Industrial festival. To have Skinny Puppy, Ministry, KMFDM, Thrill Kill Kult, Orgy, Death Grips, and Ho99o9 there is excellent. You have some of the second wave of industrial. Then Orgy is a bit of a crossover with nu-metal. And then Death Grips and Ho99o9 are what I would say are some of the quintessential artists that incorporate industrial into hip hop.
True. And Ville Valo, The 69 Eyes and Lacuna Coil will also bring the dark rock / gothic fans. in. With that said, it's surprising that Within Temptation aren't participating, they were pretty huge in the mid-00s and were a crucial factor in bringing gothic to the mainstream.
@@torstenscholz6243 And placebo, moloko will wind up the macho nu metal crowd im sure, doing something like dedicating "nancy boy" to Jonathan davis etc.
I'd go just to see Sisters Of Mercy perform 1980s songs.
And Killing Joke!
Scowl are also quite good!
Me too. They got some goth goodies on there
Nostalgia is huge for people who were born the 70s, 80s. Why else would 80s music still be so popular? And whether you agree or not, a lot of today's music just doesn't stick like it used to. Probably because we have other things fighting for the same attention. Personally I love discovering new bands. On the daily I'm looking for something new. And as a musician who writes original music I clearly am with you regarding new music. But if I'm a promoter, putting millions of own dollars into an event of this size I'm going with nostalgia. But that's just me. I still would like to see new music get more attention but I feel that may never be what it used to be.
80s music is all around fantastic, it's not just nostalgia. Kids today love it too.
But you point out the problem of new artists not getting any shine. Producers only want to make money and they know they'll make it if the put out big popular bands for people that are now settling in life and will have some extra cash to relive the days when they could have sex without boner pills. And as consumers, we won't pay $300+ to see artists we know nothing about. It's not that new music sucks, a lot of it a very good. It's just the confort zone for our brains, what we know will release our brain chemicals to feel enjoyment. Most people driving home after a long day at work aren't going to put on new music they have to pay attention to to enjoy, they're going to put something they already know helps them unwind and decompress.
@@thenumberonebeaner2211 all excellent points. For most people the music we got into as kids is what we tend to stick to the rest of our lives. You're absolutely right that most people don't have the time or energy to take in new music and artists. I still love to listen to albums and music on headphones, start to finish uninterrupted like I did as a kid. People just don't do that anymore.
The other problem is that rock simply isn't the cultural flagship that it used to be. This is not to say that newer and younger bands aren't forming and putting out music. It's just a different time than the 70's and 80's. I live in Los Angeles, which was one of the most important cities in the world for all kinds of rock. Now go out driving on the roads and you rarely hear any kind of rock coming out of someone's speakers.
@@thenumberonebeaner2211 EXACTLY this man thinks it HAS TO BE nostalgia. Im 23 and love so many pre 90’s music
@@Ben-nx7yy I don't think it has to be nostalgia but as we get older we tend to look back at our younger years more fondly and will spend time and money on it. So to that point yes nostalgia sells tickets. Never said that is the only thing though.
Nobody is stopping the "newer" acts to have their own festival and, if anything, getting eyes on these bands at a festival like this is good. Post-pandemic, it's good that these older bands get to perform at a festival like this. If there's a market for it why not give people work?
I never had a chance to see a chunk these bands when I was younger, so this is a perfect opportunity for me to finally do so now.
THIS LINEUP IS THE BOMB 💣

this is Woodstock for nu-metal/hard rock... I live in Vegas and they charge over $100 to see 2 or 3 bands at a time, and the past 20 years has been super corporate festivals with weak lineups or no-name lineups... THIS IS AMAZING, especially right now when people cant afford to see all these bands which may not be performing forever... I AM STOKED but i havent seen the ticket prices yet, so hopefully not too crazy (its outside, so should be more reasonable than an inside festival.
I'd totally go just for Turnstile and Loathe! 🤩
And for Mr Bungle of course. 😍 (I hope this really means Mike Patton will be performing live again. And he will make it over to the European festivals.)
Mr Bungle will probably just be playing death metal 😆 ... I love em so much, that would totally be them to only play Wrath Of The Easter Bunny stuff.
Yes, but why attend a $200 festival to see Turnstile from 150 yards away when you can spend $18 to see them up close in your local mid-sized venue?
