The biggest mistake I made early on was not subscribing to the CoderDave TH-cam channel! 😀

    Great video Davide! Love this!
Absolutely agree with what you said in the last part: DevOps is all about people, process and technology. Indeed a lot of people don't focus on cultural change but instead just on tools, and often I see some customers claim themselves have implemented "DevOps" with just a bunch of tools, but teams are still very siloed, IT agility was not improved :(
Another tip I could share is to always look at the IaC execution plan before running the apply command. I still remember I had a customer who blindly apply Terraform scripts without looking at the execution plan to see what will be changed, and then the customer accidentally deleted an AKS production cluster because Terraform thought there was an AKS config change requires cluster recreation, but unfortunately no one had looked into the execution plan.

Thanks Peter. And great point on the IaC execution plan, that is definitely something people should be looking at!

I will always advise, it is important to understand the fundamentals of DevOps processes and the impact these processes bring to the business. Secondly, try not to isolate yourself and build on your communication skills. This has really helped in my journey as a DevOps Engineer.
