Hi Jessica! I'm a Malabon resident since birth. For the sumpia mystery, it's basically what we call a fried lumpia. So, others who're not from Malabon may be confused about it. 😭🤣 My favorite in Jazz pansitan is their shanghai and their pansit sotanghon~ You must definitely come back here in Malabon because we have a variety of food you must have not tasted yet! You should try our "turon" which is not the turon everyone knows that has a banana filling. Our turon is filled with monggo. Our banana turon is called valencia. 😄 You should also definitely try our special okoys with lots of shrimps! Please also visit and taste Mama Ena's cooking! Their kare-kare is one of a kind 🤤 Hope you come back here!! I'm your fan!!
She also need to try Dolor's Kakanin and that one the sumpia. It's not fried that's what we called lumpiang sariwa. Jessica need to comeback here to discover more foods here. 😁
Isn't sumpia almost exactly like lumpiang togue? It's funny how many people who cook food for a living don't even know what the ingredients are. One time, I had to explain (and prove) to a seasoned cook that balut isn't a chicken egg, but a duck egg.
Feeling ko yung ginagamitan ng egg wrapper is yung “Lumpiang Sariwa”, filled with vegetables! There’s also a lot of places where you can get sumpia in Malabon, mostly sa Lugawan because it pairs perfectly with lugaw 😊 when you come back, definitely try the markets, maraming desserts and fried seafood dishes you can try
nakaka happy talaga pag napapanood ko si jessica whether paborito trabaho travel or just routine nakakawala ng anxiety she is like your daughter your sister your makulit na apo stubborn girlfriend and close friend na you want her to explore funny in so unconventional and unexpected way sa mga hirit nya, you like her not because she is so pretty obviously but you love her because she has a knack of being whatever she wants, she is an addiction a happy pill and my lodi ❤❤❤
Glad you were able to try some of the Malabon OGs. Hopefully you can comeback to Malabon next time. There are plenty of food you still need to try. Sapin-sapin from Dolor’s, Yema Palitaw from Josephines, Kaldereta ni Aling Mely, Tapang Kabayo from General’s Place. See you in Malabon next time! Will tour you. Haha
Malabon they say is full of surprise when it comes to food from dolors kakanin, local kikiam, malabon okoy,Valencia triangulo, nanay mely's mechado and tortang pusit and lots more there are many you missed in your food tour in malabon ...maybe a part two
@ agree! There should be part 2! I have forgotten the kikiam, okoy, tinapa, and relyenong bangus in Concepcion, Malabon. And oh, puto pao, pichi pichi, and valencia also! There are plenty of places you can get that in the area
This made me laugh so much! The way this video was edited, I laughed alot althroughout. I love this! Also, i noticed your energy in this video is really high, almost giddy like. i think it's because you enjoyed Malabon so much! it didnt feel u were tired by the end of the video hahaha
19:21 HAHAHAHA CUTIE JESSICAAAA 😂 I Love this ep so much and I feel like Jessica is so energetic in this one? Also... im from Navotas and I love Pansit Malabon so much! Thanks to this episode i got to know about the good place to get one. The one I used to go to doesn't taste the same anymore😢
Ms. Jessica, you should have tried these other OGs of Malabon... BEST CARINDERIA is Aling Mely's --- every viand is an EXPERIENCE (it's very famous). You should also try the Tapa there because it is not made of beef but a horse... you should also try the Dolor's Kakanin for the OG sapin-sapin & Rellonong Bangus, Arny & Dading's pitsi-pitsi (coconut or cheese toppings), Rody Day's another OG resto-carinderia, the Valencia (it's like turon but in Malabon we call it Valencia. It has saba, langka, and pinipig rice cake inside), you can also try the Quekiam of Malabon (made with singkamas), the Bagoong there is so masarap, the dirty ice cream are legit made of fruits, the puto pao from Hazel's Puto, the Kare-kare of Malabon is ONE OF THE BEST if not the best (you can try it every Saturday only from General's Place), We have so many delicacies and great food in Malabon... I just got a bit sad that you weren't able to get the RIGHT ANSWERS from the people you interviewed. Perhaps those people weren't a legitimate Malabonian... don't miss out the OG OKOY there from Conception Market.. oldest bakery in Malabon have its unique Pianonos, Broas, etc. The sumpia - it's not really a toge as it is very common and ordinary... in OG Sumpia, our great grand parents make it from UBOD --- it's similar to FRESH LUMPIA or what we call Lumpiang Hubad - the sumpia is the fried version of it. I think that is the reason why older generations call them as SUMPIA to make differentiation from its FRESH LUMPIA or LUMPIANG HUBAD. Additional trivia: Tinapa in Malabon uses the best kind of wood to smoke them - that's why its taste is so one of a kind and doesn't taste charcoaled old wood. It's a fresh smokey type... we also got some longganisa de pugon there... SEE! We have a lot of unique foods and flavors there... SAYANG! I wish you can give it a try again... but this time, try to search the OG places, they are actually near to each other. You should go to Conception, every good food is in that area... THANK YOU for featuring our heritage. Last trivia: we have the BEST and PURO patis (fish sauce) - it is not similar to the commercialized ones that is just made with flavorings... :) Hope this warrants another visit?