@@doobiousd5020 Sure. I'm not flying to Vegas anyway. I hope to see them in Europe. Preferably in a small venue in my hometown. At a big festival in Europe is more likely, though, if at all, I am afraid.
Kinda surprised Mr Bungle agreed to be part of this, considering that in the past they often talked shit on nu metal and hated that they were considered an influence.
Same here. Mike Patton was very vocal on his stance on nu metal and rejected the idea that people referred to him as the God Father of nu metal.
Papa Roach and P.O.D. were two of my favorite bands in 6th and 7th grade, and I still listen to them!! :)
How tf is Lacuna Coil so low. They’re still putting out new music and are still relevant. I’d go for them and Spiritbox
I’m wondering the same thing! I am planning on going and they are the two I am mostly going for
It's truly a shame that more people don't know about The Birthday Massacre. Saw them in San Antonio back in Dec 2011.
The singer spent like an hour behind the building after the show just talking to fans.
She talked to my brother and I for like half an hour.
Also, why the KMFDM shade? They never stop putting out albums. Hell, their newest stuff has some really good stuff on it.
WWIII (2003) turns 20 this year. And it holds up, hell, their late 80s stuff still holds up.
I can't believe My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult are still a thing
I'm 18 and I think this festival sounds incredible. I don't think it's so much that Nu Metal is for "boomers" as it is that you just don't get what makes a lot of the bands in this genre (SOAD and Deftones especially) great. There is a reason people talk about them and love them today. You don't have to like them, of course, but plenty of people would go because they love these bands now. Not because they loved them in the past.
Poor GenX, always getting called Boomers.
Who ever said that it was for "boomers"
I've never heard that before lol
Boomers don’t listen to nu metal they listen to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd
@@bonewerm8386 Millenials*

That Ministry clip was rough to sit through, and I wish I didn't know that.
You think you're appealing to younger viewers by trashing on old school bands when in fact the kids of today vicariously get a sense of nostalgia from these dad rock bands
Nope. My audience is dudes in their 30s and they hate it when I say this kind of thing
Way I see it, this is just as the When We Were Young fest. Yes we should definitely give attention to new bands, but this festival has new bands in it. People love this music, it's not just because of nostalgia, it might be because they just like the music, is that so bad?
Here’s the thing. What new rock bands that have been together for less than 5 years are legitimately headlining and selling out stadiums (not as a support band but as a headliner)? Literally most of these “old” bands were doing just that when they were “new” and “relevant”. Hell, even Papa Roach were headlining stadium tours on their debut album cycle. That’s why so many people still care.
This def speaks to my Industrial side, I saw She Wants Revenge this past weekend in DC, Ministry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Skinny Puppy, Sisters of Mercy, KMFDM and Orgy?!?! those bands alone would be worth it to me. Bonus 100 Gecs! I hope they have an 'industrial' side stage so I can just hang out there (though I may still walk over for Korn and/or Mr. Bungle). This is, of course, coming from a 47yo who has no problem dropping $5k on a weeks vacation every year, just wish it was somewhere besides Las Vegas. Cheers!
I didn't even know that She Wants Revenge were back together.
As someone who loves Nu-Metal, this is a wet dream
While everyone was geeking out over WWWY I was secretly hoping for something like this. This is actually the music I grew up on and still listen to today. I’m 32. I was lucky enough to get a ticket to this one.
After looking at footage of this fest me I'm so thankful I said no to nu metal and hot topic mall goth when it was offered to me as a teen, be thankful for bands like Cannibal Corpse who aren't confined to the passing trends of an era while maintaining their intense vital energy and ability to whip a crowd up while still putting out good albums. This may be one of the most hilariously pathetic fests I've ever seen, it was fascinating to watch and a brutal retribution of time on commercial bands playing to a fanbase that you can't believe actually enjoys music on any level. The apathetic, plump and rotund low energy crowd very concerned with playing with their phone while half heartedly singing the chorus to every bands "you know, that song", the horribly aged and low energy bands hocking their 2 riffs and Fred Durst/Trent Reznor impressions with "get out of my room dad" lyrics while limping out of breath across the stage evokes diabolical laughter at the passing of nu metal and mall goth into the grave of nostalgia acts. What a truly awful rotten time that was to be a young person (kids getting into metal and hardcore these days have the world served to them on a platter), the worst era of music, still thankful for bands not breaking and bowing to the trends and persevering. I can't say that about the pathetic Cavalera who want it both ways but can't maintain respect in either camps. Rest in piss nu metal, now fuck off.
