Great as always Erik, thank you. Especially liked the tip of pulling edit points. Always knew it must be possible but hadn't thought of that solution 👍

    Excellent Erik,
Very good explanation, as usual. Pulling edit points is a great workflow.
    Thanks for sharing

Hi Erik, how did you get the target cage?

Erik, I have used Rhino 7 to print lasts in 3D but I would like to know how you learned the technique you are using in this video, Also what kind of a scanner are you using to get the original scan?

Try and error and a lot of practice.

I came across this video and after some googling, it seems you are using Rhino v7 software, am I correct? Where can I find a default last model to modify? Do I need addons to be able to do all this? It would be really helpful if you added resources in your video description.
I am trying to build and sculpt a last for myself but it's quite difficult to learn how to do that.

Yes, lasts are difficult to sculpt.

@@podotools Ok, I now see that you don't want to share the stock last. While that is fine and you do have the right to not share it, just know that every single video you've made is pretty much useless since they are all fundamentally based on the stock last and you don't show how to make it or how to obtain it. Why do you even make these videos when they are not helpful?

@@PunCala there are several people that took the effort and created their own SubD last.
I show an example, and when I should have had such an example when I started modeling lasts, it would have saved me a lot of work.
I do share my lasts sometimes for free, but only with people that have achieved some level in modeling after investing time and effort.
Show me what you have got!
I plan to organize webinars about CAD last design, and people that follow the webinars will receive the basic last and Grasshopper definition.

@@podotools I work in a hospital. Your attitude reminds me of some of the older nurses that refuse to share their knowledge with young, new nurses, the ones they're supposed to train. All they achieve is making the hospital a worse place for patients.

Is it possible to scale the lasts (for exemple size 7,8,9..) as in one part or do you need to edit every geometry line?

    • @podotools
      @podotools  ปีที่แล้ว

Scaling is possible, no limitations in Rhino for that. But there is no standard grading rule. Wich grading rules do you have in mind?

is this software better than easylast 3d that am using ?

    • @podotools

It is very different, and it depends on what you are looking for.
For my goal, personal lasts and orthopaedic lasts, EasyLast does not seem to be the better tool.
But maybe I am wrong, I have never worked with EasyLast.