OMGGG THE SUMPIA PART WAS SO CHAOTIC!!! AHHAHAH it's true that there are different types of sumpia and they sell it in different places as well. the one that you had is a fried sumpia with togue inside. the other one is a sumpiang sariwa that is filled with vegetables, it is really good that's my family's favorite as well. tho, the sauce HAS PEANUT so it would be really sad that you would still not able to try it becuase of your allergies. together with the sauce it is a chef kiss, really does taste good and also supeeeeerrr healthy! I HOPE YOU COME TO NAVOTAS AS WELL~~~ edit: the sumpia is sold inside the market behind the city hall, it is being sold most of the time in daytime and also for meryenda. there are different types of kakanin as well that you can try from those stores!
love malabon. I live like 10 mins away. You should've went to the market early in the morning. Actually Malabon is one of those places that is way more active before the sun rises up. The fish market is so active, so many places to eat. Also I'm surprised you didnt get to eat more kakanin, which Malabon is famous for.
Jessica sayang di kita nakita 😭 I also from Malabon and super lapit ko po dyan. Fan mo na po ako since 2020. I'm so happy that you finally explore Malabon. You should try other famous foods here like Dolor's Kakanin they didn't recommend that it's also super famous and alos "Okoy" the lumpia that you ate is the fried lumpia. That's not the lumpia that kuya guard told you. I think that's lumpiang sariwa. So you really need to go back here. 😁
I'm excited that you're exploring places that aren’t always top of mind. I don’t think I’ve ever been to Malabon. The food options featured in this episode look visually appetizing, and I’m curious about how they taste. I’ll make sure to visit Malabon one of these days!
Jessicaaaa I’m still waiting for you to go to Mendiola!! U-belt food is so good. You can ask Bedans & Escolarians for food recos. Like around first strip. There’s alot of students you can ask around there, so hindi ka mahihirapan sa interviews and I think you’ll like it. ❤️

Hi Jessica nice vlog, learned some good food places in Malabon. Keep learning the Filipino language. Enriched your Filipino Vocabs too. I know your foundation was in Bacolod ...they speak Cebuano and Visayan there. Please keep it up your doing well.
You should try the rock shrimp in Florida when you’re back in the States. I’m in Orlando, Florida, I would come and see you; but I can’t travel right now. I watch all the time, I’m a fan.
SUMPIA = Suka Lumpia Because you dip it in the vinegar (suka) to eat. Its just a plain Lumpiang Togue, in Malabon they call it Sumpia or Turong Suka. Jessica youre lucky because they didnt call it Turong Suka to add for the confusion. I guessed the Sumpia Case is Solved.
Interesting na may different term siya within Metro Manila kasi dito sa may Quezon City/Caloocan tawag lang doon eh lumpiang toge/lumpiang gulay hehe...nakakalito yung "sukang lumpia" kasi many would think most lumpia can have suka as a dipping sauce (other than sweet chili) hehe.
I really enjoy watching your vlogs while I have my lunch or dinner. They make my mealtime so much more enjoyable. Your content is always fun and entertaining. Please don’t stop creating this type of vlog. I’m always looking forward to your next one! xoxo
I got relocated for my work and meron kaming food stall dito sa Makati na laging binibilhan ng ulam. I got addicted sa kanilang Sisig and Fried Togue. That Fried Togue looks exactly like ang Sumpia!!!! I can eat 5 of those! Hahahaha!
For our family, the real pansit malabon must have tinapa, squid shrimp some crackling and egg. Not necessarily with pork. The sauce must be seafood based. Yum.
Visit Ninong Ry soon At Malabon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ipapasyal ka sa more best Spots pa in Malabon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try different types of Pancit in Cagayan Province mainly in Tuguegarao like Pancit Batil Patong and Pancit Cabagan for your next Paborito Series episode
SUMPIA is fried cook with sangkap of togue with egg wrapper unlike LUMPIA is fresh with egg wrapper with sangkap of ubod and vegetables.
Iba ka talaga Jessica, very unique❤❤
my home town I missed it so much!!! pero actually I never got to go around there. ty for the tour I'll definitely go pag balik ko ng pinas!!!! im in canada rn
So cute talaga Ikaw idol Jessica ❤
I'm still curious with the sumpia that uses egg instead of the wrapper, just like how it's described by one interviewee
Lumpiang Sariwa tapos Egg Wrapper imbis na Lumpia Wrapper
Lumpiang Ubod but with Egg Wrapper instead of Lumpia Wrapper
I'm salivating 🤤 while watching you eat. It's making me so hungry! 🍽 Thank you for this episode.
Hi Jessica nice vlog, learned some good food places in Malabon. Keep learning the Filipino language. Enriched your Filipino Vocabs too. I know your foundation was in Bacolod ...they speak Cebuano and Visayan there. Please keep it up your doing well.
As a Malabonian I'm so happy you already tried other delicacies that we have , im always watching your vlog po 💙💙💙
Ms Jessica you are so cute to promote the food of malabon....Im watching your vlog here in bacolod city.😋😋😋😋
jessica screaming for sumpia got me weak😭
You should try the rock shrimp in Florida when you’re back in the States. I’m in Orlando, Florida, I would come and see you; but I can’t travel right now. I watch all the time, I’m a fan.
suggestion for next Trabaho series (if it's allowed): security guard or traffic enforcer 😊
Omg you’re so lucky Jessica I missed Malabon watching you from 🇺🇸 enjoy your time
Jessssicaaa! Davao City nextttt ✨✨✨✨✨
Collab with Ninong Ry please. Luto kayo ng fave mong sinigang and sisig tapos BOH episode ❤😊
SUMPIA = Suka Lumpia
Because you dip it in the vinegar (suka) to eat.
Hahahaha!
Thank you for visiting my hometown, Malabon City! 💖😊
So happy to see you visiting our place❤
I hope next Palabok supremacy 😁🥰🥰
Sangkap = Main ingredients. The base elements of the dish.
Sahog = Secondary ingredients. Like toppings or spices.

For our family, the real pansit malabon must have tinapa, squid shrimp some crackling and egg. Not necessarily with pork. The sauce must be seafood based. Yum.
