Thanks to you and Chris for sharing this incredible town full of book shops. What a thoughtful and lovely Anniversary trip Chris planned for the two of you . I love Scotland, it's been my lifelong dream to visit. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do some " armchair traveling " through your lovely vlogs of Edinburgh and now Wigtown. Happy Anniversary 💕💕✨✨✨
Loved this video, and the music. Someday I'll make it to Wigtown and see it firsthand. I have to comment on one of your captions though. I don't believe Sean Bythell's bookshop is the largest secondhand bookshop in Scotland. That title probably belongs to Leakey's in Inverness as it is located in a huge old church. You will have to head up to Inverness someday and see it for yourself.
We went to our honeymoon in Scotland (from Finland) and also visited Wigtown. My husband bought Bladnoch (which is long gone), I bought couple books and lost my Lonely Planet guide of Scotland (which was a wedding gift from my friend). Nice trip and I wish I could do it again some day!
I only learned about Wigtown recently! You and Shannon (155Books) have both been so recently and I’m JEALOUS! It’s only about a 1.5 hour drive from me so I’m thinking a visit is in order! I loved this video so much!
Happy Anniversary to you and Chris Jean. This was a great video of all the amazing book stores in Wigtown- the footage was incredible!. When I get the chance to go to Scotland, I will definetely be visiting these bookstores. 🥰📚
Im finally coming to Scotland in June! It’s my dream trip! I had no idea this place existed and now I’m trying to figure out how to fit it into the plan.
That was lovely Jean. Thanks so much for sharing! And well done Chris for the idea :) I now have a list of bookshops I absolutely have to check out there, and yes we need to make the trip down there! Thanks again, and happy anniversary.
Oh my, what a delightful little town! And as an autistic person, I now *desperately* want to go see Wigtown Press. But I’m in Australia, so I can dream. 😂 Also, Chris has really cool glasses. 🤓 Happy anniversary to you two!
It's not great by public transport I have to say. That's one of the reasons I haven't gone sooner as I don't drive - that and I live in the East and it's far west. You can get a train to a nearby station from Glasgow and then a bus but if you're in Edinburgh like me that means another train from Edinburgh to Glasgow. It is doable with some planning though!
Wigtown local here - public transport is doable but a challenge! Your closest train stations are Stranraer or Barrhill, then Dumfries or Lockerbie are a bit further. Then you would need a bus to Newton Stewart and then to Wigtown. There are taxis but as very rural can be expensive!
What a lovely surprise (and what’s a lovely video)! Clearly a keeper 😉
I've lived in Scotland most of my life and been a book lover for all of it. How did I not know about Wigtown? Definitely planning a trip now!
Love the Scottish music over this video. And that place looks incredible. I want to go book shopping now, gah.
OMG this place is paradise to me. Added to my bucketlist immediately
Very fun guys! Thank you for sharing with us. ❤

Happy Anniversary, and what a nice surprise!
Someone built a town around bookshops tbh - so nice!
I love bookstores. I could get lost in them for hours. I'm so glad you had a wonderful trip. 📚🤩😍🥰
This place would have you lost for days aha it's wonderful!
@@JeansThoughts I will put this town on my bucket list. 📚📚
Wigtown was my favorite part of my trip I miss it so much I got some rare books and everyone was so nice.

Biggest bookshop in Queensland is in Nambour. Does that help??
@@GraemeBell9864 it’s about 11 hours north of me, but I’ll chuck it on the bucket list! 😁😁😁
Fellow autistic here, with an SI in books :) There's a great book about Book Towns by Alex Johnson - apparently Clunes is Australia's
@@steflake8627 oooo thank you! I’ll put that on my TBR!
This was awesome. I'm so jealous I've always fancied visiting this wee town myself. Great stuff

Thank you so much for sharing! This looks AMAZING! ❤️📚
Looks like such a lovely day! Is Wigtown reachable by public transport, or only by car?
