    Great video and I find that using the auto pilot works wonderfully when trying to land in heavy winds on an oil rig

    Only part way through the video, but clear that you are a great coach and tutor, so already subscribed to the channel. Thanks so much for taking the time as for me, I'm new to H160 without having the H145, so lots to learn! Cheers

    Great video, thank you. I found the ground speed hold directional stability during a strong crosswind to be dodgy to the point of unuseable. I also found that re-engaging radar height hold like yours to want to reset to a previously stored value in memory. Still, super impressive coding considering how expensive real world helicopter autopilot software costs and the complexity of calculations required. Good FPS too. Very glad I bought the H160. Next stop, following a flight plan.

    Very informative video. Thanks. Have you got a tutorial on how to map all these functions to a virpil constellation alpha grip with or similar. Also is there a way to map the mouse cursor to an 8 way hat switch. So you can use all this in VR.

    Thank you very much for the tutorial, I really liked it. Is it possible that you could give us some advice about the Joysticks you use?

    Good video, thank you. Does the real chopper have that iPad for controlling automatic pilot or is there another way? Cheers

    • @theflyingdoctor
      @theflyingdoctor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No - the ipad is to enable all pc users to use the AP. The AP controls are on the centre console, and managed through buttons on the cyclic and the collective. However, you can model all of these controls, or many of them, to your own sick and throttle system. I am not sure about the H160 but pilots flying with reference to tablets for navigation etc is very common.

      @@theflyingdoctor Thank you for the reply , any chance on a future tutorial setting up the peripherals and Simulating AP as in RL flight? Cheers.

      @@theflyingdoctor Since you were describing using autopilot to traverse (“clear”) rising terrain, did you mean to fly Vx, and not Vy, as stated? (Vx is best angle out speed, which is used to generate max vertical climb per unit distance fwd, i.e., clear obstacles when fwd distance is limited, usually short field takeoffs).

    Stupid question : besides the panel you showed in the tutorial, all(the movement etc.) can be done by Xbox controller on a pc right?

    • @theflyingdoctor
      @theflyingdoctor  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Never a stupid question. The answer is that I don't know - I do not play on Xbox, so don't know how things work with a controller on that platform. That said, given MSFS2024's increased focus on XBox, I would be surprised if they haven't tried to map all of tjr functionality that they can. The XB platform opens up the market to such an extent that it would be crazy for them not to invest. I also don't know abiut third party applications in XBox. Apologies - and enjoy your flying.

    This would be the only help I’d buy if it were available on xbox