I honestly would be pretty excited to see Loathe, Spiritbox, and Turnstile. I found all three of these artists in the past year or two and really enjoy them. Plus I love SOAD and POD, and would be happy to see a couple others. I may go, also considering I've never been to Vegas before.
Last 2 names at the end of the list are amazing too... Narrow Head in particular is AMAZING
I just got my ticket. I've never seen SOAD and it's on my bucket list. I've also never been to Vegas. Hopefully now that the ticket is secured I can save up for the hotel and flight!
@@brandi6087 Same!
You can see all three of those in modern day shows for like $20-40 lol, and not hundreds of dollars.
@@jynxycats but not on the same bill, not in Vegas, and not with all these other large acts who will bring in lots of fans for a fun experience.
The few times I went to Rock on the Range in Ohio I had seen a lot of those artists already, but in a big crowd the energy is different. I've seen bands where the crowd goes outright nuts at a festival, but then in a small-capacity venue people were barely banging heads. It's all about the experience you want.
There's a surprising amount of Goth artists in the festival. I'm intrigued.
Well damn. I assume 100 Gecs was invited so someone could play One Step Closer at this festival. I'd love to see them and Death Grips at one show, that sounds awesome. I'd be terrified that DG weren't going to actually show up tho. I also had no idea She Wants Revenge was still a band, I still spin their self-titled. I've seen System a couple times, don't really need to again, last time Deftones was with them, meh. Actually saw Papa Roach at Big Day Off when they and Disturbed and Linkin Park were small and Slipknot was headlining. Lacuna Coil I never had heard till seeing at some Ozzfest, they were fine and fun. Saw Chevelle with Disturbed, snore. Hearing those songs from Incubus or Flyleaf or P.O.D. or Hoobastank or Alien Ant Farm live for the FIRST time in 2023 would be FUCKING HILARIOUS, full stop. I am scared to even know what Incubus might look like now, I'm still picturing a hot 20-something when I listen to those old singles. Cradle of Filth fucking sucks. My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult and Ministry is stuff my mom was listening to before I was born. SOAD might ensure she actually goes to this show. Melvins always looks out of place to me being in any lineup with normal bands--and WTF, Mr. Bungle is a thing still? Would I pay hundreds to see an aged Mike Patton rap about having sex with food? If I had it, maybe.
As far as I can tell, there are plenty of festivals happening with newer bands, they just happen to be in the underground, and even those fests need to have "nostalgia" acts on the bill to be the main draw. I don't see a problem with it.
I can smell this festival already.
Oh boy
Korn looks crusty but deftones looks very clean and well kept
@@hostofsoulslol but korn always looked crusty tbh.
@@ArkaeaFCL3 yes. And they still do. Doritos band
Is that BO or Shitty weed I smell?
Korn should be headlining they put nu metal on the map and they still put out great albums
Incubus played the Ryman Auditorium the day before Thanksgiving in 19 and absolutely killed it. I was hesitant since that's such a chill venue but they did the damn thing. I'm going to Sick New World for sure
Time to bring back Warped Tour and Mayhem Fest. Those lineups were 80% new bands 15% bands around 10 years old and 5% Legend/Nostolgia bands. Plus, I'm a 25-year-old boomer and I prefer to see an entire festival in one day lol
I'm really psyched about Flyleaf. I don't think I can make it to see them live for the first time, but I can't wait to see the videos of Lacey and the back getting back together.
Superheaven and Narrow Head are newish bands except they both sound more like 90s alt rock like grunge/shoegaze.
Holy shit! This festival needs to come to the UK. I would buy tickets just to see The Sisters of Mercy and Ville Valo and get a ton of other incredible bands thrown in!
Yea some of these don't fit the Nu Metal genre but that's ok. I think this line up looks cool but you are right, I didn't know these bands were still playing together so it would be interesting to see if they still got it. Papa Roach still tours and they always put on a good show.
Where's Adema, (Hed) P.E, LeVeL, Methods Of Mayhem, Stepa, and Kid Rock???
It's only missing Slipknot and Limp bizkit to be PERFECT
And Godsmack.
I definitely think there's something to be said about generations on Americans going to Vegas as adult Disney land to relieve acts of their youth who now have permanent Vegas shows, it was Sinatra way back, Cher and Elton John for our parents nostalgia and now Rock kids from the 90's on have been given their "Vegas/County Fair" day in the sun
Melvin’s is still killing it with their live shows. Seen them multiple times the past few years. And Scowl is great hardcore and punk.
