Still rocking my Pro Tacks from 2005. The CCM 152 were my first skate in the mid 90s. Nice to see I'm back in style again 😂
And yes, bring back Jofa helmets, Bauer Supreme 5000 skates, etc!

I loved the old 352’s. First saw them in Mighty Ducks 2 and fell in love! I ended up getting the 752 Kevlar tacks where the white band also wrapped around the back.
I am a BAUER guy now but I had these as a kid in many variations from tacks, to Tacks 652, to 952s. I am definitely getting some and will figure if I will play with them or not lol. If anythings convert them to roller or something . These are AWESOME and I wish I still had my old pairs!

My first pair of skates for men's league were 652's back in the day. Still have them cus I can't get myself to throw them away. I saw these at Pure Hockey today and almost had to impulse buy. They look amazing.
Probably the best looking modern skates in a bit. I love the muted, retro look that allows the carbon to be visible. Been wanting to see what these were since a few CCM pros started wearing them this season. Thanks!
Use them! As for Jofa helmets, I still love my Jofa 690, which I think was the last helmet they released. The older ones, like Mario wore though...

The white stripe on the side of the original 652 wasn’t just cosmetic. It was a plastic reinforcement piece, similar to the Power Clip on the Micron Mega skates in the market around that time.
That classic look hits me in the memories and they are epic. The side by side illustrates that soo perfectly. go with the iconic look it is so classy and more bad *ss than you can imagine! SKATE THEM!
I need to get a pair of these! I loved the old 652s back in the day. I hope that it becomes a regular production item rather than a limited edition. I would love to see the old Jofa 366 helmet make a come too. I still use one and it has been the most comfortable helmet I have ever found.
I'll never understand why they don't sell skates designed like this, because so many hockey players love retro vibes.

The white strip was called the heel wedge. It was functional to the skate.
Takes me back to when I first started playing awesome and I used to have a JOFA Gretzky helmet love that suggestion too
Growing up in Toronto the dream was to get "Super Tacks" but my mum would not buy me them until my feet stopped growing. Eventually, I got my first pair, surprisingly I didn't make it to the NHL hmmm?

Nike Quest 1s were the best skates i ever put on. They wrapped your foot and ankle, and the whole upper part of the boot flexed. Wish nike would get back in the game.

Damn, I just bought new tacks earlier this year (ASVs when they started clearance prices). I would totally have bought these instead! But I only replace my skates once a decade. Always been Tacks. 652s, 1052s, 6052s, and now ASVs

Wow, CCM can actually still make a good looking skate. I thought for sure those days were long gone.
Mark me down for the retro. Reminds me of the 3 or 4 pairs of 752s I had. The current ones look terrible.
I just moved from a 852 to Bauer Shadow skates.....i needed an upgrade for awhile.....
My favorite skates ever were 952 Super Tacks from circa 2003. Do I need these? No. Am I shelling out $650 for the more mid level version that is being released that is similar to the X90? Yes.
Releasing a Tacks shin guard with old school Jofa graphics would be an absolute money maker.

I’m pretty sure Bauer bought the cooper name but I’d love to see some cooper stuff come back. Especially the sk2000 bucket.
I always wore Tacks in my youth. My last pair were the silver 652.
Personally I think they should have ignored the minute weight penalty and just fitted an actual plastic heel strap like the original, even if it was just thin. These look great from a distance but I’m not sold on the heel strap just being a graphic.

Did you say forged carbon?
That carbon is TWILL and its used because it's the easiest cloth that you can make difficult profiles of. Plain cloth is very hard to use on skates but twill is💪💪

Bring back KOHO 750, JOFA 686, Ferland 3300, CCM HG2 and COOPER BDP style gloves using modern tech and materials. Daoust 501, ORBIT Super Pro, Micron Mega 10-90, Micron Medallic and Bauer 1000 & 2000, Cooper Roos Custom pro 100 skates. As for sticks, Sherwood 9030, Christian 6080 Fin Lam, and other wood sticks from Northland, CCM, Canadien, Torspo, Titan, KOHO, Wilson and Montreal. Blue and clear TUUK, Perfecta ICM and SLM holders. COOPER SK2000 & XL7, Northland Stan Mikita helmets. BUT MOST OF ALL CCM JERSEYS...get rid of FANATICS.

I personally think the asv series are the best looking tacks skates.
🤔 im actually thinking picking one up, now. I’ve been in vapors the longest and recently moved over to jetspeeds, just might see how tacks are. Hope they’re nothing like supremes. Those hurt my feet, matter of fact.. bauer skates these days just hurts.

First off, great video. But as for the skates, mehhhh. It’s just a cosmetic rebranding, same shell, materials, etc. Not worth buying. As for my Bauer Machs, I rebranded with 2002 Vapor 10 Vinyl Wrap for $115 usd, expensive vinyl yes but still, saves me a potential $1,000 if Bauer were to release either 2002 Vapor 10 or Bauer Vapor XX.

CCM is asking for (around) $600CAD for these. If I didn't have a genuine need for fully custom boots, I'd buy these in a heartbeat. Hell... if they'd sell me two different sized skates for a little extra, I'd do that too!
Im of the opinion that modern skates, especially the last 7 to 10 years, are by far the best looking skates ever made. To have modern technology made to look like construction boots from 30 years ago is to me redundant.
I think the new tacks look better
Should be used 100%, i started playing hockey when i was 3 in 1990 and have been in CCM ever since, I had these back in the day, I wear ft6 pro customs now. No one comes close to CCMs performance especially today.