What's next in this series of festivals? They'll run out eventually right?
“Banish the bad vibes” is the most aunt thing I have ever heard
The dog medicine analogy was hilarious
3:34 Yup Lacey Sturm left Flyleaf back in October 2012, Kristen May replacing her on lead vocals. Then there was Kristen May's departure and hiatus of Flyleaf (2016-2022). This year (2022) Lacey Sturm has returned to Flyleaf. The band's profile pictures on their social media accounts would later change and renamed as Flyleaf With Lacey Sturm on November 7, 2022. Hope this helps clear things up.
Lacuna Coil, KMFDM, Ministry, Mr. Bungle, not to mention seeing Skinny Puppy, Korn, and Cradle of Filth again 😍 I’m kind of a fogie now and don’t go to festivals but this would be the exception 😳
It's an interesting lineup... Sisters Of Mercy, London After Midnight, 69 Eyes are all Gothic Rock bands; and KMFDM, Stabbing Westward, Filter, Skinny Puppy,My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult are all industrial/industrial rock bands that nearly any goth knows and listens to; and Killing Joke, Cradle Of Filth and Lacuna Coil and Ville Vallo are all goth adjacent bands that again, nearly any goth would listen to. Almost like two festivals in one... a gothic and a nu metal one
I said the same thing about "when we were young" and I'll say it again.. there are lots of festivals for new bands/artists as well. There's stuff for everyone. Why do we have to be so judgemental?? Let the people have fun! No one is being forced to go.
There aren’t really festivals for new bands though
Turnstile is a 'new' band and they're on the third line, that's pretty good
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA sound and fury
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA Maybe not in the US, but there are all kinds of fests in europe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Euro fests headlined by Scorpions and Kiss?
I guess they managed to smuggle a goth/industrial festival inside a nu metal festival. Ministry (I even like Uncle Al's new stuff. Fite me.), Sisters of Mercy (who are REALLY high on the billing, somehow?), Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Thrill Kill and even London After Midnight? If I wasn't crippled and broke I would actually consider attending something like this. Though, I wonder how they got Sisters of Mercy and London After Midnight but didn't manage to pick up Rosetta Stone. I think Christian Death is still active and touring, also. I'm definitely not a huge nu metal fan, but I'd absolutely stick around for that sort of lineup. SOAD's not bad, though. I can dig SOAD. And definitely Body Count. Love me some Body Count.
Big W for nu metal fans ❤✨
My god this line up is insane. Ville Valo, Placebo, Cradle of Filth, Body Count, Deftones. God damn that's all over the place.
Between this and the possibility of an Eagles vs. Bills Super Bowl. 2023 looks poised to be a big year for fan on fan violence
The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised.
How dare you call Chevelle washed up. They’re one of the only bands on this lineup that has consistently put out solid records.
I loved this line up. Is it nostalgia? Yea, maybe. But life is short and we will be gone tomorrow. Enjoy it. This might be the last drop of your youth. At this point is more of a celebration.
Having said that, its true what you said about the state of rock music in general. Where are the new bands? Maybe they should make a festival of only young bands “when we are young “ festival or something like that. Royal blood, the warning etc…does anybody knows new bands to check out?
This era was when growth was ok for metal. Soon after, experimental metal groups were shunned and a throwback to older metal happened. While it was a throwback to more of a traditional metal feel, it made everything new seem stagnant.
The way u feel about nu metal is the exact way I feel about all the emo….. to each there own I guess….. but I literally felt the exact same way about when we were young fest as u do about this festival
If they called it Sick Nu World, Deftones would pull out
I'm there for mainly Death Grips, KMFDM, Killing Joke, Skinny Puppy, Ministry and Sister of Mercy. Everything else are bands that I never got to see in high school, does it hit the nostalgia bone? Yes, but I ain't mad at it. I'm at a point in my life where I can go back and listen to some of that stuff and not feel embarrassed. Dont really give a *&^# anymore.
Since you’re into the industrial stuff, you’ll probably like Health
@@iamobeliskquake thanks! I'm always interested in industrial bands that I haven't heard yet.
"When we were Butt Rock" would have the highest concentration of tribal tatts and Jeep Wranglers since 2004.
